i don't understand the purpose of this video but i know some stuff about physics so i can tell you a few facts: Number one is the "cloud cone" or something like it, appears due to the condansation in the air, and not mach 1 barrier. It can appear when you're landing, starting, flying 35.000 ft or 100 ft in the air, it all depend on weather conditions and moisture in the air. Number two is "sonic boom" is term used for loud explosion sound, heared by the viewer, while jet that flies over mach 1 is present, and it's not the sound of "breaking sound barrier". It's just a multiplication of soundwaves that create a layer of noises, that can be heared as boom. Sonic boom to be exact.
sorry if this was a little indirect, but the reason of this video is to figure out why the sonic boom looks different then everyone elses experiences. i took a very long break from war thunder a year ago and after i came back the sonic boom cloud just wouldnt appear. i dont know if the game was updated to make this feature more realistic. now, if your suggesting i fly closer to water, or set the world settings to be a moist day, then i could try that.
@@PA1Npirate Nope, looks like he's using the F5 or f20 and as someone who has both im pretty sure it depends on that particular day or one of hia settings fucking with his physics but the vapour cloud does do that occasionally
a Mach cone or mach cloud appears when breaking the sound barrier in moist places. It is actually called a mach cloud/cone by real life pilots. Additionally a mach cloud wont appear when making manuevers, condensation will form making vapor trails yes but the actual mach cone he is referring to wont happen when doing the other things listed. additionally the vapors arent created by the condensation in the air they are formed by the low pressure zones vaporizing moisture in the air.
Im not here to be a dick but basically War thunder has a weird ahhh physics system and the vapour cloud is highly dependent on moisture, and when the level is very low it wont give you a vapour cloud but just a lame excuse of a fart from behind Which honestly I prefer cause that thing blinds you occasionally Edit: TLDR either a setting fucking with your physics or just physics working correctly with low moisture
realistically speaking, such a vapour cone could appear from anywhere between Mach 0.8 and 1.2, and is highly dependent on humidity, temperature, pressure, and a whole lot of other things. what war thunder has right now is very inaccurate, cause there's planes that have gone supersonic and not had this (low humidity, high temperatures, low pressure), and planes that never came close to the sound barrier showing them. the boom is a different thing too, its the shockwave cause its pushing through the air faster than the air can move out the way, so it compresses rapidly, forming a shockwave. as for the inconsistency in war thunder, simply a gaijin moment
Could either be a graphic Bug or look through your settings. theres a option for Sonic booms but im not sure anymore if it was fore the sound or the visual
