Hello, and welcome to MojoGrip. My name is Mike. I'm a serial entrepreneur who shares his passion for business and aviation. Here you will find videos dedicated to airplanes, flying and self growth.
It's cruise speed is 300kts at altitude. I'm surprised it's max indicated airspeed is just 256kts. It looks like it would have a higher VNE than that. My Glasair 3's VNE is 291kts. But look at what those 3s did in Reno. Way over that. And with pumped up piston power.
Totally a guess but what might to be an ongoing decline in general aviation interest could also have been a factor. And yes, that would apply to all aircraft manufacturers, but Icon might not have had the buffer margin to manage the added shenanigan. Hopefully the engineering, design and lessons learned will not be lost.
Ridiculous design for a ridiculous price marketed to wannabe pilots. Doomed from the start. Think Terrafugia, Cessna 162 Skycatcher; ideas that underperformed, underdelivered and priced themselves out of the market competing with legacy certified used aircraft. Every decade someone’s got a new idea trying to reinvent the wing. They find investors and creditors and even some customers and then fail spectacularly. Rinse and repeat, suckers born every minute willing to throw their money away. Aviation is unforgiving.
Your continued misuse of the term "ultralight" detracts from your video. If you are a licensed pilot, you should know ultralight versus light sport types and the requirements for each. Blackshape Prime is a nice airplane for those who can afford it.
Hopefully JMB can revitalize the plane. I know they are working hard at it, but still much to be done. Insurance costs will be a big issue until they can get more flight hours logged.
I expect you speak with a lot of the manufacturers. Any clues you can get from them on what they might put out after MOSAIC gets put in place (homebuilt and LSAs)?
Let me ask one question. What does this guy do for a living? Shall use jets. So at 30 5:00 hours it's a bad idea to have the engine. Check. See if it's still functional. Just like it's a bad idea to change your oil in your car every 50000 miles. Or about 3 times a year. Oh, it would probably be cheaper to buy New England and drop them in the plane. Send the old ones And sell the old ones Back Pratt and whitney After all, you get to 4 and a 1/2 a million dollars for a jet. Why are you spending another half? A million on something I'll keep you alive
If you can't pass medical, you shouldn't be flying anything. That is not a standard that should be lowered. But they are because boomers own most of the planes, and boomers are the ones running the FAA.
If I want to fly from Minneapolis (KMIC) to Denver, what airport in Denver area (I prefer east side) that is not DEN and not too bad for a newer pilot who is not yet familiar with mountains? Is that trip too long for the DA-20? Is the Rotax engine something to avoid?
Really appreciate the transparency here. Many RU-vidrs do everything they can to HIDE how much they make. Like Marques Brownlee, who makes over $10 million a year, accidentally showed his screen that revealed that number in a video, then immediately edited the video, blurring out the number. Nothing is more infuriating than someone who's made millions because of their viewers, then goes out of their way to hide how much they make. I really wish those narcissists would lose everything any people like you, who are open and honest, would pick up their subscribers. Also, can we pause for a moment and recognize how out of touch a person has to be to think that making $6k off a single video isn't that much is?
