I got my first tattoo last Sunday. It’s a triskele with a ring of Celtic knot work around it about 6 inches in diameter on my upper arm. Just started peeling last night, can’t wait for the healing process to be over lol
My new tattoo is my 7th one that I got on my upper left arm. It's a memorial to honor my late father. An American flag butterfly(and the body is an anchor),with dog tags hanging from it. Dog tags say US Navy on one and Vietnam Vet on the other. His name and dates of birth and death surround the butterfly.
I got a HunterXHunter tattoo recently. It’s been 2 weeks and I love it. Got a video on my channel about it. But thanks for the advice. I’m sure you’ll help many
Your tips are really helpful as a first timer. I am now on the 6th day of my tattoo healing, and everything went smoothly because of your videos. I got a wolf on my upper outer arm. Will comeback to my artist next month to add more surrounding the area and inside the inner arm making it as a half sleeve.
I’m scheduled for my Japanese style full sleeve, gave my artist 100% creative freedom so I’m not EXACTLY sure what it’s gonna be yet, BUT we discussed a gnarly dragon with a skull in his claws, maybe some pink cherry blossoms and/or Japanese maple leaves and bold traditional Japanese black waves. Super excited to see what he conjures up
why give ur artist 100% creative freedom? this tattoo is yours which you will be carrying for ur whole life, and u really letting someone decide what's it gonna be for u? damn u mad dog
I just got my outer forearm done 7 days ago, a tropical flower arrangement, and I'm in the itchy peeling phase. I can't wait until it's fully healed as I love it already!
Aquaphor is really the best for the first week. After that I use fragrance free lotion and add a small amount of aquaphor on the top. Just a small amount.
Just got my first one today, I died a couple of times, but it was soooo worth it! I got a hyper realistic Princess Leia on my right leg on my calf. It hurt like crazy, but it looks soooo amazing, will send it to you the next time you do live reactions
People get stressed way too quick, just like I did with my first tat.. all mine looked faded for at least a month, sometimes longer. Just give it time and keep up on the aftercare and the colours will get brighter gradually
I’ve just had my fourth Tatoo same aritist. Two weeks in and it looks quite faded. The others didn’t so much and have turned out great. I’ve done the same care with this as the others washed it gently at first then used cocoa butter couple times a day when is been flaky/peeling. Should I wait a bit longer or contact my artist now
I know I’m late to the comments but I’m in love with my new tattoo. It’s a picture of a battleship as an homage to my grandfather who was a commander in the navy and who instilled in me my love of history
I am sure you know but the reason the beak mask is so long is because they used to put rose petals in it as the stench was so awful. Bet you can’t wait I know how exciting it is 😊
47 and having a outer arm top to bottom over 3 days in December. It's also my 1st tattoo, really looking forward to getting it done. Great tips thank you.
I got a viking ship with the Assassin's Creed Valhalla logo on the sail on my chest. To be honest, I freaked out when it started peal, cuz one big chunk of skin from an area with lighter colours feel off and it looked like there was no colour underneath. Now it's been almost 2 weeks, the tattoo looks great, all the details remained there and I couldn't be more happy with it. Keep up the good videos man!
I got my tattoo last 2 weeks, a japanese oriental whole front sleeve koi fish and a straight 9 hours tattoo session. Can't wait to make it a full sleeve.
My husband is a tattoo artist & his brother is a mortician. One of the reasons tattoos fade is the ink is being collected by your lymph nodes, it's just part of the healing process when your immune system kicks in.
i think its important to note skin tone will have an impact on brightness or the deep blacks . I find the more tan someone is or the darker their skin , the more faded the tattoos is after healing .
Got my first tattoo on 25tjune.... going through healing process... tattoo is fading.... but..now im satisfied.... thanks again for this helpful video..
Thank you so much for all you advice, I've been binging your videos because I'm getting my first tattoo this week and your videos really help. 😊 I'm getting the phrase "you do not yield" on the inside of my right wrist
Been working on my sleeve took a year off and just went in for a session. It's crazy seeing the difference between my last session and this one. But ultimately I didn't notice the fade over the year so all in all of you take care of your work it won't be bad.
I’m getting my first tattoo in July!!! Looking at your videos has really helped me prepare! I’m getting an ankle wrap with some vines and flowers! Super excited :)
Good video Mike. My tattoo artists really pack the color in and they are holding very well. Unfortunately one of my former tattoo artists, packed too much overworking the skin. This caused scar tissue. He retouched it, but the scarring got worse. The scarred areas didn't hold the touch up ink. So in the future, after treating the area with eight Vitamin E to break down the scars or a special tattoo scar reducing product, one of my new artists will give it a touch up. Hopefully this will covering the scarring and make it look like new again 🤞.
My first tat, was when I was sixteen my mom actually took me which was surprising because she hated the thought of me in pain. Anyways, I got a realism style skull that’s kind of decaying with a tulip (my moms favorite flower) in its mouth weaving in and out of the skulls half missing teeth.
Your videos helped me a lot especially with the healing stages and skin care routine! I am now in my 9th day and its coming out pretty awesome! Thanks to you!
So I’ve had my second tattoo done last week. First one peeled off normally (like a sunburn peeling) but this time, it’s thicker chunks of skin coming off, with the ink. There’s barely ink underneath. I was aware finger tattoos wouldn’t last as long, but I was expecting more than a week! 😭 I really hope it’s not ink loss.... I paid double the hourly rate for it.
Finger tats are notorious for fading mainly due to the fact your always using your hands and fingers, washing etc I had to have mine done 3 times ... its just to be expected unfortunately
Another reason... I got tatted by a scam artist m.. He diluted his INK.. Basically adding water or Vodka into the ink so he wouldn't use a lot of ink on a design... The results was a very faded tattoo..he was the only artist in the area and basically wanted me to keep comming back and paying for touch ups.. I had him arrested for this at the end
That’s interesting about the sunlight because that was not listed on my aftercare instructions by my artist. Now I’m looking at him side eyed. Im not outside for a long time just early in the mornings for my run before the sun completely comes out but that would have been good to know but I work from home and don’t go out much during the day so hopefully it heals fine
Crazy how tattoos heal. The cloudy dull look during the healing stages sucks but once it's healed it's great. I usually wash my new tattoo twice a day with unscented soap and pat dry. Use A&D cream 3 times a day for 5 days then switch over to a unscented lotion or the mad rabbit tattoo balm.
I just had a new one and it looks more faded than the others. I did the same process of gentle washing with hot soapy water and then cocoa butter when it was peeling/flaking. It has been in the sun because I work outdoors and it’s been hot lately. I’m two weeks in what you reckon I should do?
Got my first tattoo two weeks ago. On my forearm. Was scared about the fading until I looked it up. Green, stitched-looking thread with a needle, and a purple button. The “thread” spells out Gnily. Since the 80s, my sister and I have said “Goodnight, I love you” or written out “GNILY” whenever we say good bye or good night. The Button is for my girl that I call Button.
Just got a new thigh (front) tat less than a week ago so I have been watching your vids lately. The tat I came up with has an open book with watercolor smoke coming out of it in blues, greens & purples. Black silhouettes to represent my favorite childhood books AND the Berkana healing rune (at the top) appear to come out of the opened book’s pages… The entire session took 3.5 hours. 😎📚❤️
I had all my touch-ups with a charging of a portion of that price, which I find unfortunate, but I guess it's to deter people from not taking care of their tattoos after their sessions. :/
ManlyManTv aww man that’s rough. Fortunately, a lot of the shops in my area still operate by appointments. It’s a pain to get in but it’s worth the wait. Can’t wait to see your next piece tho!!
Just got a half-sleeve done last week as my first tattoo (2 back to back sessions). My tattoo is a landscape of a jungle which includes mountains, trees, birds, wolf and a hut. I am so pleased and can't wait to get my full-sleeve completed next year :)
That's awesome dude👊 I'm working on 2 sleeves rn, on my right a nighttime mythical theme, on my left a bright colorful nature theme, both are a mix if japanese and neo traditional
I just got my first tattoo 4 days ago! I got a rose on my whole left forearm with Roman numbers (moms death date) and in the middle of the numbers is her name💛
I just got my first tattoo three weeks ago. My tattoo got darker for a few days after I got it. The colors really popped and I liked it. I got my college fraternity's crest on my right arm. I'm already looking at ideas for my next tattoo.
Hey I got my sternum & top of my foot just done as my first spots. (Painful places) Yes every one feels things differently but trust me all the scary thoughts ur thinking. DONT. It’s not like that at all.
To make sure ur tattoo never fades regardless if u stay in side while healing or not is one simple trick......... ready............ go back and get it darker if I can show a pic of mine i would click my little pic and see
I just got a captain Yami half sleeve. Y’all can check it out at art of job dump. Thanks for this video bro. This is the biggest piece I’ve gotten and I kinda freaked out when the ink got shiny the other day
Here in 2024.. covering up my first tattoo in a mermaid right flank tattoo. She is pretty huge 🧜🏽♀️ flowy hair, jewelry, fish, background and all looped in a rope 🥰
Thank you. I'm on day 12 and my new tattoo looks like it's 40 years old, I can barely make out the black lines and I'm so scared 😭 Hopefully it'll look better when it's healed and peeled!
@Joey Curtis Unfortunately, in my case it was infected. 😔 It took a long time to heal completely- It's only just stopped flaking this week. It's very patchy and faded with some scar tissue in the middle. Now that it's all healed I'll be going elsewhere to get it fixed up!
I’m so sorry for your loss Christopher. It’s beautiful that you are honoring him through a portrait on your skin. Thank you for sharing that with me and the rest of the Evolve Community.
Its amazing how the sun is sooo far away but yet the sun brightness can help kill my new coming tattoo. I could always wear long sleeves. But i will look at getting sun cream protect
Hey, it is probably the artist. When a tattoo fades, it’s most likely due to how the tattoo was applied. I recommend you finding a different tattoo artist to where they can really make your tattoo bold and solid.
I was freaking out, parts of my tattoo are looking shiny and super faded. Im into day 6 and i was freaking out thinking that i have to retouch it. I feel less worried now... Edit: i'm on my third tattoo now and i have the same worries lol. on the first and second tattoos i got a retouch. this time i got a huge EVA tattoo and the healing process i going great but it's itching like hell...
I'm scheduled to get my first tattoo. It is going to be the birth flowers of my 3 children going under my collarbone and the vines/leaves coming off it over my shoulder, and then the stems will be tied together with a string and hanging from the string over my heart or sternum (depending on how far over we take it) is going to be a celtic cross
that sounds actually really awesome. make sure you do your homework on how to take care of your new tattoos and all the important things about tattoos. youll find a lot of valuable resources on this channel :)
@@EvolveINK oh trust me, I binge watched your videos! Lol! It went great and it is healing nicely! Still in the itchy phase but getting better. They keep snickering at me at work because they catch me patting it all the time XD She did such a good job and I already told her I want her doing my next one... and probably every other one after that! I now have a plan. I love mythical creatures, so over time I want to have a dragon on my shoulder (I already know how I want that one
I needed this video for my most recent tattoo Thankyou! It’s my last name on my ribs and I’ve always wandered why it faded so much more than my other tattoos

my new tattoo is 5 cards, Aces and 8's with the fifth card down, on the 1st is the Ace of spades and an eagle globe and anchor in the center, a pair of 5.56 rounds and 1 9mm round on the bottom with a touch of smoke throughout. I really hope it turns around in the healing process because I work construction now and the first four days were hot motherfkers man. Intense labor and sweating, gonna need a touch up I'm sure. but it looked extra sick out of the chair.
i got my tattoo 3 weeks ago and some of the letters are patchy and faded compared to some of the other letters, i’m considering getting a 2nd coat of ink on it, or just touch ups.
Again, your video has helped me to feel more comfortable with my new tattoo (Adult Wolf head/face, with I wolf cub underneath and howling, with my son's name under the cub) I feel like my artist did a good job with combining just a little bit of cartoony with realistic. Thank you.
Hey! Well even though hand tattoos are known to fade quickly, it should have faded that fast. It is most likely from the tattoo going through the healing stages. Just continue healing the tattoo with washing it and moisturizing it 3 times a day and it should be ok.
Hey man! Love your tattoo videos, I’ve definitely taken a lot of pages from your book! I just got a new tattoo a month ago, exactly 30 days from today. It’s been healing up pretty nice, it’s just shiny at this point, as you could imagine. However there is part of my tattoo that is a bit raised, it’s like 3 small dots toward a shaded area of my tattoo. Do you think it will flatten out, considering it’s only been a month so far?
@@33jaa yes, it has!! I was nervous, but it’s not fully gone, but it’s progressing a lot, compared to two months ago. Through various different scar gels.
