They problem is they had Quentin grimes lockdown defense of the bench..I think they replaced IQ with duece but never replaced him and it showed against the pacer wings/guards

@@will2358 Grimes was solid defensively, but if the starting lineup is healthy, Josh goes to the bench. Grimes & Deuce were fighting for minutes after the OG trade. For depth, they might be able to find somebody with that skillset at 24 in the draft.

Sheed and Melo should’ve won rings together, but not on the Knicks. On the Pistons, had Detroit not thrown away their 2nd overall pick with Darko. What drugs does one need to be on to select him over Melo fresh off of winning Syracuse it’s only ncaa championship and dominating the college game as effortlessly as Lebron dominated high school ball? Most takes on Randle are without the eye test.. just recycled criticisms. KG actually watched them go 14-2 with Randall and OG in the line up. True Knicks fans saw Randle's gm change and how he stopped holding the ball and kept it moving. How OG's presence made Randle a smarter defender and if you didn't notice how much Randle was smiling ..then you really weren't watching. It was a new Randle.. he was different. He got injured during a 7gm win streak. The Knicks had two separate 4 gm losing streaks after that. If you don't know that.. it's because you weren't watching.

To be fair to him, since brunson has arrived he has cut down on that stuff alot. I do like the toughness randle brings to the team. You also have to think like a real GM, OG has to get paid and randle is probably gonna ask for an extension next season. Hes probably gonna command 50m; which in all honesty, he deserves. Are we comfortable paying him that, can we pay him that? Or what if we can replace him for someone comparable for cheaper? What if durant says he wants to take a pay cut to come? And no i dont like, or want durant, but you have to at least have the discussion. Personally i think we should run it back, we finished second and we looked very capable of beating boston. And off topic, i think this year is bostons window. They have to pay tatum this off season and hes looking to be the highest paid. Brown makes about 60, if tatum makes 65? Halladay makes 30m. Your gonna have 150m tied in 3 players. No way they resign white, porzingus or anyone else.

Sheed talked about scoring big man, that's a good point but tough to find any available versatile big man today who can give you both ends at a high level except the likes of Ibaka with KD's mid range and Klay's 3pt. I can only think of JJJ and Myles Turner but lack toughness to play for Knicks. For now, OG provides that to a degree. OG is a big dude with long wingspan and versatility. I like the idea of keeping IHart and Mitch, they provide versatility against any big men matchups. I don't mind bringing Ibaka from the Euro league and run him as third string center for cheap, behind IHart and Mitch. Dude balling in Europe, his team is now in semi finals!

I don't think markenan fits coaches physical style on defense bridges is a better fit there and he can improve the shooting. Better rebounder and athletic . I'd say if you go with Mark you get more floor spacing with bridges your better on the break but not as good half court. Randle is a better player than Mark and bridges at this point

I agree with you that Randle is a better player than Bridges and Lauri, but it’s about the right fit. Randle takes up the space where Brunson works best, whereas Lauri spreads the floor and he has more length.

The Knicks should trade for Kuzma. He already has championship experience with LA. He's not too young either, so Thibs might be more enthusiastic about the addition. Kuzma might not be the greatest on defense, but he can provide another 3 level scoring type of player.

I'm 64 and avid life long Knicks fan. Clyde and Broadway Joe my 1st sports heroes. Basketball has become 1a and Football 1b. Love both. Like with Luca and Kyrie its 1a and 1b with Jalen and Julio's and I love both of them!. Our 1-2 punch is most deadly in game. Sheed get yourself a way better side kick! Randle for who???? GTFOH!!!! For Luca, Joker or Giannis, otherwise hell no. Randle is 2 x All NBA top 15 player and is ideal fit like all other current Knicks are! Nets will get Spider and Deuce, we'll get Bridges and Cavs get 5 picks, Bogy's expiring contract and any towel waiver on bench. Bridges is as ideal fit as any we have. We would run Dante at PG and SG and Hart at SF and PF off bench with Mitch. Best 8 man rotation in game by far! And hopefully keep Precious as 9th man to back up our bigs and Shake is Deuce 2,0 as combo guard back up. Jalen is Batman - and Julius is KING KONG!

I disagree for a few reasons. When you mentioned Joel he has not been healthy his entire career and it continues to be a war of attrition regardless of which way you slice it. They need to upgrade across the board to compete with the Knicks etc Giannis is slowly starting to get injured as well and I respect him more than I respect Joel. The Bucks do not have depth or defense as much as they used to. And the 76ers would get beat with a fully healthy Knicks roster. It's going to depend on what each of those teams add to their roster this offseason. The Knicks are absolutely a threat to ANY team in the East.

The Knicks lost the war of attrition. At full strength the Knicks could be playing for the title. Despite his age the Knicks should try and get KD. Trading Randle for KD moves the needle on this team.
