Ive had one of these for 2 years now, it does NOT require you hook a hose up to it!, Im in HUMID mississippi and Ive never had this thing leak water., and Ive never hooked a hose up to it. mine works perfectly.

no one said it did require a hose. no one said it leaks.

Also, out of ALL the videos i've found on thier air conditioners is the BEST!!!! nice job. Only thing I would've included was showing how and where to access the filter.

generally I make videos of stuff not answered by the manual, product descriptions, and things most people don't think of. if you are looking to buy one home depot and some other sites have the manual for download. however the air filter is on the top back of the unit, and real easy to remove.

Wow this is helpful!!! Mine seems to warm up my space somewhat or just break even and this makes so much sense now. I’m def going to insulate the intake/output hoses. Thank you!

In the amazon listing it says "ADVANCED SELF-EVAPORATION: Cools up to a 400 square foot space (ambient temperature and humidity may influence optimum performance); Patented auto drain function fully exhausts all condensate automatically in most environments with optional upper gravity drain port for continuous operation; Dehumidifying capacity: 82 pints per day; Air Flow (at high speed): 330m3/h / 194CFM; 3 fan speeds" why do you need a hose?

you don't. I wanted one, because it is possible to fill the reservoir and then have to manually empty it.

How is the unit holding up? How cold would it, or did you actually get it, and what was the temp outside?

It's holding up fine, it depends on how well the room is insulated, how large, and how hot outside. in my case with only an R7 insulation and temps outside of over 100°, I really had to stop using it once the sun hit my shed and the outside temp got to over 95°. If my shed had more insulation I think it could work much better.

forgot to mention how cold. 72° or less if the outside temp was 95° or less 78° when it got above that, and really struggled when the sun hit the side of the building and roof.
