Listen that’s a human emotion everyone has to cry even if people don’t show they’re crying on the outside doesn’t mean you’re not crying on the inside so your wife is in the wrong here
NTA. Your wife is right that stuff like that happens all the time. However… men are also allowed to cry and everyone reacts different to things they read, hear or see. I‘d try couples counseling first if you really love her and the relationship is otherwise good.
