Yes! This is exactly what I needed to hear. Been on 5&1 for 3 weeks, lost 12 pounds so far. Thank you - your videos, knowledge and enthusiasm are fantastic. Great info in this one re 7th late night fueling (if necessary), water and protein, no sweat exercise, etc! Thank you! I also shared with a friend.

I was on plan May 1, 2023 through June 22,2023 and got so frustrated that got OFF PLAN to recoup. Got back on plan July 22 and am not losing weight. So determined to figure out why I am NOT losing weight like all these other clients 😫💁😁

Can you site any study that shows exercise would cause weight loss to slow? Everything I've read says this is only a concern with ultra low caloric intake. Basically inducing hypoglycemia. There are symptoms of hypoglycemia and slow weight loss is one of least of your concerns.

Shoot, is there a camera in my house!?! 😳 this was crazy helpful. I stay up wayyy late being very active (we are renovating a house) plus I’ve been working out too hard. Things I thought were good, but now I see I’m just making this harder on myself. I also stopped weighing my food after week 1. 🫣

I love your no-nonsense, transparent explanation of how Optavia works! The comment about the jolly ranchers made me crack up, because I have been doing a similar thing with low carbohydrate flour tortillas late at night. And I have been telling myself that one day the rubber is going to meet the road and I will not lose weight anymore! I am going to send this video to my friend who said she wasn’t able to lose weight on a Optavia, and ask her if she wants to reconsider. Thank you so much.

This was just what I needed. Am on week 2 and stopped losing. I wasn't drinking 64 ounces a day, was not eating within 30 minutes of waking up - going to over an hour, I stopped weighing meats and I have been at least 3-4 hours after my last fueling and didn't realize I need to grab another fueling (or half of one) thank you so much! xo

Normally that wouldn’t be the culprit especially because that is more protein-based. I would really be looking at your inches and if you’re actually losing inches along with are you laying out your meat and getting the correct that every single time and staying on track for longer than a week at a time

You could, but if you call Nutrition Support normally they’ll tell you if that’s a consistent thing, that you’re better off to split your lean and Green to stretch your food out longer

Oh glad it helped! I would suggest calling nutrition support as an extra layer of knowledge for your night shifts. They have such great ideas!

DAY 13 and only 3 pounds net loss...grrrr I’ve done ALL the things right...only had a little extra protein or fat here and there....not enough to make Any sense whatsoever for not losing more. I usually lose much more on diets...I haven’t done this well following something maybe ever...getting frustrated...

That’s the name of the game. Consistency. People get frustrated that they’re not losing weight and then when I break it down I’m like well of course you’re not losing weight, you’re not really doing the program. You’re doing a hybrid and a hybrid won’t keep the scale moving. I highly suggest reading the book chasing cupcakes or downloading it on audible. It’s a game changer on the mental component and will really help you stay consistent on program

oh I do like them...but I would prefer twinkies! HAHA! So I don't really love them...I for sure do like them lol but I prefer chocolate and twinkies....I just know know how to balance anything I eat with protein and put it into my calories of the day!

I wake up for prayers at 5 and then do a little house chores and go back to bed for 45 min to an hour before I wake up and start work, do I take my first fueling then or when I wake up at 5? Thank you.

Great question. I would try it one week one way and the next week try it the other. Every person's body is different but I would make sure to take your inches at the start and end of each week trying this to see which one made you burn more fat/lose more inches.

I have thyroid issues and take synthroid. I was told I didn't have to wait for my first fueling if it was soy free. I hope this is correct because every morning my routine is... take my synthroid and drink coffee with the hot chocolate fueling (soy free).

My understanding is, it has nothing to do with the fueling being soy based or not, it has to do with the Synthroid not being able to absorb into your digestive tract within 30 minutes. I suggest calling your pharmacist but most pharmacists will tell you that the Synthroid needs to sit in an empty stomach for one full hour to have a maximum absorption.

Ugh yes, my first week I lost 9.8#, 65 to lose and then 2nd week I gained 2.8. very discouraging.

I'm at about 3.5 weeks in. I lost like 8 lbs the first week but I've kinda stalled going between 8-10 lbs since. I love raw vegetables and I think part of the problem is I am eating too many vegetables and not always weighing them correctly. I probably shouldn't eyeball it anymore or "cheat" on veggies. Is it a thing where you can eat too many vegetables? I def am gonna use the Conversion Chart. I know I also need to drink more water. As far as protein, does it have to be fresh? What are your thoughts on those frozen fully cooked chicken strips?

Measuring is so important! Frozen/precooked is fine, just make sure you weigh it out after you’ve cooked it!

@@Gwen_Peterson_ no... unfortunately I got severely sick with optavia fuelings the longer I went. Went to my doctor and was advised to follow real food protocol by her and optavia nutrition support... bummer. Apparently I'm allergic to something unknown in fuelings? Either way, I gave it my best shot twice with fuelings. Now eating real food since August, have slowly continued gaining weight, a 1/2 lb a week on average 😭 Very concerned at what my body is doing and am seeing a counselor to work through the possibility this could be grief related? The weight gain started right after my workplace started mistreating me last year. Confident we will figure it out. Been a challenging journey. Friends and family share their support and love consistently knowing I struggle with the unknown reason for consistent weight gain.

@@HeatherEndeavors wow!!! Did you guys ever dial back to like a three and three to see if less fueling‘s a day would fix what was going on with the digestive tract? You poor thing! It’s been very rare in my eight years to ever have somebody that without some tweaks couldn’t get things figured out on program but there are a few that it has been that way for them. Were you throwing up, diarrhea, constipated, what was going on?

@@Gwen_Peterson_ yes 3-3 for a week, every suggestion to stick with program. Even after I stopped fuelings it was around 3 weeks that I started having an appetite again for any food... I forced myself to eat bc my body didn't want to accept anything after that... very weird reaction. I've personally seen so many succeed with optavia, I liked the fueling flavors too! Yes, after 2 weeks I was throwing up after most fuelings every day.

I've played tennis my whole life like hardcore so being on 5and1 has been a bit physically and mentally tough because I can't play at all anymore. I picked up 1 day a week on month 3 and I'm not sure if I can play because my weight loss has been much less than before! 😭

What if the scale is moving but I havnt seen inches lost for the past few months I’ve noticed my scale reads 191.6 but I havnt noticed any inches move. am I doing something wrong I walk a lot too

Miriam Pincus No. Sounds like you’re doing everything right. There’s never any rhyme or reason if the scale or the inches are going to move simultaneously or separately. But as long as one of them is moving, that’s all that matters. Keep up the good work
