I felt very attacked by this lol, but also a true look at myself because I need to speak more than just to think.

As for communication skills I learn whole sentences saying them aloud. 5 days - 300 repetitions per day at least. Later I don't need to translate. I know the meaning of words straight away like in my native language. And also I remember the meaning longer than by learning separate words. This method is called: chunking. It was a real game changer in my learning process in English and other languages.😊

Makes so much sense! I've heard so many people say this too, but you broke this down so well. And thanks for all the resources in the description box :)

I'm Ghanaian and I can understand twi but I can't speak it. I've been learning to speak twi and my twi has gotten sooo much better over the years. Also you're so right! You need to communicate in that language and the more you communicate the better you get at a language. This was such a great video! Thanks for sharing 🥰😘💕

Thanks so much! I’ve been going through the same experience with Twi. I grew up with it and was fluent as a kid but unfortunately O stopped actively using it except when I’m in Ghana or speaking to relatives. I’m trying to essentially use my own advice and use ir more to improve.

@@anartisttravels9279 Hey girl! I'm really good at pick up on dialect and sounds so even though I don't understand what I'm saying I know how to say something just by hearing it but what helped me understand is listening to Ghanaian podcasters, I follow a lot of Ghanaian social media influencers who speak twi and I listen to ghana news they speak slower and are more articulate. If you can find Ghanaian documentaries in twi they also articulate and speak slower so it's easier to hear sounds and pronunciations. What Urban Eve said about communication is crucial to learning how to speak a new language. That's just a few things that helped me 😊

@@TheUrbanEve how is listening output?? youre not outputting the information you have learned, listening is input
@selinawithikon2129

Mhh, listening is input and writing is output. Sure, if I just learn sentences by heart and write them down, then it might not be real output. But if I freely write, it is nothing but output. In terms of listening, it is in every thinkable situation input. Other than that, great video. You are so likeable! 🤩
