I checked out the Bristell ELSA on my trip to NY. This is the flight video from that trip. My first impression of the Bristell light sport aircraft is that it’s one beautifully designed airplane. both inside and out, this is just a great looking airplane. After sitting in the airplane, I became more impressed.
When you sit in a Bristell, you’ll notice that your position is quite up right. You see over the cowling and propeller. I personally like that. The model airplane we’re flying today is an experimental light sport. For the light sport model, your options will be limited because lsa have their limitations in gross weight and engine performance. But if you opt for an experimental model of the Bristell, suddenly you’ll have many more options to add to your airplane. Options like the more powerful Rotax 915 engine, a constant speed prop, IFR equipments, and the list goes on.
Flying this Bristell was a blast, especially in the cool cool air of NY. The aircraft flew nicely and one main thing I noticed particularly with the control stick is that if felt very sturdy; meaning it stays right in place wherever you put it without wobbling around. The Bristell is also quite sporty in flight and the controls are nice and gentle. The sturdiness almost feels like you’re flying a non-lsa, if that’s even a word.
This aircraft is clearly not for everyone, but for those who want a modern and well built light airplane. I would definitely look at a Bristell

Another great video Bristell produces a first class light sport aircraft... Because we love you.... I remind you that next time please tighten up those straps because the downside of the canopy like that is that if that plane drops in turbulence, you'll be unconscious when your head hits the canopy... You really need to strap yourself down tight in that plane (I know you didn't want to ruin your fancy coat... LOL) seriously, thanks for sharing this with us. I look forward to your next video

Very nice Mojo. I'm still going to get a modified rv6. Inline seating but single person around the world capable long range cruiser. Is that possible? Doing loops and barrel rolls with 2 people, or kicking them out and using the same weight for fuel? 30 extra gallons=70 gallons and 120 lbs of gear. 1,400 Mile range or 1,100? I don't know but 300,000 grand better buy me that or I'll get the stemme glider.

I have a Cessna 205, but would like something more gas efficient and modern panel. Bristell - Parachute? Mike - You're videos are the BEST! I watch them all and learn so much - I'm really interested in the LS category as the cert is much less expensive, plus... 5GPH is a huge selling point for me, less pollution, - just seems like the way to go. Some of these LSA planes have a BSR or chute and that would greatly increase the odds of my family members climbing in one. Bristell - Parachute?

Nice bird bit OUCH! The price point for all new birds is just too much out of reach for the $20k to 60k incomes. The majority of those that want to fly. Thankfully there are a multitude of used factory aircraft and experimental aircraft that aren't out of reach. One of many is my Tailwind W8 with a W10 wing. Excellent performer on 100hp. Though not qualified as a light sport for a total of under 30k a person could own one including getting their full on pilots license. There are a lot of these and others out there so getting checked out is not a difficult process. Want a ride? Come see me at KY70. Ionia, Michigan.. Doran Jaffas

Flew in one a few weeks ago out of Lancaster PA. It was a nice flight even though it was pretty bumpy. Never flown in a LSA before , flown in a warrior and 172 so the Bristle at 900 pounds makes for a pretty bumpy ride. Could imagine on those 90 deg + days what's it like. If you're looking to get a LSA ticket, just be prepared for possibly some rough days. If you don't have the stomach for sudden drops then stick with the heavier trainers where the flights are not as bad in the summers. Especially if the training area is over farm lands , lots of black tops and mountains.

@timothyrex8734 5 лет назад
The electrical system draws power from a generator. It's enough, but you don't get a ton if extra amperage. I'm a CFI specializing in the Bristell LSA. Whenever we go flying, we've got the dual G3X, the G5, two fuel pumps, and the lights on. With all that on, the ammeter generally reads 0 or +1. If you turn off the auxiliary fuel pump and the landing lights, you might be able to get that number up to +2 or +3.

I quite agree except at 130k$ base, isn't it the lowest priced LSA of them all? I firmly believe there is a great market for someone who understands that a nice plane can be quite profitable at 50k. Single piece wing with mostly single piece body attached to the wing. And getting a rotax like engine certified without the ridiculous price. Either some fairly cost effective minimal glass or develop own. Computer gear these days can be dirt cheap and put two in for redundancy, you should be good. Fully independent with a small battery backup in each. 50k is real money. 130k is very real money. 220k is crazy money. There is also great opportunity for making a clearer interface. Glass products are way too legacy cluttered. So stupid.
