Dr John needs to weigh in on this news immediately.

I dunno, I'm kind of suspicious of any attorney who isn't the DA or the Defense holding press conferences. Yes, I know he represents a survivor of these crimes, however, shouldn't he be taking this info to police? What is the goal of holding a sensational press conference with graphic photos, especially when he's not an attorney on this case? What does he or his client have to gain by implicating the daughter, especially so publicly? I have questions.

From this she sounds like a deeply disturbed girl. Please remember that she was a child when most of this was going on. She’s clearly been exposed to the world her father lives in, but whether or not she’s been a part of it as an adult is another matter. She does need help, though.

Look who raised her. Look at that house. How could it have no impact on her. I don't think it she was involved in a 1993 murder. How old was she in 93? Plus LE has confirmed she was out of the state. I think this is a reach.

I think they need to be careful about libel against the daughter. They also need to be careful about tainting the jury pool and/or reasonable doubt for Rex. Very unprofessional in my opinion. Who holds a news conference with exhibits and experts when they aren’t even involved in a trial. Is he pointing the finger at the daughter?

This is the West Memphis Three all over again. This is the kind of stuff every emo kid or horror movie fan would look at. One of the pics he made a huge deal out of is from a TV show! It's from the pilot episode of Hanibal. He dressed it up to look criminal. He just sent an angry mob on a girl who already had her life destroyed.

Prove it was the daughter...he could have been on her computer impersonating.... How old was she when these two perished.... Something's goofy...

His daughter is into some disgusting stuff, but he has absolutely no evidence that she is connected to her father’s crimes. Was this a sensational move to get attention or did this attorney go too far in this press conference?

Murderincorp put together an interesting piece that dives into RH’s family, including his cousin who was implicated in a lawsuit regarding CSA at the Lutheran church where he was pastor, they also connected his uncle in the sadlistic ring of p e d o s . If this is a generational pattern, and she was exposed to it since she can remember, it is normalized for her.

Where on earth did he get graphic pics and the words he’s speaking. I think he’s just creating a media frenzy. The DA and investigators have been superbly professional during this case. Shame on him!

The book on the kitchen table that was out the second time paw enforcement came through with only the daughter home had disturbing images of dead bodies/ including murder scenes of a dead baby John Ray said in another interview. I wonder why the daughter would be looking at that with her father accused of brutally murdering women?

Is this allowed? Should he be sharing this without some type of charges being brought against her?

One woman who says she left Rex’s house but another woman was left there (never seen again) says she still feels guilty. She says that Rex’s wife was home; that she saw her there.

Wtf?! This is insane. I'm not sure about him holding up images like that in public. Couldn't that hurt the prosecution if they do go after her? Maybe not, but it seems like a reckless tactic to take.

He is selling the story that Victoria appears to have a morbid fascination with gore, that said, it is a stretch to insinuate that she has ever acted on such or even committed a crime. Plus, she would have been a teen when the murders were committed. The press conference seems like a step toward a defamation case, and I personally, believe a public announcement should at the very least be based on some factual evidence that she either had knowledge of her father's crimes or was involved.

Dr. Gary Brucato Ph.D and visiting scholar at Boston College, speaking at the press conference today, definitely lends credibility to Attorney John Ray’. Dr. Brucato is also the coauthor of the great book, The New Evil. I always love to learn from Dr. Brucato!

Would love to hear from Dr John on this. Details that the attorneys insinuated as her knowing details of her father’s crimes (like the one missing shoe) seem like comic/gore tropes to me . Growing up in that home I would not find it surprising that she was exposed to media that could foster a gore kink. That seems more likely to me than her being aware of her father’s crimes. Is there data on other sexual serial killer’s children and what they were exposed to?

Gore is a popular entertainment subject matter, as evidenced by the many films & books that has been profitable. It is certainly likely that Rex introduced it into his family as entertainment. But liking gore vs participating with sadistic murder will have to be proven.

I watched it a couple of times, but have to ask: Is that man wearing a Hamilton style low ponytail with a bow? No judgement! It just distracted me for a bit.

Why didn’t this lawyer just come with a couple of affidavits from some women who had encounters with Heuermann and got away? This was very disturbing and didn’t need to be shown at a presser. Surely the police already got all the computer records and could therefore have charged the daughter in a separate case. How is this ok - and how does it help the trial in the RH case? Confusing, disturbing, and imo just muddies the waters.

I always thought his wife was involved but I’m Shocked about the daughter. I bet it’s a family affair. And I bet there are a ton of more bodies.

The fact these details are coming from an attorney and not police is odd, BUT, to me it fits. I've never understood how the basement of horrors could have been kept a secret from the entire family. I know bleach can accomplish destruction of some evidence and smells, but not all. Pure evil and demonic as the attorney said.

I think the girl just found out her father is a cruel sadistic monster and art is her release. If there was any chance she was involved she would have been arrested long ago. This attorney doesn't impress me. He's a windbag.

Today's press conference by John Ray was deeply disturbing. The excessive use of graphic images and explicit details went too far. It was brutal.

I watched some of that news conference. It was disturbing to me, that so much explicit sexual violence was being described on network television. I tuned out when he started describing the artwork and the butt plug stuff. America is so gross.

All I could think when watching that press conference was that I would sure hate to spend any time in his daughter's head. Good grief. I actually couldn't watch the whole press conference (no images were being blurred out.);it was really triggering me big time - it was just so horrific. I felt like I needed a shot of tequila or something just to help buffer what was being presented.

That press conference was…something. I’m not terribly familiar with the details of the case, so possibly I’m missing some key assumed knowledge, but the whole thing doesn’t even seem coherent. Reminds me of when I used to work in long term care with schizoaffective patients. This sounds like the sort of wild rant some of my patients would come up with.

I don't have enough information on this to think anything yet. I don't completely get what he's implying, and I don't have a large enough frame of reference to evaluate it yet.

Read today that Rex was into movies like Last House on the Left, a movie I’ve never heard of but heard it is extremely grotesque. Just listened to a criminal profiler and she said these must be banned. These horror films have been desensitizing people to horrific murders for decades.

Ok, so this is so disturbing and the stuff that horror films are made from, but I am wondering why they are having a news conference without there being any arrests? If they have this evidence with apparently some of the daughters hair on one of the bodies why has she not been arrested yet?

He better have more than that to be throwing around allegations at the children, honestly. He needs rock solid "it's not defamation if it's the truth" level evidence. Don't play speculative games with me in the press either. Say what you mean about what you're inferring about things with your whole chest or don't chase the press. Also, god forbid people have exposure to various metal genres, horror enthusiasts, Gothic subcultures. Art can be dark without making you a killer. Incredibly dark. I hate this attorney because really it feels like he hurts more than helps the cases when he does press conferences like this. He often comes across as a bit of a crackpot who is setting himself up for a hell of a lawsuit at any time.

How old and what year/timeline did RH's daughter, Victoria, start creating these very graphic & demented repulsive art pieces. Beastiality. Murder. Torture. Dismemberment. And the writings. What was she subjected to/conditioned to growing up? Dysfunction. Trauma. This is NOT Normal. Will she come forward and reveal what led to this unhinged artistic expression? Wow, I really am shook.

Would make sense as to why he’s willing to take the brunt of the charges….. the wife and daughter need to be thoroughly investigated, every stone in their lives turned over and looked at. Do the son as well….. Rex didn’t do this without their knowledge, impossible…..and that wife and daughter have such RAGE in their faces…….

Well I would make for certain that the mother and two children were definitely away, or just booked into a hotel to make it look that way? And did her father take photos for her? Is there some weird relationship between his daughter and him? Were the dates that the women went missing line up with them away but he kept them in the basement until they got back, then killed and disposed of them? Cops better be thorough with this one.

I trust John Ray's instincts here. And the fact that this adult daughter did not move away from this house after the arrest, always bothered me, I would want DISTANCE but nope she was home making obscene images and studying horrifying book

I have a hard time thinking prosecution doesn't know about VE's erstwhile Tumblr. This is disgusting and disturbing, absolutely. But it isn't evidence of a crime. No matter how much one loathes these images and ideas, if they aren't connected to a crime, this isn't evidence against VE. Really this could be seen as character assassination if it turns out that VE never hurt anyone or facilitated hurting anyone.

Dr Brucato has worked with Dr Ann Burgess (fangirl of hers😊-and there’s a new doc coming out all about her and the profiling team she basically created) and other well known criminal Psychiatrists and Psychologists. Him being there underscores that John Ray is the real deal and is nobody’s fool. I am an artist and a true crime follower for over 40 years. I have seen some horrendous pictures, and art work. During the pandemic, I thought about doing a series of artworks about serial killers. But as I thought about it, I remembered that the people who might purchase them were not people I wanted to encourage-they might be glorifying this kind of awful. So, I did not do it. I was not going to use gore, either. Guernica is a great example of horror used to protest, and I love it, but could never hang it in my home. Something is very, VERY wrong with some of the folks making these pieces, although I would except the deer horn painting. Heurmann, like all of these monstrous beasts, has destroyed his own family, and sent waves of horror, pain, and evil out into the world. What we choose to do about those consequences is what makes or breaks us, as individuals. ♥️✌️

My immediate thought was that she likely saw some things as a kid and the art is her way of processing it. Kids are sneaky. They like to spy on their parents and look in places they are told not to. She probably has very confusing and conflicted feelings about her father that likely affect her relationships with all men so this type of art could be an expression of her working through that trauma. I don't think it necessarily makes her complicit in his actions but I am sure she has seen some things as a child that she didn't know how to process.
