I kind of wondered how Olivia got pregnant with Dorians' child (although, yes, people talk about turkey basters). Wouldn't most Drs/fertility programs require both people in a marriage to be involved in the process? Yet there was Olivia, (at least) 5 months pregnant, 5 months after OP left her. I'll bet Olivia was already pregnant with Dorians' baby, when OP overheard Olivia on the phone, that fateful migraine day.
I agree that the concept if dubious and was most probably concived naturally. But many places don't require partners consent for fertility treatments and even if they do they don't do background checks so you can easily lie claim your single or claim the doner in this case the brother is your partner. This would be particularly easy if the wife took ops name so it matched the brothers.

How the story ended didn't suprise me AT ALL!!! There were red flags through out the entire story. From the moment Olivia met Dorian all the way after Arianna was born. The way how Olivia was so close to Dorian is clear she had a crush on him. Dorian clearly knew this and probably brainwashed her into having a baby and using him and ONLY HIM as a donor to conceive a child. His way of 'fixing her' back into a straight woman. By that time Dorian was already married. I was wondering what his wife's standpoint was on this donor sperm proposal. Most wives, even girlfriends, are not comfortable with their husband/boyfriend having donorkids scattered around, even worse post marriage. Kate was pretty chill with it and pretty involved with raising Arianna, to my suprise. OP never realized she became more of a stepparent with little to no say when it comes to raising Arianna. She should have set clear boundaries from the beginning but well, it's not like Olivia would have respect those boundaries anyway. This is one of many messy situations you get when relatives are involved in your fertility journey. Be it through sperm donation or surrogacy. Lastly, I hope some day Kate will realise she deserves a better husband and leave Dorian for good.
I had a feeling Op's brother was up to something. A jerk always keeps his ideas and methods. Op's wife is also rather sneaky and Op is better off without her.
Probably the one good thing to come out of this is the family backing OP over the brother, complete with disownment by the parents. Mind you, it may not last seeing their earlier attitudes, but at least they have some line they weren't willing to follow him over.

I knew from the moment she Olivia wanted a child - it was a red flag. When she said she wanted OP's brother to be the father- 2nd flag When she showed up pregnant, it was a whole parade of flags. I think Olivia got pregnant the old-fashioned way. OP would have noticed the $20k or so needed for IVF. The procedure is also a long process with hormone shots, increasing ovulation & egg retrieval, and then implantation. If they had only been separated for 5 or 6 months, then Olivia would barely be showing, and, IF & I do mean IF, the IVF is successful the first round. My daughter is going through this. If all goes well, she will be pregnant by September - and she has just started the process. All this means is that the affair was going on before the temporary breakup. She was likely already pregnant when they had the "talk" about kids. Once Olivia went against their premarital agreement for no children, I knew the relationship was over for them. Having a child is a huge breach of trust. OP should have just walked then.

I know a couple where something similar happened. She doesn't know what to do w/ the child & the girl is EXTREMELY disrespectful to her mother. I have to step in sometimes & make the child mind. The child is my SIL's girlfriend's child, so I'm "Aunt Jaime." Aunt Jaime doesn't tolerate disrespect, but at the same time, it's not completely the child's fault, cuz she knows she isn't wanted. Now, as far as those tacos, I wouldn't have left them, I would've needed to stress eat & probably would have ordered more tacos w/ a generous helping of guacamole.

Cause Olivia was going to leave OP for the brother and though since she had his kid her "family" would be complete. Also OP said Olivia had no contract with the brother, in other words there wasn't any real limitations on how he would be in the child's life. OP might not had the chance to legally adopt Ariana, cause Olivia was planning to leave her for Dorian. Like the moment Olivia went to Dorian to talk about stuff that she wouldn't talk to her wife about, she set herself and her marriage in to a tailspin. Olivia's family had a high rate of divorce and that was Olivia's fear, and she literally turned it into a self-fulling prophecy.
