@@RonaldLBanks TD;LR - Read ancient philosophy BEFORE present day recycled self help “advice”. There isn’t a single thought or way of thinking that hasn’t been philosophized at some point to varying degrees by deep thinkers and ancient philosophers which can be asked by simple Google searches. It’s my biggest gripe with new age “self-help” nonsense today. All it is is re-packaging and marketing of ancient philosophy. That is to say that thinkers of the past had no to very little monetary gain selling books, seminars, or RU-vid views. I always recommend young people to read and study ancient philosophy BEFORE self-help books that try to convince that you’re broken so that they can write another book, seminar, or RU-vid video selling you on how to fix they problem that they convinced you that you had. The one present day author who I respect because he explains this very well and tells what he is saying can easily be found in ancient philosophy, is Mark Manson (Subtle Art of Giving a Fuck).
Amazing how that works. I completely understand what you feel, because the same is true for me. I’m glad you got value from this conversation my friend!
Loved this too. Simplicity in ones life makes it so much easier to focus therefore bringing clarity to daily living. Makes for a more contented life. Wonderful ❤
🖐👍🏻great advice for most all situations. Reminds me how I often will get on phone to tech help for computer problem, or even cable tv. First suggestion of the good tech reps is to restart computer/tv. This resets things and solves problem better than half the time. Kind of like the “reset” one gets when stepping away from a problem and coming back to it later, when your brain has a chance to view it fresh.
Love your content!! This was spot on. And love listening to your relaxed voice. I think you have helped me today. I'm stuck in that clothes tug o' war. Doing okish elsewhere. I want to breath out, and just let it all go. You see I want to focus on feeling fit and strong again and getting into exercise but everything else is annoying me. I did not realise how simple I am with clothes till I took note of what I really love. Not jeans even anymore. I could live with barely nothing and I would be so happy. I'm an overthinker and end up complicating the smallest stuff😄 I think I'll play this over as I work at today. Thank you!🇮🇪❤
I feel guilty for going against my character which has been conditioned to always be “busy”… All of a sudden I see all the BS that takes up my calendar 😂😂 Simply feels weird but good.
I got my own "car" story XD I noticed my bathrooms faucet was leaky. I happen to have a handyman over to my apartment because my radiator had started leaking after my neighbors had done something to theirs. It got fixed with no cost to me and I took the chance and asked if he might look at the leaky faucet. He did and he said it needed to be change, but he was not able to do so right now and that I need to contact my landlord/apartment company. Or at least that is probably what he meant to say, but he happen to say it in such a bad way, that I heard it as "you will need a full bathroom renovation". Which is not something I can afford. I was to scared to contact my apartment company, because I did no want to have a rent increased. My family and friends tried to tell me that it would be fine and that the problem was not hard to fix. But I did not believe them. It got to the point where I was using my kitchen faucet for everything, because if I did not used the bathroom faucet then it would stop leaking after about a weeks time. I don't remember when I finally decided to contact the apartment company, but I finally did and they came and replaced the faucet and pipe, for no cost to me. I felt so happy and so stupid for not having done something sooner. But know I know.
Thank you very much for your video Ronald. I liked it a lot. For me the issue is a complex work programming project that Im pondering about for a few weeks now and basically havent done anything. Plan upon a plan, idea upon idea, solution upon a solution and so on... Thanks to your great video, I will take is easy and try to simplify it as much as possible. Thanks again...
Hey Ronald, really nice video ! I was wondering if I could help you with Best Quality Editing in your videos better than your Editor with good pricing and also make a highly engaging Thumbnail which will help your videos to reach to a wider audience ? Pls let me know what do you think ?
I needed this right now. Thank you so much, opened my perspective a bunch! 😊 Love how you chose to film this video on this particular topic, feels very personal and easy to connect to.
Really needed this kind of advice at the moment. A lot of complicated problems right now and maybe the simple solutions really is the key to moving forward.
This was a good one. I‘m guilty of overcomplicating. Next time I Hope i remember this Video before reacting. For me overcomplicating is also linked to Stress. If stressed it Happens way often if i take the time to think .
Good video. So many things we don't understand seem more complicated than they may really be. We also fear what we don't understand so it is doubly problematic. A little bit of knowledge or understanding goes a long way to uncomplicating issues. I had a very similar experience with a broken washer. I looked up the error code, and watched a few videos on doing the likely repair. A $7 part from Amazon and it was fixed in less than half hour to take apart and same to install new part and be up and working. Saved the time and money of a repair call and I learned how simple washing machines really are.
I've been making simplicity more of a conscious habit for a few months now, but I think what really pushed me to make that decision was the amount of fatigue I was facing both mentally and emotionally. All I can be is me. It's okay to not fit in, and it's okay to be imperfect. I find that the more I practice positive affirmations or mantras like the ones I just stated- as well as prioritizing what matters to me- the better I start to feel about my life. As a side note, your core values worksheet really did act as a great springboard for motivation and change in my life, Ronald! It's helped me to understand that I value connections with both friends and family... it's also made me realize that I value intimacy in my the relationship I have with my boyfriend. Thanks for all that you do! 😊
While I don't disagree with your overall presentation, you may have missed a point. Your car situation was "simple" because you had an experienced person to help diagnose and fix the problem with tools he had. What if you didn't have a dad, it would have been a potential crisis.
