I want Funky Kong!

To see Nintendo reviving the series that got me into gaming when I was but a young boy starting to pick up a controller brings a warm feeling to my heart. Thanks for making more DKC games after Returns, Nintendo! Your fanbase appreciates it!!

I was at the E3 where this was announced and played it on the show floor. Can't believe it was nine years ago... Great memories.

I'm definitely getting a Wii U now!

I was a boy, but I always played as Dixie Kong. Because hair. Also I thought she was a boy with long hair for a long time, but mostly because floating around with the hair was great. Especially when Diddy Kong just sort of floated around behind you with his fingers or something.

I got a little teary eyed seeing DK swim again, and Dixie Kong returning just flat out makes my day!

IMO, I go with Dixie, I freaking love her! She's adorable, AND she's probably the most useful character in the game!

And now available for the Switch including the Funky Mode.

Also, The underwater stages were some of my favorites on the original ones, i didn't knew why they taked them out of they wii one.

The pluck & throw mechanic was also used in Mario vs. Donkey Kong. Being a Donkey Kong game, it's funny how this feature is brought back.

So I was mildly excited for this game after the Nintendo Direct. This Developer Direct got me a bit more excited. But then I decided to catch up on Donkey Kong Country Returns (didn't play it until a few weeks ago). Now I'm REALLY excited for this game. Retro is REALLY good at this platforming business and the difficulty curves alongside it, by God.

im lovin DK country on 3DS, Luigis mansion, castlevania mirror of fate, street fighter 4 all on 3DS. can't wait for this tropical freeze as well.

I know, and I'm glad Tropical Freeze is changing that. From what we know so far, there's Dixie Kong, and with the revival of underwater levels, they might even bring back Enguarde.

I am here from 2020, and yes, this game was amazing and challenging, also, they made a port to the console that replaced the Wii U called Nintendo Switch, and by the way, the secret character that he said could't speak about....was Cranky Kong, and for the Switch version they added Funky Kong

The 4th playable character is cranky kong and there is a 5th playable character As well.

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze with cameo appearances by the Ice Climbers! Now that would be a spectacular surprise, they need their own game.

Cranky Kong. His special move is poking enemies with his cane and telling them how bad they play as AI.

Cranky Kong: Back in my day, we had to play through the levels ourselves!

The current DK was Cranky's grandson when Rare were making the games. It was after they were no longer making them that Nintendo went and said something about him being Cranky's son and confusing everyone. I agree with you about DK Jr. being the 4th playable character being interesting. Some people say Cranky could be the 4th character but not really sure how that would work seeing as he needs a cane to get around. Maybe he could use the cane as a pogo stick like Scrooge in the Ducktales game.

Really liking the subtle changes! Changing the characters is quite DK64-like

I'm calling the fourth character being Kiddy and he'll function the same way as Donkey Kong (as in Diddy and Dixie can ride his back.) This will make four player co-op more inviting.

He has a jet pack that let's him float for a second or two and he also has a peanut gun that shoots peanuts at enemies. Dixie can 'double jump' by floating upwards with her pony tail.

DK64 was probably my favourite N64 game, no game has topped the feeling of 100 percenting it. The president of Camelot said he would love to make a sequel to it about a year ago, I really hope it happens.

Tanabe, of course I'll try it out. It looks like it'll be everything a sequel should be.

well the mirror mode boss fights and kong-levels are pretty challenging in DKCR but I like the challenge. And if you try to get shiny gold medals on all speedruns you can have a lot of play time :p
