Thank you so much for the vid, I come from karate, and I've switched to kickboxing not too long ago. the coach at my gym doesn't explain a lot, and in karate we snap kick all the time, like the 2nd example you've shown. deploy the leg first, and then snap to make contact. Ive been doing that for so long i never questioned it, and I kept seeing that my opponents wouldn't be too hurt by my kicks and I always had my foot so swollen and rly hurt, to the point I had to take breaks because I couldnt kick or move around anymore. Such simple advice but lifesaving for someone who always had a bad habit and never second guessed it😊
I like this boy. He is quick, has a very good eye, good answers to almost everything that comes up. He is the best example of when you believe in yourself and don't give up on your dream!
So consistent! Bonus points for mentioning "try to replace their spot". Excellent narrative and super informative. Beautiful technique with a nice use of momentum. I am always amazed at the footage collection you have accumulated.
Thank you for the support :) I try my best to show sparring so people believe. It is all about confidence, especially when I first started learning clinch, I only learned it seeing it with zero resistance so it was difficult to grasp how all the sweeps worked! Even sometimes now, it surprises me how these sweeps can throw your partner in the air!
Congrats on your composure Jeff. I can only hope to reach your level of calmness in situations like this. I remember the last time someone new at my gym was trying the same shit head hunting. Instead of going to give him a contussion (5 years of training mt here) I decided to trough my knee into his shin when he lowkicked hard- Ernesto Hoost style of block. Long story short, the guy had a broken leg and never came back to the gym. I’ll never forget is screaming afterwards
