Been training the handstand for close to 10 years now. Can’t stand when people say they learned it in a week. Really I can show or people can learn a “handstand “ in a day. But in order to hold it, make it look easy and graceful is a whole other thing. Like anything in life there are levels to it.
I love this content. The type of videos that are not as extreme as those that have been doing it for years like Chris Heria, you’re documenting the transition to be able to achieve all those higher skills and in-between. Much love bro
Been training calisthenics for about 4 months and came across your videos a few days ago. I’m an old 45 year old dad but wanted to let you know your videos are solid. I really enjoy your content. Keep up the good work!!
This was the best. Video you have done in quite a while Colin.. we absolutely love this… We loved the history lesson.. We loved how you gave your back history trying to learn it.. We loved your step by step head stand plan.. We loved your one on one talk all the way through.. Best part was the last.. the supermarket stand.. and walking on your hands.. so beautiful we cried.. Thank you for this one.. a treasure indeed it is💜💙🦋
There is no way I got this in my recommended now…I just honestly was feeling so hopeless and even cried yesterday thinking that I couldn’t do this since I have been really inconsistent with HS training and thought maybe I just couldn’t do it. I was just feeling so down and I just don’t wanna kick up into a HS and now I see this video😭
This video is meditating. But for real I am currently working on it and the main thing is to stick with it. Some make progress fast some slower (like me) But it's a challenge worth to pursuit. It's fun and learning these skills made me look at gym training differently. It's kinda relaxing sometimes. I honestly love it! Thank for the video this gave some extra motivation ❤
Hell yeah, ive been hitting little 5 second holds here and there after training it on and off for a few months. Feels great. Learn to love the process!
i've been considering doing handstands for a while now but never got the encouragement to try it out, i think this is my sign to finally go for it also i want a random bee fact
Hahaha I have mad useless knowledge of so many strange things from obsessions. Handstands have stuck ! This was a lovely video. Happy handstanding my fellow free stander ❤
Cool stuff! If you would have worn a black sweater while doing the handstand for the "H" and "Y" the effect in the thumbnail would be waaaay better. Cheers bro!
Don't put too much pressure on your wrists and shoulder when starting out. Always warm up. Being heavy helps with building muscles because it makes the exercises much harder.
nah, the real reason you should practice the handstand is so if you visit australia you wont fall off. also, a video on how to pen spin would be cool. its a neat party trick and it makes u look like a badass if u can do it effortlessly
I really do want to learn the handstand but would you recommend any breaks or like recovery times for optimal progression. You know how you shouldn't train the same muscle over and over because it needs time to rest and recover. does the same a apply to learning one particular skill and if so what would you suggest. Attempts for like 1 hour every other day?
It’s something you can train a lot I would do do 15 minutes of handstands 4-5 days a week I have a video teaching it on my channel if you need more info
It's kinda uncomfortable at first but like he showed in the video you can do stuff like frog stand or pike hold to get your body used to being upside down. Then move to handstand on the wall to increase your time and comfortability in the handstand. I can do like a max 3 sec handstand and I don't really feel the blood rushing to my head anymore when I'm in that position. My mind is more focused on breathing correctly and having good form and such.
As a person who have vertigo, you endure it. I just open my eyes and let the vertigo slowly fade away. Eventually, I was like "WHAT MY VERTIGO IS NO MORE?!" (I was cured from doing the thing that internet doctor told me not to) I just kept going and kept on doing it over and over again.
I think hanstand is a like a love/hate relationship. I just hit 10s free hold facing the wall this week and the balance is going to the love way but I know once I get stuck it will be on the other side and wont do it for 3months😅
i habe been doing handstand for don't know how much time. but when i tried to do a free handstand i landed on my spine i did it when i feel like it and i feel on my spine again today and i feel slight pain in my spine
"So I welcome you to train the handstand with me." That sounds an awful lot like "hot gym bros in your area want to know your location." If I lived even remotely close, I'd trip over myself for the opportunity to train the handstand with you.
