From what I've read in various articles, the push back was mainly so the show doesn't overlap with She-Hulk. The series (or at least a good portion of it) has been reviewed by some who say that the first three episodes have a self-contained story-arc so the three of them together is more like a stand-alone movie. Their non-spoiler review also said the series looks more epic because they are not using The Volume like other Disney+ shows and that the series is much more grounded, the villains are less cartoonish, and the overall feel is more realistic than we've seen before.
So why not just leave it on August 31 and push a marvel show this time as obi wan also got pushed back. I know it was like two days but still but why I’m confused then when why not have Star Wars Wednesday marvel Thursdays and film Friday so we know what day what Disney show is out. like Monday have a Disney show Tuesday something else Wednesday Star Wars Thursday the marvel show then Friday the movies come out.
@@theelectroadam House of the Dragon starts weekly episodes on August 21st and LOTR: Rings of Power starts on Sept. 2nd. so besides separating Andor a bit from She-Hulk they may have also wanted to separate it from the start of those other genre-competing shows. It actually makes sense.
Star Wars live action started out weird with the first movie, it's just that Star Wars has been around long enough that we no longer think of it as weird.
Would you like to see more diverse Star Wars universe(Star Trek) or keep it good guys(Republic) vs Bad Guys(Empire). I am looking forward to Andor because we get to see the “Grey” way of doing things.
I’ve heard the show is set up with 3 episode arcs for the stories so releasing a complete arc makes sense. I know that I have been meh towards Andor, but that trailer has definitely hooked me. By releasing a complete arc, I think those of us that were less excited will catch the vision and the buzz will explode.
@@sebastianoleary2743 My comment was based on what i heard a TV critics say in a review. Maybe they realised this and that's why they decided to change it to 3.
*Q/A:* Do you think Luke and Leia talked about their kiss from TESB after learning that they are siblings? If so, how do you think that conversation went?
It's a simple conversation, because it's not what people seem to think. The kiss in ESB wasn't actually romantic feelings between them. Han was pushing and pushing and Leia did that just to aggravate him. If they had that conversation, it would be somewhere along the lines of "hey, Luke, just to be clear, I do like you as a friend, but there's nothing there. I was just looking to get back at Han for driving me crazy." And it's probably a conversation that happened before they went to get Han from Jabba's palace. Because you notice there's not even flirting between Luke & Leia at the beginning of RotJ, even before Luke learns Leia's his sister. Not even off-hand jokes between Han and Luke over it.
@@Bad_Wolf_Media I agree with your take. I don't think Leia ever had romantic feelings for Luke, and Luke's crush on her seemed to have disappeared by ESB
Well I for one an grateful for the move to Sept 21st as my birthday is the 22nd. I am disabled and homebound in a hospital bedcabd will be spending yet another birthday alone. So a new Star Wars for my birthday is a blessing.
I do think a young Jin Erso will appear. The rebels knew who she was and just had to find her…which they did even though she was using an alias in an imperial prison. I don’t think they would know that unless they encountered her through Saw.
Republicans have always followed the constitution & the conservative part of the party has always been with religion. Not all Republicans are Conservatives.
Thanks for answering my question. I don’t know why but I can’t help but see a generic temple guard retiring to his/her quarters, removing their mask, and just staring at it with slumped shoulders. This guy really didn’t envision this for himself doing this for the rest of his life while he spent years training to be a Jedi. I also get the feeling that they were looked down upon or otherwise ignored by the majority of the other Jedi. They’re basically the House Elves of Star Wars. Of course, I’m only basing this on the interaction between Jocasta Nu and the Grand Inquisitor in the Darth Vader comics.
We know that Yoda allowed a 12 (I think) year old non-Jedi to become a Temple Guard. So maybe they were just either "failed" Jedi or non-Jedi who wanted to serve as a Jedi.
Oh I didn’t know that about the non-Jedi being allowed to become a temple guard, that is interesting. And I like what you’re saying about them being failed initiates, kind of like in legends where the members of the Emperor’s Shadow Guard were taken from the ranks of Jedi Service Corps during the Jedi Purge.
Th'at's my Headcannon too ... maybe Younglings or Padawan who don't "pass" things like "the trials" or alternatively kids with a "nearly but not quite" Midichlorian count.... It would explain why the Grand Inquisitor has such a chip on his shoulder.
I don't know if this helps but the Canon lightsaber collection book says" "The Jedi Temple on Coruscant towers above the cityscape, its imposing walls evoking countless centuries of Force knowledge and galactic peace. One of the traditions associated with the Temple's upkeep is the posting of hand-chosen guards, acting as both a security force and a ceremonial relic from early Jedi history, at entryways and checkpoints. The guards serve anonymously, their identities concealed beneath robes and masks. Rarely speaking or moving out of position, they act as faceless, tireless sentinels. At the time of the Jedi Order's downfall during Order 66, Jedi Master Cin Drallig commands the ranks of the Jedi Temple guards. Temple guards don't wear their individual lightsabers while on duty, instead carrying thick, double bladed staff weapons commonly known as lightsaber pikes. The energy blades of each lightsaber pike burn with yellow light, a color rarely seen in energy weapons powered by kyber crystals. Jedi Temple guards first appear in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The official back story of the Grand Inquisitor, a villain from the follow-up series Star Wars Rebels, reveals that he served as a Jedi Temple guard before his fall to the dark side. Later, Luke Skywalker would use a single-bladed version of the Jedi Temple Guard lightsaber following the events of Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back. This single-bladed variant can also be found in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge."
Q & A: Where were the corpses, that were lying somewhere brought to? In Dooku: Jedi Lost we learned, that Serennos Ancestors were buried on Mantero. And Padme Amidala was buried on Naboo. So, what about the others? Why didn't the Empire used Tactical-droids anymore? They were useful to the Seperatists.
Q and A if we do get Old Republic movies or shows how far back would you want it to go ? For me it would be the origins of the Jedi and sith and then go from there? And would you rather it focus on the Sith or Jedi?
@@hefoughtabear118 because Din is the type of guy who does not want to become an adversary to bo, as evidenced in finale of season 2. So it kind of makes sense for someone like bo who seeks power, to find other means in order to make him duel so that when she wins she’ll be the rightful ruler of mandalore. But then again this is just how I perceive it, so we’ll have to wait until season 3 unfolds.
@@Zero_Zero_0_0 ok but why wouldn't din just accept a challenge from Bo for the darksaber? He'd probably lose anyway, if not willingly, so i see no reason for them be enemies if they did duel. Unless Din suddenly cared about holding onto the darksaber for some reason
I feel that the Andor delay is more in favor of She-hulk than Andor. Maybe I'm wrong but there seems to be more hyped for Andor and Disney doesn't want it to overshadow SH. It's utterly maddening that they're doing this bc that means TBB, The Mandalorian probably will be delayed too! We've waited long enough! 😫 But I don't mind the 3-episode premiere. Maybe it's bc those are the episodes where we see kid Cassian and they want fast forward the story to the point when Andor is an adult. Idk, don't really care. We'll have 9 more weeks to enjoy 😄
There's also the fact that The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is being released on September 2nd. They don't want the debuts of the geek shows to be too crowded.
@@notobi-wan8344 @GameStation3 sure many other shows are getting out at the same time, but why don't delay She-Hulk? And premiere Andor ahead of schedule? I mean, another marvel show just ended and if they had followed the pattern, it's the turn for a star wars show, isn't it?
@@mare9548 sad truth is Marvel is More popular than Star Wars right now. I have feeling Feige has More power than Kennedy or anyone In Lucasfilm on these. Im sad on delay but i hope its worth the wait. Mayby they have More time To polish it
So what are your thoughts on Vader having eyebrows? Originally, he had them, then they were digitally removed in Return of the Jedi. You can see David Prowse's eye through Vader's lens in A New Hope in a shot when flying his TIE Fighter, and with the angle, you also get his eyebrow. Rebels gave him an Eyebrow so that there was more clear animation after Vader's mask gets sliced open by Ahsoka. Obi-Wan cuts his mask open, but there is no eyebrow. But in Book of Boba Fett, bacta gives Boba his eyebrows back, but not his hair. So I guess the real question is, depending on how much time Vader is in bacta and how much damage he receives in a battle or duel, does this also affect whether or not he has eyebrows? Is his body just too damaged to sustain them for long periods of time and he has to keep returning to the bacta? This is important.
Curious what your thoughts are on that Star Wars burlesque show? "The Empire Strips Back: A Burlesque Parody". Have you heard of or seen any of it? I think it's 😂...yet, oddly intriguing concept🤔
Q/A: do you think that the Mandalorian, Ahsoka, book of boba Fett, rangers of the NR, and other potential new republic era shows will elude to a Thrawn movie trilogy based on the original Thrawn books?
Was away on family vacation so missed the live streams, but I've always got the Q&As to get to visit Star Wars Explained land. @Mollie, you're thinking of Neapolitan ice cream. You guys should do Ice Cream Explained! You can write-off ice cream purchases :P
Hopefully you get to finish with the remaining Season 5 Clone Wars Chronological rewatch discussions before _Andor_ instead of going on Hiatus again just one week before _Andor's_ premiere
I know this is late by why did you guys both assume Erso would have to meet Andor if she was in the show? Like Obi Wan wasnt in half of his own show and BOBF had 2 episodes sans Boba, so why couldn't Erso be in Andor just not meeting him?
I've avoided the newer trailers, so I opened up Disney plus yesterday to sit down and watch episode 1 after an awful day at work. Imagine my disappointment when I read 22nd September!
Q/A: Me and my friend were having, feelz good man! Times and we started watching new lego star wars summer vaction movie. Only thing we could think was, how great would this movie be in live action. Do you folks think that there will ever be comedic star wars movie made in future?
On a Navy aircraft carrier all the departments have to provide someone to the security department and most of them choose their worst Sailor. That's how it sounds like Temple Guards work lol
We are so spoiled. There wasn’t Star Wars for over a decade now the internet is covered in rants and finger pointing when we “don’t get something in august” 🤣
But the 3 episode thing is because the story is told in 3 episode chunks it has nothing to do with the schedule it made more sense to do 3 episodes than 2
Andor could be a good way of telling the story of the parting of the ways between Jyn and Saw - that's a story worth telling. the format of the show looks like it's much bigger than Andor himself so it could be done without Jyn and Cassian crossing paths in a meaningful way. Just not sure if a 38 year old Felicity Jones could pass for a 16 year old .....recast ? de-age?
After yall talked about Tales of the Jedi exploring other Jedi stories and Temple Guards, IF a Season 2 were to happen, how cool would it be to get a story about the Grand Inquisitor leading up to Rebels/joining the Empire!? I definitely would love to see Dark Disciple on screen some day, I'm halfway through the book & loving it so far! ☺️
Omg! Three weeks?!? lol That's literally _nothing!_ 🤣 Before we all know it, the entire season will have come and gone, like everything else! First it was the Clone Wars season 7 finally, coming back, and I remember when we still had more than a year left until the first season of the Mandalorian! Now that's already like two or three years ago already! Wandavision, Loki, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Hawkeye, Moon Knight, (Black Widow, No Way Home, Multiverse of Madness, Shiang Chi,) and then the Bad Batch, both seasons of the Mandalorian, (so far,) during which the Book of Boba Fett was teased in the season two finale, (and the speculation going around whether it would become the third season of the Mandalorian or not,) when we still had like 10 months to go! We wait every time patiently, (and sometimes not so much lol) and no matter what's coming up that we're anticipating it drops and is seemingly OVER before any of us can blink an eye! Putting us right back into the waiting anticipation mode all over again! It was especially true for Obi-Wan, because we'd all effectively been left waiting for what felt like EONS. And now, just like all the rest, it's already over! Come and gone before we knew it! (Ok, so maybe we did know it lol but it's already over all the same!) ✌ I think we should bask in this time, "pre-Andor," while we still have this naive innocence HAHAHA 🤣 before we've been spoiled and tainted, by whatever events we witness taking place! Or, at least take comfort knowing there's still fresh, exciting, brand new Star Wars in the immediate future! Know what I mean?!? It's an exciting time to be alive! (for a Star Wars fan, in particular!) _(besides, it's only three weeks lol it could be WAY worse!)_ ✌
What sort of Rebels references do you think we might see in Andor? I'm hoping we at least hear Ezra's call to action, and we absolutely have to see Mon Mothma calling Palpatine out in the Senate, as well as the formation of the Rebellion above Dantooine. Those are pivotal moments.
1:15 just be happy they arnt taking notes from wb with their dc treatment. Batgirl literally got permanently shevled for a tax write off and hbo max is getting gutted with more focus back on theaters.
I'd love Star Wars back on Fridays! Anyone else feel this way? Anyone know why it isn't released then? I miss the weekend of less spoilers and then when Monday hit with the posters it was like the ok we can talk spoilers, now!
this fall is peak geekdom. Andor, She-Hulk, Rings of Power, Tales of the Jedi, House of Dragons, the finale of The Walking Dead. I feel like there's one or two others I'm missing.
The delay to September was obviously due to moving She-Hulk Thursdays in order to not have the two series overlap each other on the same day considering that _Ms. Marvel_ was competing with viewers and discussions against the remaining episodes of _Obi-Wan Kenobi._ I love this change because as much as I love having every Disney+ series releasing new episodes every Wednesday since _Loki_ it can be tedious having every series releasing new episodes the same day as the rest of the series episodes making it feel bloated so it's good that Disney is moving She-Hulk to Thursdays to avoid competing against Andor and hopefully it would lead to Disney releasing their shows on different days rather than only Wednesdays.
Ooh followup question. Given that the original Shadows of the Empire and Prince Xizor is super creepy in a bad way, how would you go about adapting Xizor for the new canon?
I think of the Temple Guards as analogues to the Guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. It is an HONOR to serve and protect the most sacred of all symbols of the Jedi, the temple.
I wouldn't worry about Andor, at least we're getting it at all, which unfortunetley is more than what I can say for the Knight Of The Old Republic remake.
The Child is wielding the force the entire Mandolorian series basically, what exactly are we talking about here? Grogu looks exactly like Yoda just miniature, so they are calling upon that memory of Yoda from us as the audience & pairing it with Grogu’s force sensitivity so the concept of the Jedi was ever present even before Ashoka & Luke showing up.
The delay of andor probably is cause she hulk but it cool cause she hulk begging soon probably will be on Thursday I hope that Disney plus give a week of series between she hulk andor and high school musical the musical series also which premieres on Wednesday.
I dare marvel to pull another 2020 and not release anything for a few years. Oh and to actually treat vfx artists properly. But both of those are asking way too much.
She Hulk got moved to Thursday, but I don’t see this being a permanent thing.. seems like that would cut into Thursday night early weekend box office numbers
