Just moved down from a Glock 48 to a Glock 42. What a difference especially in t-shirt and shorts weather. I love both Glocks but will carry the 42 much more.

Likely the majority of the problems can be traced to not using an actual "gun belt" with the proper stiffness as apposed to a regular flimsy dress belt.

Exactly I have the good old tactical nylon belt and thick leather gun belt . Gun belts make a whole difference . And I can’t carry a large pistol anymore. I only carry single stacks like p-10m or bp9cc or 1911. If I can’t carry it I won’t buy it

One thing that will make concealment easier is to consider single stack models. They're thinner and lighter.

I was born and grew up in a part of D.C. that was not so good. Guns were a part of life, and we all carried. It was reality. Small guns like Astra Cubs, Beretta Jeffries, and small .22 revolvers were the main guns. With D.C. being an anti gun environment, deep concealment was needed. My barber shot a man who tried to hold up is small barber shop, and he used a little High Standard derringer he kept in his barber smock. Never mess with an Italian barber in his own shop. In the late 1980's I bought two small North American Arms mini .22 revolvers. In 1988 one of them saved my. life. It's true that .22 does not have one shot stopping, it took two rounds to end the attack. Retired and moved to Texas in 2015, so now I can carry legally, but still carry the NAA .22 mini revolvers in my pocket. One in each front pocket. No matter how I'm dressed in hot Texas weather, I am armed with the two ,mini's. That gives me 10 CCI stingers on tap. That Glock back home ain't worth a thing, but the .22 in the pocket that nobody knows about will save your butt. In 2017, the mini .22 saved me again, this time legally, so no problems hanging around until the police got there. Since moving to Texas I don't bother to own a gun that won't fit in my pants pocket. Pocket guns rule.

I love shooting my full size 1911, but it's too heavy (~40 oz empty) to carry (I'm 75), so I pocket carry either a Sig P238 (19 oz loaded), or P938 in a Sticky holster. I have equipped each with an ArmaLaser, as it comes on as soon as you grip the gun. These Sigs have night sites, but the laser helps these old eyes.

It took me awhile to save the $85 for a Colt Cobra in 1968 when we were mandated to be armed off duty. Carrying my issued 4” Colt Official Police was uncomfortable trying to conceal it, especially in warm weather. In retirement my EDC is either a Smith 340PD or Ruger LCP.

I carry a Walther PDP Pro SD, no issues , 100% reliable and I know I’ll hit what I intend to. As Clint Smith said a hand gun is supposed to be comforting not comfortable, and as Massad Ayoob once said “friends don’t let friends carry mouse guns”.

From about 1900 until less than a decade ago, most law enforcement officers lived according to a rule and regulation of continuously being armed, and most openly carried the S&W K frame on duty and a J frame off duty and as a concealed back up. Since 1990 there has been a transition by now total to Glock full sized and compact in uniform and subcompact off the clock. An example for armed citizens. Own more than 1 size sidearm for specific circumstances. Military personnel when armed packed full sized service pistols openly while the "spooks" carried concealed. Be routinely armed to get to the rifle.

I have a friend that carries a Russian designed, East German manufactured Makarov. About the size of a Walther PPK, but 3/8" thicker. Shoots a 9X18 cartridge, so is a little more powerful than the Walther, but less than a 9X19. He bought it back in 2001 for $115. Use good ammo and it seems to never jam.

Right on Mark! At 75 years old, I lost my need to carry my Glock 23 cannon around all day. I transitioned it to my home defense unit, and after trying a couple other smaller units, I have found my favorite with an S&W M&P Shield 9 ez. It is light, "easy" and an all-around fun unit to carry.

I mentioned this before, but it fits this video. Recently purchased a Kimber K6xs 6-shot, 38spcl +P, revolver, 17.5oz loaded, carry speed clip JIC. But why? I’m starting to travel now that I’m semiretired. I live in Polk County, Florida, the sheriff Grady Judd is very 2A friendly, but not everywhere I go is that going to be the case. DA is going to have a hard time selling me as a maniac when I’m carrying that weapon for self defense. And btw, it shoots wonderfully, is beautifully made, and only paid $599 at the big box store when I purchased it. I know the airweght’s are cheaper, but I wanted the extra shot.

There is literally no excuse to not be carrying if you are within the legal parameters to do so. It literally shocks me how many people pitch a fit about how heavy a piece of steel is... Unless you are doing a lot of physical labor or are in a work environment that is not permissive to carry, you should be carrying a compact to full size gun in my opinion. Big enough to fight with, more reliable than smaller options, easier to reload and manipulate, easier to clear a potential malfunction, easier to draw, easier to be more accurate with, etc. All you have to do is find a carry system that works for you. I carried compact to full sized handguns in legal but non permissive work environments and never had a problem. A job is replaceable, life is not, so carry the best tool possible to protect the irreplaceable.

My workplace is a non-permissive environment for a VERY good reason: Chemical fumes likely in the building would NOT mix well with muzzle flash. I don't like leaving a gun in my car in the parking garage for numerous reasons, so it stays at home on work days. Otherwise, yeah, I carry my CZ PCR or my CZ P07 if I am not likely to be in a non-permissive environment. Statistically, I'm more likely to have use for first-aid supplies than I am a firearm, and I never leave the house without a small trauma kit in a Live the Creed wallet (some QuikClot, some gloves, and a SWAT-T tourniquet that doubles as a compression bandage to hold gauze in place if a tourniquet isn't necessary). I have "owie-boo-boo" kits close by wherever I am, too.

However I have to wear a jacket or large short over top of it to help with the printing issue. It's ok in the colder months but now that warer weather is here it's on the uncomfortable side. What I need, even though the capacuty is much lower is something slim and skinny for pocket carry. I;m tninking of outting a ruger es9 on layaway

I actually do not need a new gun. I have plenty of them and plenty of ammo for all of them. Besides, people who buy guns right now are inserting themselves on to a list they don't want to be on. The guns should have been purchased long ago. You MIGHT get away with getting one without trouble now...maybe. I'm certain it's going to come back on all new buyers though, they'll be the first ones visited.

But if I did I'd go with a small 22 revolver otherwise I'd never carry it, and with a 22 LR I'd feel 1000X more armed than I am now.

@@MikeStallings2023 well guess what you win the prize because I'm a retired cop having retired after 44 years furthermore I've been shooting Firearms since the 1960s as well as collecting them since the 70s and 80s. I think I may be just a little bit better qualified than you. I've seen 22 caliber as well as 380 caliber fail to penetrate thick and heavy clothing. So like the preacher says you go to your church and I'll go to mine. I recommend you never ever carry under a 38 caliber or a 9mm for a semi-auto I don't care what all of these 22 caliber nuts are preaching out there. 22 caliber exist for varmints and targets and that's it. Now if that was the only thing I had on me well of course however from experience I would never put myself in that kind of position so all I can do is give out my advice based on my years of experience. By the way what did you plan on doing with that pen writing out your last will and testament after your mace fails and the bad guy out of the goodness of his heart is giving you a minute or two to pray.. please don't make me laugh hahaha

@@edljnehan2811 The point of the video is that people are not carrying at all. I see this a lot, people recommend 9 mm Glocks to newbies and they go to a range once and hate it, put it in a drawer and forget about it. 9 mm is too big for most newbies and they want a safety.
@edljnehan2811
@edljnehan2811 3 месяца назад
@@MikeStallings2023 Mike may I recommend then that you give them a 38 with regular ammo not plus p. Little to no recoil and the revolver itself is the safety because most of them have transfer bars. I know little old ladies that carry those. If the person is that recoil sensitive then they need to go to the range until they get used to it I mean in a real life self-defense scenario they are not going to be firing a bunch of rounds. I believe this would take care of the problem however if someone persists on a 22 I guess they better still go to the range and learn some pretty awesome shop placement from the neck up. Like I said I've seen 22 and 380 caliber that barely damaged a thick mens heavy leather jacket like one you would wear in the winter. In my way of thinking I just wouldn't want to chance it when in real life you get so few chances at successful shot placement. Myself I carry a Ruger SP101.357 Magnum with five shots for the home I have a Taurus tracker.357 Magnum that holds seven shots. It's a 2019 so I'm sure it's good on the reliable Factor. For EDC I was considering a 327 Magnum for the extra couple of shots it holds. However I won't carry a semi-auto anymore due to arthritis in the hand real bad. Even a legend like myself has an illness that causes a bad hair day LOL
