I kinda don't blame Sol for being full Bullshit Blazing in Strive. When you finally get your lover back after all the crap you've been through, you'd feel pretty unstoppable right about now.
I know, but nothing will make me seethe more than me doing multiple intricate combos to slowly but surely drain his health without getting hit once, but then getting hit by his 5k and having 3/4 of my healthbar go bye bye. And then the rest of it being claimed by volcanic viper.
I always thought that Arcsys was using Sol as a test for how crazy they want the game to get, and I'm pretty sure the patch proved me largely right. Characters are just so much more fun after it, and it was the "small" patch.
I just want to mention that Ramlethal has a move that does 100 damage and devs deemed it to be "too damaging" so it cannot be canceled into to avoid her doing way too much damage during combos. Now Sol has a DP that does 135 damage...
@@nikoazure5235 did they buff everyone to the point that Sol isn’t useful? I just got the game recently and I haven’t seen him at all. I’m playing in floors 6 and 7 if that matters.
I see the match with nago and anji playing in the background and my first thought is "oh so they're showing a low tier against a high tier to accentuate anji's overall weaknesses or something" then I remembered this was relatively early in strive's lifespan and was like "oh they thought nago was bottom tier back then"
As a Ky main, I actually love fighting Sol. If I can beat the character that is basically just a better me, then that’s the honest Ky gameplay I strive for. It’s always Noontide for me.
I don't think they're ever gonna completely nerf Sol, but what I hope they do is buff the weaker characters so they can deal with the top tiers' tools better.
this helped alot after fighting a Celstial Sol last night in the park, i managed to get two wins but holy fuck was it hard to not get pissed off and quit, i needed that experince and this has shown me what i really need to look out for. I am still new to fighting games so cut me some slack and if you are currious i play Ramlethal.
Yeah I guess he has a lot of advantages but everything you described is just fun to do as a sol player, so I hope everyone else just gets buffed up closer to his level (which seems to be the direction they're going)
@@brunobuzzatti1134 from what I've gathered (pre patch), Its because he's the only character that feels like he's got multiple ways of going about what he wants to do, while most of the cast was kinda stuck doing one or two ways given how different their movesets are compared to Xrd. It gives people more freedom to play how they want with the character, which is why a lot of people ive seen want the rest of the cast to be like Sol, to have that freedom
Sol was not a top tier. He was THE top tier, and I think its what the game needed in order to force the other characters to get buffed enough to keep things more interesting, less limiting.
So this is what my friends feel like when I complain about broken characters in Smash Ultimate. I have no idea what you're talking about right now because I don't play this game.
I just like jumping over Sols Heavy Mob Cemetery in Strive. In my levels (floor 4, Im new to FGs), Sol players just dont expect people to know how to counter/dodge this super, so seeing them stand still for like half a second always makes me giggle and stay in a good mood, even if I lose the set.
I'm not gonna get the chance to play GGST any time soon and haven't played any version of it in the past. I have NO idea about the lore. But once you said he was the protagonist of the story, you said all I needed to know lol. Liu Kang in MK also gets top tier privilege. Batman and Superman were also atrociously good in the Injustice series.
He's not the best it's just that his basic abilities are better than everybody else's 🤷and he has practically no weaknesses and very high damage that's all
Lmao legit the footage of him getting counter hit randomly is so funny cause like most gio mains I fight are missing their brains apparently and just press buttons
Yeah he’s the best, but I personally it’s because he uses strives systems and his move set the best out of the rest of the cast. I hope in the future that every character will be like this and can’t wait to see it.
i think that you're assuming im these kinda of videos that the players are at least fairly skilled. let me tell you something: despite all fo this insane potential that sol has, i can guarantee you that at least 60% of players don't even know about it. yeah, it's ridiculous yhat you can get >100 damage off an unreactable move, but only quite serioua players are going to know about this combo in the first place.
Yeah, Sol isn't meant to be a neutral oppressor like KY, he's meant to get the games going fast cuz otherwise he'd be floored by chars like Axl, Ram or Nago.
seeing this video in my feed, now of all times gives me a visceral sense of pleasure given how the game has changed since then. sol was a teacher and some of y'all just didn't want to learn
@@BRAZILIAN_MIKU The long and short of it now is that sol's probably no longer top 5 due partially because of nerfs but mostly because of other characters getting really good buffs as well as the addition of new characters that are able to stuff sol out more effectively As far as changes to sol specifically that are notable, pushback on his standing normals and some of his specials were increased so now his most basic Gatling is inconsistent at it's furthest range and his most basic block string is no longer true or safe at most ranges Bandit revolver is now a manual rekka making his carry potential much stronger off of certain confirms but both hits are unsafe on block and whiff 2D now combos into bandit revolver because it was basically a dead button with not much reward to it 2S is now larger and more disjointed making it a much more important neutral tool despite it's recovery Basically, he has to make riskier gambles to maintain pressure and keep presence in neutral but his damage has remained largely unchanged if not improved in some cases
@@BRAZILIAN_MIKU So in addition to complaining about sol as people are still doing for the same exact reasons, they are now complaining about the characters that previously were seen as "the heroes that can stand up to Sol" And also happy chaos So yeah, as a sol player, i can sit back, relax and tell them "you got what you asked for. Hope it was worth it" and still casually crank their RISC gauge as easily as I did before
akuma in tekken is mind numbingly fucking busted it is so bad that when i was playing tekken with like 600hrs of play im just like fuck it i played street fighter when i was fucking 6 i got this i shouldnt have gotten it but i did one of the easiest combos in tekken to me does 75% hp
When a 3 frame normal and a +2 mid with 10 frame startup are the most annoying things you have to worry about, things are relatively easy for you. HS Volcanic Viper is too damaging though, that's fair.
After the hell that was the Happy Chaos meta, I bet a lot of Sol haters secretly wished he'd stayed overpowered just so they had a way to deal with the Gun Man :^)
It’s so funny. I just got this game about a week ago and I find it funny that I haven’t fought a single Sol online yet. Did the patches nerf him out of the meta?
@@henriquefinger935 thanks. I finally ran into one but it felt like I just lost because I didn’t know how to stop rush-ins as Faust not because he was crazy op. I’m still on Floor 6 though so character are probably way less important
As a beginner charge inputs feel very beginner friendly which is a big reason i play charge characters. Tho I cant get over G president of the world more like president of fun
I haven't really played Guilty Gear and I don't plan on to because here's the thing with the game. While it's a great fighting game and has a great netcode the game doesn't fit my playstyle and everything.
