Now normally when Homelander did this in the previous seasons, it made sense, because the show was trying to build on his character and expose him of his need for love. However, now it doesn't make any sense for his character to do this. In S4 E4 we see Homelander taking revenge on those who abused him and created a psychological trap around him, giving him the need for love. The whole reason he took revenge on them is because he wanted to get rid of his need for love, he manages to do exactly that and kills them all. But for no reason 2 episodes later they create this bullshit!!!! This destroys his character completely showing that he has not progressed since season 1 with his emotional whiny little shit self and his hankering for love. Ngl this entire season doesn't build on anyone or anything it just traumatizes the viewers.

To me this shows that his human half is still there and will still affect him. All it took was some breast milk lol
