Why Tournament Pack 1 Was SO WEIRD! 

1:46 yes but also consider that only 2 months separated T1 Pack and Metal Raiders so unless you had a very strong local playerbase no one had Mech Chaser or Gumo I lived in a town with 3 card shops and some kids used to bring their cards to the local parks to duel so we had a good community over where I grew up and the people who won EVERY game were these older kids (we were in 5th grade these were like high school freshmen) and they had 3 Mech Chaser 3 Gumo 3 Dark Elf and stuff like Axe Of Despair lol it was brutal. They'd also have Man Eater Bugs and Penguin Soldiers with stuff like Change Of Heart, Reigeki, Swords and Dust Tornado. If you had a Starter Deck with 4-5 packs worth of Enhancements like most kids my age you were toast. I only had a chance because I had 3 Axe Of Despair because when I got the LOB Blue Eyes I traded one of my Kaiba Deck ones to get 2 of them from some kid at a park and I opened one 2 weeks later so that with 3 Lajin 2 Dark Elf, 1 Gumo, 1 Mech Chaser I bought with my b day money and some disrupt spells I had a chance because I also had both starter decks so I had Summoned Skull which I would change of heart into and slap my Axe on it and 3500 atk was my gigachad beater somtimes I would get 2 axes on it and I would be like "this is just as strong as the Blue Eyes ULTAMATE Dragon" all dramatic like I was the main character lol TLDR: But some kids just didn't have the cards is the point and that tournament pack was hard to get if you didn't live in a place like me with 3 shops so you could enter, lose on purpose and go to other shops to get more packs. Most kids had 1 or 2 starter decks and thats all

On another note the guy who always won had a deck with 3x Lajin, 3x Mech Chaser, 3x Dark Elf, 3x Jirai Gumo, 3x Reinforcements and 3x Summoned Skull, 3x Sword Of Dark Destruction with Dark Hole, Reigeki, Trap Hole and Wabuku which he would use if I got something good to tribute into Skull and put a sword on it and slap me with a 2900 and just go over all my stuff. If i got something big he would use Reinforcements to go over it... ugh lol
