whynter ac not working - apparently I just needed to drain it. 

so now i have mine up on blocks and i have a giant tub under it, with a plastic tube fit snugly over the drain spout. it drains auto matically and i empty the giant tub once a week.

but i also spill water every time i drain it.

@christopherallcomer5738 I cut off last night smh im going to unplug it like a few people said in the comments.

@@mieshafuller5595 have you tried keeping the drain plug open and just letting it drain all night?

@@mieshafuller5595 also I put a curtain up halfway in my house and I just cool down half of it. I also grabbed another used air conditioner and I use it in tandem with the winter AC. I hope you're not in hot hot Texas or down south.

Mine also is stupid, it literally says cooling and will stay cooling for about 5 mins then it makes a loud noise and starts to just blow hot/room temp air, so frustrating.

Mine will blow cold air and then it will stop a and blow regular air for a couple minutes and it's cold again, back and forth. Is this normal?

I unplugged it to drain it and barely any water comes out, red light still on,i emailed whynter& they emailed me back with an instruction on how to open up the unit and to check different parts of the unit?? I am not a trained professional as the sticker on back of the unit says not to open or work on it.

So try unplugging everything eccept the ac in that outlit

it was empty but I can try again. that little pour spout at the bottom that releases condensation water.

No. But I left it plugged in for a day or two and it suddenly started working. It's working now but only as AC mode. The heat mode always makes it wig out.

@@christopherallencomer5738 Thank you for replying to me. My unit is doing the exact same thing as yours in the video. I haven't been able to get mine to work longer than 15-20 minutes before it shuts off and blinks STOP on the screen in the front of the AC unit. I contacted the guy I bought it from and he's going to return my money for the unit. I was hoping that you may have figured out a permanent fix to the problem. I can't seem to find much on the internet about the issue. Thanks again for the reply sir

Wish I could help ya more. I contacted Whynter but I couldn't get my original receipt, otherwise they may know how to fix it. I've still had no problems, I just ALWAYS keep the unit on the cool setting, never on heat. Godspeed Cody!
