Looks like they brought cryo nerf in with this patch. I was expecting it to come with the full update but it looks like it happened. But even with the nerf the Blaster is still very nice and worth having, although the best first legendary star may not be two shot any more.
That's crazy, it was just nerfed. 😬 I really want to try this and the Disintegrator. I don't get why Bethesda would nerf the only viable pistol in the game.
The disintegrator is really bad unfortunately. I never got to try it with a two shot cryo mod but it has a far lesser fire rate than the pistol, that alone made it not fun to use.

Will it do fine for most normal enemies, if I enjoy firing normaly rathering using vats all the time? PS: what armor would you recommend? S-agent armor as always or?
For normal play almost any weapon will do, even a single action revolver with its individual bullet reload LOL, but to properly enjoy the alien blaster I recommend using VATS. The projectiles have travel time so aiming at anything at any distance is a pain. For armor any of the end game gear is good enough. SS gives you balanced resistance, BOS Recon is more ballistic protection, and Civil Engineer gives you better energy resistance. The Civil Engineer is available without gold so if you're just starting out I'd go for that one. But for people with good armor sets, i.e. 1 or 2 great legendary properties on your gear, it's not worth swapping.

@@geraltgrey-mane695 For armour people go for unyielding if they play at low health, or overeaters if full health. But sometimes people get extra sets with specific properties like assassins against humans or troubleshooter's against robots.
So if I'm trying a energy build mainly for pistols should I use this or reg laz pistol? Cause laz pistol does more dam nowby like 30(returning player so sorry if this question is stupid)
Cryo damage got a bit nerfed, so that brought the two shot down to earth. It's probably not the most powerful, but having used it recently it's still very useful IMHO .. just not the obviously best pistol. I used to have a bloody, that I got rid of sadly, and I expect that something like that will still be very effective.
@@TheSticknstone2 Personally I still prefer the alien blaster. No pistol has the fire rate of the blaster and an anti-armor that I randomly got works pretty well. A bit worse than the two shot before the nerf but still very serviceasble.
You should go to the location I showed you and serverhop to pick up as many as you can. Then break them down to unlock the mods. Also, do the alien invasion that's on now as much as possible to get the receiver mods. Unfortunately cryo's been nerfed a bit so two-shot isn't as good. But I'm sure that bloody will still be good.
@@SequentialGamerFalloutagreed but in a world where the flamethrowers all kill things in like 1-2 bullets it’s just kinda gross to have to default to the best of the best too fight bosses, like really it matters a lot when it comes to boss fights when your slingin double the ammo and the player base is being smacked by Bethesda for having some fun with ice weapons. Really if they never released another weapon with an ice effect I could live with that because of how good these weapons were.
Yeah, flamethrowers are pretty powerful. I think that having one of each weapon class be equally best with other types should be the goal. So a cryolater version that gives you the a freezing flamerthrow.
From the patch notes it hasn't come through yet. It felt fine during the Alien Invasions event. Whatever changes happen should come in June with the new season.
@@SequentialGamerFalloutgot nerf to the ground trust me I been a ab blaster main for a a while use to kill a super mutant level 100 in 1 crit 1 normal shot now it’s 3 which doesn’t sound like a big difference but it is. Now it hits like a wet noodle
Is that in the PTS? I haven't tried it against supermutants but it was still pretty capable against deathclaws and the lost at the new event. But yeah, I wasn't counting (too busy spamming the fire button LOL) but 3 hits sounds about right.
@@SequentialGamerFallout they nerfed it, the splash damage from cryo is not that powerful anymore which usually took more shots to kill something. I noticed it in behemoth and mirelurk queen (tougher enemies) the damage is less significantly, the explosion from snowball reduced significantly. It's not that good with two shot anymore but still works. Cryolator which also comes with snowballs like cryo receiver AB, also nerfed so bad it is unusable.
Fair enough, it's been a while since I've used the Alien Blaster so I might be misremembering .. but I have to admit that it did feel like more shots were needed to kill enemies. Still a very good gun I'd say and well worth a look, maybe not god tier like it used to be. To be honest cryo was a little too powerful compared to other elemental effects so we shouldn't be surprised that it got taken down a notch. Although if we're talking about rebalancing, IMHO it wasn't exactly the most pressing issue.
