I actually like to repeat the same pattern 2-3 times so they "can get a comeback" but then I do something different since I expect their comeback. This way I keep them guessing
U the man brother and an inspiration.. lol i always watch ur vids and implement your moves at my local gym. Especially when sparring taller guys.. it works LOL. obviously better and better the more i do it.. Keep up the great content.
Hey Jeff, just a video idea/request. Might not be your style though. The prep you do just before a fight, specifically warming up and drills, like how long you hit the mitts and what tempo, and personal methods of controlling the adrenaline dump before and during a fight. Think the adrenaline dump is the number 1 thing new fighters arent ready for. Thanks
Hahaha!! Love the humour and honesty of your vids Jeff...you show the f😬😬k-ups as well as the clean and sharp stuff 👏 And look what he got ya with brother! Like a crafty half back-kick, and side-kick...on your liver too, right? Oof! I felt that. 🤣 PS. Please contact Gabriel. He messaged me earlier on his channel saying he’d love to spar with you, because you’re very different to how he moves, and he thinks it would be really interesting rounds. 👌 Get it finalised Jeff bruh! You’re welcome (I’ll take some commission 😆). Seriously, I think it would be really useful for the both of you. Christ, he’s tough for a FW though man...hits like a 154lb easily. 💪 I was actually really surprised to learn that you’re 145lbs bro...you look bigger. 🙏
@@MMAShredded no probs at all brother. I’m a really big fan of both you two. Very different, but both exceptional. 💪 ...just keep away from his dirty boxing. He might look like a Jehova’s Witness, but he’s got dynamite in those hands bruh! 🥊🧨🤣 Just message him man, he totally wants a collab too...and he’s coming up on 100k subs now...literally any day. 👏 It would be a treat for all of us Jeff, seriously man. 🙏 Btw...it’s hilarious you’re known as Jeff ‘Jackie’ Chan! 🤣✌️✊
Jeff my man i had a question! So, 2 months ago i was sparring in muay thai class, when i had an injury to my arm. At first i thought it was a shoulder dislocation but doc said it's not. Anyway, i was almost healed up but not fully until today it happened again! So any advice? P.s. My arm got locked during a wild overhand punch!
Hahah this is exactly how I got rocked in sparring! A gentle reminder is always necessary, but this is a good bait to try something different, especially if you get a good read on your opponent
Kelly Slater (11x World Surf Champion) said that he could mentally visualize himself surfing and that's how he trains. So for Surfing, each wave/beach/country is completely different. So instead of burning out his body the days leading up to a contest, which would make him fatigue at the contest, he sits on the beach and watches the waves and visualizes how he would surf each wave. He's 50 years old and he just won the WSL Pipeline Event... Video games, especially old school wrestling games on consoles had combos: A = Light Strike B = Strong Strike X = Light Grapple Y = Strong Grapple A Combos = A Up + A Down + A Left + A Right + A (all being light strikes) B Combos = B Up + B Down + B Left + B Right + B (all being strong strikes) Etc. If you could assign attacks to the different 'buttons', then you could literally build out combos on paper, Up+A, Left+A, Right+B, and then you could visualize those attack. Then nobody would would be safe from the organized diversity of attacks. GSP did that^ and that's why he was able to takedown anybody. It wasn't just his wrestling, it was his striking diversity that set up easy take downs. He also, "visualized" his fights over and over, applying different combos, their reaction, then his reactive combo. Visualization is the difference between normal people and champions. Chess champions aren't special people, they're just people who have an entire dictionary of moves in their head and it's a game of cause+reaction. They visualize as such a fast pace and many moves ahead... But yeah, pushing that B button over and over and over and eventually your friend will realize what you're doing.
One time I was sparring my older brother and I threw a lead leg kick and forgot he could hit my face while I was doing this, so he threw a hard cross right on my chin and I got a good flash and I didn't know what else to do so I thought to myself "okay he hit me cause I didn't dodge", so I immediately threw another lead leg kick and he tried it again but as soon as the kick landed I ducked down and hit him with an uppercut to counter his straight. It was a good feeling having that land
Not necessary, u can check out SamKor's fights, he is just all about Left kicks and that's still made him one of the greatest Muay Thai fighter of all time. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0AIM6Rih0RI.html Fact: He also beat Saenchai, the one of three considered to be the best techniques in MuayThai of all time...
Lol of course a concept is never 100% true all the time for everyone. But the fact that you had to go for "one the GOAT of muay thai" kind of validates Jeff's point. Samkor is the exception that proves the rule. It's like trying to unvalidate basic boxing defense concepts "just because Ali became the goat without doing it" Lmao
