That is still considered pretty good for a 1900cc motorcycle with that much power! Nothing at all to complain about and taking under consideration there are other motorcycles out there with half the power that will give you same gas mileage.

On my second Raider, could have gotten a Harley with settlement money, (dude pulled out in front of me in intersection ouch) but I loved my Raider so why get something else! Like you, I get asked all the time it it's a Harley, and I just smile and shake my head "nope". I love it.

My 1340cc softail has all the power I'll ever need and guess what I couldn't care less if your faster than me. My bike will easily break any speed limit by 40 mph what more do you need.

They didn't. The 1900 Motor was so successful that it's in their largest V-Twin flagship models such as the Venture. Same motor, cosmetic updates and some mechanical updates. Just as reliable, fast and fantastic. The way they designed the newer touring models, it's in essence, soul and character, a Raider/Roadliner/Strat. Go test ride one and you'll see exactly what they did! Very clever!

I have a 2012 raider the clock goes to 140 but the highway patrol said i was doing 143. Pretty close to the revlimiter

Does the raider have 5 gears or 6?

Toolmanhenderson: unfortunately it is a 5 speed... or atleast that is what my 2010 Raider has. I'm not sure if a 6 speed was an option in the future or no, but I don't think it was. My bike sounds like it's screaming at interstate speed.

I owned one as well. Great bike! Moved on to a Raider in 2014, actually this bike is almost exactly like mine, same color /but i had a tail tidy with smaller lights on it and Cobra Speedster pipes on it with their auto fuel tuner. It sounded just like this one.

The road star only ever game with a 1600 or 1700, unless you had a built motor it wasn’t an 1800.

Transmission problems on those

Jayson Leavelle I rode an Eluder a few weeks ago, it’s smoother and feels stronger than a Raider. I know it’s the same engine but maybe different mapping. I’m a bit partial to Yamaha but it was the best bike I’ve ever ridden.

Paintcan 57 I also test rode the eluder about 2 months ago. When first announced the new bikes we're going air cooled vtwin, from water cooled v4 I was not amused. I love my 06 Royal Star Venture and would have favouree the newer vmax engine. But I must say the eluder was a nice ride. Then engine was responsive and snappy. Not looking to move from my RSV but if I had to I could see owning it or the TC. Can't say that about the Indian I demoed. Nice looking (chieften) but not as smooth and didn't fell as zippy. Also not a fan of Indian's implementation of fly by wire throttle. Way too twitchy.

The comfort of your passenger will depend on what rear seat you put on it. The stock rear seat is a little lacking..

How does the HD power compare to the Yamaha?

@@craigmax3779 Not as powerful. It's also 300+ lbs heavier. The Stratoliner would snap your head back when you twist the throttle. But the lack of a 6th gear did make highway rides less enjoyable. The HD still has enough power. It's not slow by any means and the 6th gear and cruise control at 75 mph can lull you to sleep.

Yes the parts are still available. I have a Raider. Some times it make take a week for the parts to come in but they are available.

Raider by a substantial amount if both riders know their bike with a hot tire.

I've gone from MD to NC and back comfortably on mine.

Go to this site - smartpartz.com/SPZVHBR.html They have what you need . A small set of Baffles that fit inside of the original Vance & Hines baffles. You will keep the beefie sound but reduce the volume by half . I had this setup on my Raider.

Break out maybe? Maybe vrod somewhat but the bike isn't really anything like a vrod. These really are awesome bikes. They sound really good too. My cousin has one (my main experience with raiders) and he loves his.

I'm 5'3" and own a 2013 Raider just like in the video. It sits low enough for me to handle. So if I can so can you. It is a Bad Mo.Fo.! Pulls hard.

Harleys are safe....tough to get in trouble with no power...and they make seats for fat folks....if you got a hot girl, put her ass up on the back of a 600CC race rocket, so we all get the money shot. If you want reliability, reasonable cost, and the wind in your face, buy a Japanese bike, 5 yrs old, from someone who thought it would be cool to won a motorcycle...I just saw a 5 yr old VMAX for 10K....(not a beginner bike, but more Smiles/gallon than any harldly out there) buy a smaller bike and get comfortable...I had a V45 initially, plenty of beginner power, could ride two up, and got me 2 yrs of practice before I jumped to a 92 VMAX....dumped the 600$ bike in a sand patch....never dropped the VMAX...LOVE MY RAIDER.....still have the VMax....someone offered me 3K for the Vmax, sight unseen last year...said NO! It's worth more to me....sent them 4 CL ads for the same bike for 4 K....told them to go bug one of them.

We have two. They have never overheated. We live in the Black Hills of South Dakota and ride all day up and down mountain passes, no problems. Love the bikes.
