Beautiful Arrowhead Provincial Park! There is so much to do and see at Arrowhead near Huntsville Ontario, from the big bend lookout, to Stubb falls, Arrowhead Lake and the large private campsites. Arrowhead Provincial Park is one of our favourite Ontario Parks. Stick around as in this video we explore:
- Stubb's Falls
- Big Bend Lookout
- Kayak the Little East River
- Kayak Arrowhead lake
- Explore Roe Campground
- Explore Lumby North and South Campgrounds
- and much more!
Stick around till the end to see the conclusion! Arrowhead is located just outside of Huntsville, Ontario, if you need to get supplies, groceries etc. it's only minutes from the park!
We went to the park around the in early June of 2022

if you just buy a day pass, and dont want to stay overnight, can you still setup a tent somewhere? Without reserving the camping spot.

Not on a campsite, you would need to book a campsite to do that

Arrowhead is a very nice place; I have been there many times. A few points to share: - many of the sites are prone to flooding when it rains... total mud-fest - if you are in tents, you will be on gravel / mud. I have yet to see a grass site like at Four Mile Creek (Youngstown) - some of the [paved] roadways are terribly potholed... like axle-breaking bad - there are no toilet facilities near any of the beaches - Lumby and East River is close enough to highway 11 to hear traffic (large truck) noise all night long - staff is friendly, beaches are nice, outhouses are kept very clean.

Thanks for posting the additional comments, agreed with all although we never experienced flooding on the campsites, guess we have been lucky with the weather 😊,

Good video. We just spent 7 nights at Arrowhead and had a good time, however I'm not sure we would go back anytime soon with so many other parks to explore. We were in 412 at Roe and were very glad to have that campsite. Our first couple of days were spent waiting out incessant rain. Our site had a bit of a slope so water drained away....and thankfully we were in our trailer. Many sites around us were flooded and waterlogged...including 404. I felt for the people in tents. The registration process has also changed for this year. Arrowhead is now paperless so you either register online beforehand or go to the visitors center to register. You find that out at the gate with a small little sign. The outhouses were a little disappointing as there was only one per road. Although they are flush toilets, there is no sanitizer, lighting or garbage receptacles. They must have had a big storm before we got there as the roads leading down to the beaches had gullys from being washed out both at the main beach and at Roe so it was challengi g getting our canoe downto the water...even with the cart. The Roe parking lot at the beach was still flooded when we left and there was more rain forcasted. The water levels were high too which was great for canoeing and swimming, but made the beach area smaller which made them very crowded, especially if you include day use users. We loved Stubb Falls and Big Ben lookout. We brought our bikes to go biking, but found many paths with too many roots sticking out so we kept to the roads and hiked instead. You weren't kidding about the unmarked paths! You had to really watch the narrower ones for poison ivy. Since we had our grandchildren with us, I found the lack of a playground odd. The visitors center is meh, but at least it has plenty of parking. It would be nice to visit this park in the winter. Enjoy your videos!

Great insight, definitely recommend going in the winter and renting a cabin there!

Great video.....you should have launched your kayaks from the Lumby dog beach as you can pull right up to the water.

Informative video! We were here in October 2021 for a day and liked it immensely. It was a bit crowded though. However, we will be camping here again in June 2023. I think shoulder month of June will be better to visit.

Thank you, we find June or early September the best times, it's not as busy then typically at the end of September/early October is when all the folks come from everywhere to check out the leafs in and around highway 60
