Thinking about homeschooling? Find out why we decided to start homeschooling our children and what helps us to keep going each year. We'd love to hear from you with personal questions or comments at: worththeworkcoaching@gmail.com
I’m embarking on this homeschool journey this year 😬. I’ve been doing it unofficially but I finally buy the bullet and I’m now official 😳 😱 . Your kids...6-1yrs...Pray for my success and sanity 😂
The behavior of other children is one of my biggest reasons. My education was hurt to the point as my child learns I’m learning with her. I did learned something. Other students would interrupt class arguing with the teacher to the point we got nothing done during school time. I dealt with bullying from elementary up to middle school happily high school was better but still other students interrupting class was the biggest issue so I just took a vantage of the easy teachers and just got easy grades. One teacher use to hand out paperwork and we had to read what was on the paper and Answer the questions on the back. Another teacher would just send another student around class with a clipboard and if you were present that day you got an A for the day. I would do my best to learn but I couldn’t keep up I needed someone to take their time with me on my learning so I was just learn enough just to pass the class. The bullying also made it that I wouldn’t ask for help from tutors because I was afraid if they would make fun of me. I told this to a teacher and she confirmed that they just might because she seen teachers who would actually make fun of students in private.
Love this! So glad to find your channel and this video. I am African American married to a Ghanaian immigrant. We’ve been homeschooling our children for four years and definitely raised some eyebrows in both of our families 😆 Now folks are starting to understand. Blessings to you and your family ❤️
Great video! Thank you for sharing. I am a first-generation Nigerian and we just started homeschooling our 5 year old. I subscribed once you all said you all are Ghanian! 😂😂
Hey Ghanaians yaaaay!!!! Really excited about this video... Yes very true... I did find it to be an uncommon thing to homeschool within the black community... I myself thought homeschooling was odd... But here I am lol... Great video
I’m glad I found your video! New sub here!! I have one son who is excited about homeschooling (special needs/autism) and one who wants to stay in public school because of “leaving friends” accelerated gifted program. They are 6th grade and 8th grade. How would you go about dealing with that?
I am finding your perspective interesting. I am American and my husband is from Zimbabwe. That makes our children first generation Americans on their baba's side. Our family in Zimbabwe and from Zimbabwe definitely do not understand our choices.
Are you on IG? I'm homeschooling my only child. We made the decision pretty early. Hubby and I grew up in Togo, with some family in Ghana and we've been in the US for a while now. So I say hey fam! :-)
