Pantera has one of the wildest stories in metal. They were an obscure hair metal band in the late 80s and for some reason just knew to reinvent themselves as this band. One of the founders of a new metal sound, groove metal. I can't think of any other band who was able to do this.
@rycor9117

"We're taking over this town" His voice is really THAT deep. Even deeper. The fact that he could reach those high notes with it in Cemetery Gates back in the day is a testament to his versatility as a singer. Anyway, I'm actually quite surprised you haven't reacted to their live performance of DOMINATION just yet. That's quite a staple for a lot of music reaction channels. You should give it a go. Like seriously. It'll blow your minds. Or one of your discs. 😅

RIP Dime (guitars) and Vinnie (drums). And yes, as teens in the early 90s, our parents did often wonder what it was we listened to. Pantera started off as a glam metal band like Motley Crue, Poison, etc. When Phil (vocals) was hired, that's when the sound changed. I'll be seeing the current Pantera lineup play this Friday with Metallica at AT&T Stadium. Metallica performs a two night set on this tour and this weekend is in Arlington, TX. Which also happens to coincide with Dime's birthday, and to play in his home town.

@@jrshelton3398 I had my first, legal beer at a Pantera show last week. I took my brother by Moore Memorial Gardens after the show, to show him the cemetery Vinnie and Dime were buried in case he ever wants to come by to visit later on. Arlington PD had a squad car posted at each entrance. Guess they anticipated if anyone wanted to go pay respects AFTER the show would lead to disturbance of the cemetery.

Oh YESSSS!! 🥰🥰🥰 Pantera makes me think of my dad (RIP). 💙💙💙 Whenever he finished his chemo treatments, I'd blast Pantera on our one hour drive home and he would come ALIVE in that back seat, no matter how weak he was from the chemo. He would JAM OUT, and when we would get home, he would say "Thanks Nae" with the biggest smile. Then he would go inside and have the best nap ever. 😂 I grew up listening to Pantera, and I also would hear my dad play their music on guitar (among many other bands). Thanks for reminding me of my dad and all the memories shared with him. 💗

@@lungfulldrummer8921 I think Amber might be OK with Desperate Cry, Altered State, Inner Self or anything like that that's got a riff she can hook onto. I would say probably Sepultura's most catchy song is The Hunt, although it's certainly not their best song.

@@NeofolisThe Hunt is a cover of a New Model Army song which is why it isn't one of their best, Sepultura gave the song the bite and grit it deserved though. Jumping into the crowd is called "stage diving." If the other fans pass you around it's called "crowd surfing." Singer is Phil Anselmo. The band is from Texas. They started out a typical metal band playing power metal and I think they wore makeup for a short time like glam metal bands, (hair bands). They eventually found their sound and invented "groove metal."

Now do the LIVE version of Domination, A New Level, Fucking Hostile, Mouth For War, By Demons Be Driven, their cover of Cat Scratch Fever, Drag the Waters, Primal Concrete Sledge, Psycho Holiday, the Art of Shredding, This Love, I’m Broken, Becoming, 5 Minutes Alone, Revolution Is My Name, and Goddamn Electric!! Oh they released a newer song I think in 2011 can’t remember the title but it was a tribute to the hardcore fans!!!

Experiencing Pantera Live is best described by the name of their album "Vulgar Display of Power"!

I remember listening to this song on a AM radio station (FM stations weren't playing it). This song is great for getting your frustration out through headbanging. I would like to see you react to Suicidal Tendencies, specifically "You Can't Bring Me Down" and "Send Me Your Money." I must warn you "You Can't Bring Me Down" does contain explicit lyrics, but it is a great song none the less.

A few decades later and I still think this is one of their best songs ever! I only really liked the songs where Phil actually sang...not a fan of the fast screaming vocals in a lot of their songs...but the ones like this...showcase how great Phil's voice was.

😂I’m that kid that was listening to Pantera in high school. Them and Rage Against the Machine. And of course all the grunge music that was prevalent in the early 90’s. Now all I listen to is Ren. Crazy

Can't put into words just how crazy those Pantera concerts were in the early 90's. you'd come home banged and bruised up, with those riffs still ringing in your head. Saw many many other metal concerts through the 90's, none brought it as hard as Pantera 🤘

Now picture playing this song full blast in your 88 Camaro with the exhaust screaming that V8 sound while burning the tires! Welcome to my childhood 🤘

You know J PANTERA are playing in Rogers, Arkansas tonight! Not too far from the OKC area. It'll be almost 25 years since the last time I saw them in their prime with The Abbott Bros. RIP Daryl & Vinnie.

My favorite Pantera tune is Regular People (Conceit). It's so full of attitude, it's my pump up song.
