You have such great videos, I've learned ALOT! I wish you had your practice in NW Arkansas, just moved here from SO CAL last year. I am 65 and require All On Four Procedure. Soooo many doctors don't do sedation. I'm not having this done under local, that's crazy...

It is amazing how accurately RU-vid found this video for me on the first try. I have been a subscriber for several months now -- ever since I began to worry about the experience level and proficiency of my dentist. I thought that I had carefully selected the best dentist I could find near me, but in Mexico. (My budget was $15,000 and I live in the Texas hill country, so I went with Mexico.) Ten implants and $12K later (first five were placed in my lower jaw on my first trip and five in my upper jaw on my third trip), I am wondering if any of them will survive. I currently have three in the mandible that seem to have survived six months. Each of them has a single crown and look decent (all of them are L lower molars). The other two R molars either fell out (painlessly) or were removed after three months on my second visit. It is a five hour drive from my house to my dentist's office, so it is not a minor undertaking. On my third trip in April I had five more placed in my upper jaw to support all-on-five. One has come out after less than a month with denture adhesive attached. One he predicted "might fail" (possibly because it seems to have been place at an oblique angle?), and now two more seem loose enough that they will undoubtedly fail before my August visit. That leaves 1 of 5 in the upper jaw! I was able to adjust to the thought that I would have to protect them with a temporary denture for four months, and I have worn it religiously during my waking hours. Nevertheless, biting-forces seem to have loosened them all sooner or later. I am crushed by the realization that I will be going to my 50 HS reunion with removable dentures! I have gone to great expense to have a local oral surgeon do a C-B CT last month and I am sending the DCM files to my dentist to see what he can do or plan-out for me. But, if possible can North Texas Dental Surgery take over my case, or at least give me a second opinion. I would love to send you the link to this shared Google Drive folder (by email) so that you can see what things looked like ~approx. one month ago? I very much appreciate you and all you do thru RU-vid!!

Ultra informative vid Doc, thank you! My gf has an all on 4 upper hybrid denture and its one of those "botched" examples, with implants going in at obscene angles and screw holes not even remotely lining up with the teeth.. so much so that some of the entry points for the screws are in between teeth, on the inner gum line and worst of all, one is secured Above a tooth on the gum Above it , right under her lip! I dont get this insane placement when ,as u said there should be angled abutments that Should let the screw down point be placed in a more Normal position... anyway, the fit aweful and the upper arch was Much too lrage an arch,as well as the teeth being too big And the wrong color as well.. she left That dentist after he installed that nitemare and wouldnt finish correcting the mess... doubt he could have anyway, short of redoing the entire process...I dont see how such a bad fit could have happenned with all the 3d imaging and molds that were done? It seemed to us that he was late in getting the teeth done on the time he promised..after being almost 9 months total...Without Any teeth...6 month healing after implants, then Another 3 month delay for the lab ....she was given cheapo plastic denture for her upper and some polygrip when the implants were 1st done... she couldnt stand it and never used it so the entire 9 months she went toothless..Bro, this was and is a nitemare scenerio... she left that dentist and went 3 yrs with that contraption on her upper till infection started to rage... now ,present day we are struggling to find Another dentist who is willing to deal with that previous guys mess of an install.. most couldnt even locate Where to drill to expose the screws to remove it.. finally a perodontist was able to find the hidden holes and get 3 screws out and the 4th one is stripped! so she has it still on her held by 1 screw! he is having trouble getting it out and tried slotting the head to no avail.. then used the Salvin toolkit and even with that couldnt back it out.. seems it was way overtorqued... anyway, what a mess! we are to see the perodontist again as he will attempt to drill the head off the remaining screw...if theres a better way to go about this , please let us know! Becuz of this fiasco, she Wants to get a snap on instead so she will never been in this helpless state again of dentists not being able to remove what was installed..

oh man I was getting stressed out reading about this. I'd hate to say this but her best bet would be probably all on 4 again because it can compensate for bone loss. without looking at her 3d scan, I have doubts about whether the implants would be able to be placed in a parallel fashion for an over denture.

Thank you for making such helpful content, it is so helpful in making decisions as a patient. I have had an eating disorder for over 15 year (I am only 31) and have lost a lot of teeth, on the way to losing more if not all due to decay by 40 (multiple dentists have told me this). I am scheduled for implant surgery in one month. The procedure they described is much identical to what you are saying - they did my scans, sounds like I have healthy bone structure.. they are saying that they will do 7 implants instead of "all on 4" though - do you have any pros/cons on this that might be worth learning about? It sounded like this is something that they typically decide to do, it is not just in my case. Thank you for any information you can provide. Thank you for what you do!

yes all on 4 is just a name made by an implant company called Nobel. we often end up placing more than that. if you watch all the videos I have, you can become pretty educated about what you're about to embark on. good luck!

Pro is better stability and less stress and trauma to individual implants. Cons are much higher cost, more trauma and higher chance of infection short and long terms. You will need much more meticulous oral hygiene care which is very difficult to accomplish. Can't brush and floss underneath the prosthesis and around implants. You can't see onset of problems until it's too late. They will congratulate you for making the RIGHT decision but not what to watch for, what to do.

@@Mr-hn2bp Thank you for adding some insight onto this! I am now about 3 weeks out from treatment, it seemed to go well. Feeling good. They decided to do 4 implants on each arch, so the "traditional" implied amount I guess. My doc told me that they decided to do this due to my younger age, so that if I need additional implants in the future, there would be space.

I’m a 25 year old male. Thanks to shitty genetics, being homeless for a period of time, and horrible experiences with dentist I had to make the choice. I went into a office here in utah that has amazing reviews. (They were my 3rd opinion) I needed 24 root canals and all 28 crowns done. The cost was 34k to fix everything and about a year and a half of appointments every 2 weeks. I decided to go with all on 4. The cost was only 45k. I’m 11 days out of surgery today and still am going back and forth on if I made the correct decision. I hope I did. I hope they last my whole life. The finals will be zirconia. What’s your personal opinion. Have I made the right choice? Both for my age and my wallet.

OMG that was rough for your young age. I am no dentist but sounds like all on four is the better choice. But if you have done it, make sure you now take very good care of oral hygiene or you can lose the implants from peri-implantis. I just one single implant because I broke my tooth. But I am scared to get implantis. Really taking good care of my existing teeth, gum and the implant 😅

It's unfortunate that I had to trim my temps into a set that looks somewhat of a 4 in all. The temps I was given were just horrible. I'm not being rude or discurtious to the franchise. They wanted like 200 per adjustment. My teeth were bad but not enough to be pulled but after talking to the dentist, he basically said my teeth are dead and now it's becoming unhealthy. I get it. If that were the case. Idk.. I wish I would of done reserch and gotten a 2nd opinion. I have lost all my abilities to eat, smile, talk, laugh ect... I am only 1 person and now I'm half of that. Sad 😔 but true

I had all on four implants placed 5 months ago. Was told ahead of time the possibility of bone being too soft and implants not being loaded right away. I went for 4 month scan and was told implants arent integrating yet and to see what they look like at 6 months. Should i be worried if at 4 months, they still haven’t integrated? Should i be hopeful that at 6 months they will be? Thank you for any answers you might be able to give.

My implants 3 on 6 got infected my doctor said because my natural teeth got them infected. Is it true? I don’t know what to say also and my implant failed too in my bottom teeth. Now my doctor said you need to pull your teeth out. And my another dentist said you too young to pull your teeth out from your mouth, you can do implants around the bottom teeth.

Honey it sounds like your wisdom teeth are infected. You need to Google see if there are any low income dental clinics near you. Call your county health department. They can pull it for you and they charge based on income. You also need antibiotics for at least 10 days. I had few back teeth that got infected. The infection spread without me feeling anything. It can be life threatening if you don’t get it taken care of.

Is there anyone willing to help? I am 53 years old. I have five daughters, five son in-laws and 15 almost 16 grandchildren. The place that I had my zygomatic implant done at knows how to run a statute out. I am left with a mouthful of zygomatic implant failure, and I am scared for my life. I no longer have the ability to work. I spent all of the money I had on the first surgery, which was done in 2019. I need help so bad I don’t want to stop being a grandparent, or having a life. I need surgery that😢

I am so sorry. You spent a lot of money to restore your smile. They should help you fix it. My mom is 77 years old. She has five individual tooth implants. The first four failed and had to be redone at full price. The fifth one got infected and had to be done again at full price. Now since she had them redone they are fine. Obviously I don’t have the money for implants. Even if I did I would be poor candidate for implants. I had infection that spread to bone. So I will be getting standard removable dentures.

There’s a DDS in Texas who charges very low prices for USA. He’s on RU-vid- if you can travel, see him for consult. He claims he 1st practiced in Singapore. His vids are usually titled dentist “scams”. He looks mid thirties, near blonde curly short hair, is thin, speaks with light accent. He is NOT specialist like Dr Choi here & does not show his office, like Dr Choi who has modern office with modern tech etc = increased overhead costs.

Let me make it CLEAR…. Do not use a chain all in one center where the surgeon does dental & breast augmentations . My CHOICE has turned into a nightmare . I now have to find a way to come up with $70,000 for job and reconstructive surgery. My life is turned completely upside down. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone.
