30 years of Tejas with a total combat aircrafts of 30 to 35 Tejas which are not prototypes. So 1 Tejas was made on average of 9 years. Nice achievement HAL.

Avionics on board the aircraft? 2. Aircrafts Weapon systems and its variety? 3. Number of active aircrafts and how quickly the inventory can be replenished? 3. Quality of training and experience of the pilots 4. Quality and experience of the aircraft's ground support staff like service engineers, radar navigators, surveillance and monitoring experts etc 5. Quality and range of aircraft's ground support weapons and radars? 7. Seamless ability to communicate bi-directionally with other systems (friendly aircrafts, infantry, artillery and naval systems) to share real time battle information.

India has better options in Mid and Heavy range of Fighter Jets.... Hence why Tejas was NOT used, because we have better options in a different class. Look man, I mean no disrespect, but to think that there is no role for dogfights in the future is ridiculous. In the 1960s, many fighter planes got rid of guns entirely because they thought missiles and avionics were the future. Then, other countries came up with countermeasures and evasion policies. Same is likely to happen now. Sure we have BVR missiles and stealth avionics. Bit soon, new counterstealth and electronic countermeasures will null those advantages. This will result in a BFM dogfight. Thus maneuverability will be important.
Coz the country with 10 billion$ defence budget makes good tea as they are only capable of doing and mind you not only tea but various other products are also made under the name of fauji company even diapers too. so they might be professional in doing that and indian armed forces always prefer professionals. And many times it was proved by them once their air force officer even justified that in mig21 there's provision of chute for ejected seat as well besides having one for the pilot and that claim was done on their TV channel and made fool out of a country. The last line....Ofcourse pak. is gareeb but china is not.... After listening so much about Tejas , i just want to bang my head in the wall without hurting me. They did not built the engine. They did not built the radar for it. They did not built Self protecting jammer(SPJ) for it. They did not built the Aerial refuling probe. All these above equipments are imported ,and all are basic. Still it took them 30 years to deliver an aircraft which have a useless air inlet and unburned fuel problem. How can someone compare it to any fighter jet.Talking about Jf17 thunder Pak. and China signed the deal in 1995 and first flight took in 2003(8 years). Now you see the problem- "TIME". Whatever they can make it faster atleast. The problem is not with the Airforce ,the problem is with HAL's planing ,engineers, lack of skilled manpower and "reservation system,to some extent may be", and ofcourse "Indian bureaucracy". And thats all not enough. They have planned MK1,MK1A and MK2. Its out of my capacity to understand such planning. they can now just make MK2 ,but no, we will first make MK1A.
I agree technology changes rapidly with time even Pakistan Airforce knows jf-17 is not the permanent solution they are already requesting China for another modern aircraft at least better than jf-17.... The problem with HAL is after 30 years they're still stuck on Tejas they should have move on to another project there's no shame in asking another country for help....it's the fucking politicians who have ruined the indian defense manufacturing.... There are other factors too like cost of maintenance and spare parts and the legal bindings which tie the countries hands.....
