This week, me, Lorna, and Rachel decided to do some wild camping at Loch Venachar. An easy, casual camping experience with an epic feast to go with it.

Was there any parking nearby? Looking to camp on this loch again soon but don’t want to go to the same bit. This looks like a perfect spot!

Yeah, there's 2 car parking spots at Loch Venacher. Small 1 at the front then past this to the left before the lodges, there's a bigger car park. Tend to be rather full though.

Thanks, mate. Honestly appreciate that as it's my least favourite video. Now it's not. Kebab sauce and mayo is an amazon combo! How can you possibly not like that 😆!?

Nice one Monty. I reckon Deuter are some of the best gear you can buy. As for the grub I noticed Quorn. Are you veggy? Not a bad thing considering the planet is eating to much meat. Any way, another cool location. mark

Aye, Deuter produce gear with the highest quality behind them. The bag ain't gonna burst but I need to test it in the colder condition. Heard they do awesome backpacks too. Aye mate. I've been veggie for years! Although if you were to try veggie stuff I generally wouldn't recommend quorn! Thanks for watching 😁

@@MontyOutdoors They sure do Monty. Look forward to you concluding the test. And yeah I have one of their backpacks here. It's my late dear twin brother bag. He was a brand fan. As for veggie good on you. I eat very little meat because of what it does to the planet. Peace!

@@WyeExplorer Here's hoping the test goes to plan and I don't get hypothermia. I really want to experience minus 10 while camping. What's the coldest you have went? I'm a lover of animals. One day I saw a difficult video, cried, and now I can't eat meat because of an overwhelming sense of guilt. I didn't actively choose to be one, I just saw it from another perspective.

@@MontyOutdoors Hey good on. Me? About minus 2. AS for animals they are sentient like plants. They just appear different and we can hear them but plants deserve respect to - think trees. Peace maan.

Hi Ally. I prefer camping with company, I don't like being alone and my ideal number is 3/4 - which is an unwise thing to do in today's world! Have you been out recently? I think Pauline was planning on going camping this or next month.

@@MontyOutdoors yeah i think she was meant to be going last week but weather put her off ! 😁 Yeah i was going to go head out but had work committments , so just fired up a little video review on the brittish army hexi stove to at least put something up on the channel, itching to get a free weekend away !

April to September mate. So you no longer need a permit. I'd recommend Loch Drunkie and Loch Voil. Hoping to do Loch Voil soon! And thanks, mate.

Nice one Monty 👍 The Trossachs are lovely. Ben Venue is a great wee mountain, just beyond Aberfoyle. Good wildcamping opportunities too.

@@MontyOutdoors I've tried a few bits of vegan food my cousin cooked for me.i was rather nice. I've not managed to get out camping for a few weeks. Hopefully I'll be out for a solo camp on Thursday and then a camp in Galloway forest with mate on Saturday. When you out next?

Aye life is ok, just plodding along looking forward to this virus disappearing. Sadly we are already in near lockdown at the moment which is having an impact on us all.

@@DesGreene I've did Europe in a caravanette and the places we stopped overnight were incredible. From the Alps, to an industrial estate in Nice, to a supermarket in a small town. Look forward to the backlog of videos, mate!

@@MontyOutdoors We set off from the Glen Finglas car park at Brig o'Turk Monty, think it was around 5hrs inc stopping for lunch. oh and we checked out the Roman Dunmore Hillfort at the far end.

Loch Venachar is still one of my favourite places to camp. Another nice camp Monty👍 I’ve been tempted to get a Phoxx 1 tent every time I see them in go outdoors.

1.5kg in weight, compact, and plenty of vestibule space. Ideal for mountain camps and strong winds. For less than £50 that's great.
