While it's important to be able to deal with physical threats, it's far more crucial to be able to navigate yourself away from actual physical altercations.
It's for this reason WHY you should consider learning to de-escalate a potentially violent episode.
Here are some reasons WHY you should take the time to hone your ability to de-escalate.

De-escalate so your opponent drops their guard, then use violence on them when they least suspect it! (/sarcasm, for those who would miss it)

One of the least talked about aspects of self defense ( because its not "sexy") but one of the most important.

I think a lot of it is because these are soft skills that are difficult to develop in class. But I disagree that it's not talked about. Most forum posts about self-defense have a bunch of "Lol just run away" instead of addressing the topic at hand.

@@danielskrivan6921 I don’t think running away, qualifies as de-escalation. That would be evasion and escape.

@@dragonballjiujitsu I'm just saying, the idea of "not fighting" gets talked about quite a bit. It just gets dismissed because "What to do if someone takes me down on pavement?" isn't best answered by "Lol don't get taken down"
