The two southern Africa Nations, Zambia and Angola have signed a 5 billion dollar deal to build an oil pipeline. The pipeline will just be built by the private sector in collaboration with the state-owned Angolan petroleum company SANANGOL and the Zambian state corporation Industrial Development Corporation-IDC Zambia Ltd. According to an announcement by Zambian government officials, the project will pave the way for a pipeline to supply finished petroleum products from oil-rich Angola to Zambia when completed.

It is time Africa became self reliant in all this so that no one holds Africans to ransom.

By African countries coming together and work as one it is a way to go why go elsewhere when we have them within us.

As a Zambian. I would love to see direct roads from Angola to Zambia be built. This would further strengthen relations between the two countries for the benefit of our people.

Very unproductive economic strategy by Zambia and Angola to build a 5 million us dollar pipeline. Instead they should use the money to build oil refineries and railway and road networks between them which will create even more jobs, and self sufficiency and facilitate cross-border trade. A gas pipeline between Angola and Zambia is more realistic and productive.

Building a pipeline done not stop them from build other infrastructure, it’s just complementary. Do you have an idea how expensive and dangerous it is to transport petrol and other fossil fuels by rail?

Thats a very very good idea , but , why dont you yourself and your father practice what you preach? build those refineries , roads and railways yourself. Perhaps the rest of Africa can learn from you. Thankyou

yes unless it becomes cheaper than the one recieved through the pipe line, the advantage is that through the pipe line there will be a continous supply than that of tanker trucks
