I was actually part of the group of kids who picked out the theme song for this. My friends mom worked for Image comics and they sat us in a room and played multiple songs and asked us to pick which one we liked best and this is what we chose. Our reward was all the pogs we wanted! We’re talking 94-95 timeframe when pogs were the cool thing to have!
one of the reasons it lasted 1 season was because out of stroke of luck, this ended up in the same timeslot as x-men the animated series, ironically both looks of the teams were drawn of Jim lee.
@@mattmanguy + the traditionnal extreme quality for the intro....but the song is too long and need additionnal scene so we're gonna use some of the show. ^^ A classic of the time ^^
This was my jam back on CBS and USA network's Saturday morning's and I do remember their creator Jim Lee's work in comic book episodes of marvel's X MEN I love the wildCATS comics from DC universe/ DC comics, my favorite character is spartan, warblade and the fan favorite assassin grifter I would love DC comics and Warner brothers animation studios to bring back these guys in a movie or a show
Mannnnnn... I remember buying all the WILDCATS action figures. They were pretty high quality and pricey but badass. Definitely an underrated show back then.
richintalent Grifter is actually the closest this group has to a “Wolverine”. Has a sketchy past, has been a mercenary, gets healing powers, and is an all in all out tough guy. Warblade has his claws, but he’s actually pretty sensitive and doubles as the computer guy.
At least visually, Zealot is Shatterstar (particularly his later two-color outfit) and Maul is Tusk--but with growing powers instead of a gnome burrowed in his back. Grifter looks like Deadpool's mask, with Gambit's outfit, with Star-Lord's guns.
I didn’t realise this show was owned by DC comics until years after Flashpoint, where this universe (Wildstorm) merged with the main continuity along with the Milestone and Vertigo comics, which formed the New 52.
the show really wasn't that bad, just a little different, you have to remember when this came out in 95, Wild cat's had only been out on Comic form for three years. They didn't rally have a lot of material to work with.
At least in the 90s we pushed so even the most obscure heroes could get some recognition. What do today’s kids and teenagers have today? Teen Titans Go?! 🤨🥴
I miss intros like this. I mean, changing genre's aside, cartoon intro's always got you pumped up before the show. They gave you a taste of the kind of event you're sitting there about to enjoy! I didn't even know this show existed when I was young, but it's intro is so high energy! Now, at least everything I've seen, it's cutesy, safe, silly sounds with smiles and balloons. There's no thrill. No draw. Not saying they're always bad, but they don't get you ready for the adventure you're about to go on. Or, worse, they are, and the show is just that toothless.
FINALLY I've been trying to remember the name of this show for years. After many battles, we've finally won the war. Blessed is the god of internet, Google.
The thing that yall probably don't know is--at their best lineup, they matchup with any superhero or villainous team with the same numbers. Spartan with Void upgrade who can beat Majestic and Majestic is a Superman clone(without his weakness) that seriously rivals Superman and might defeat him. There are others as well. The company could do what the Justice League did, if they wanted. Still, a great theme song...
Even though Jim Lee's WildC.A.T.S 1990's cartoon only lasted one season, At least DC comics Is still selling and publishing the WildC.A.T.S comic books and graphic novels.
Damn..this theme song of the Wildcats was so fucking bad ass and cool in the 90s... can someone post the full lyrics of this song? I cant find it in the net...
A lot of kids my age had X-Men. Me? I had my Cats. After hearing Warblade say how he "happened to be a black belt" when he beated up some thugs in the pilot, I remember thinking how damn cool that was. 15 or so years later, I got mine as well.
Be cool if there was an updated animated movie (Grifter was in Flashpoint-which was weird when I first saw him in the movie-I thought “isn’t he Image comics?”)
I used to have a grifter and Spartan action figures I had no idea who they were but thanks for the power of the internet now I learn something new about image Wildcats and Lee to bad their of the DC universe now
@@sonicboomman9850 dude kept fighting until the end. Though i wonder why didn't include the other Wildcats. They would've given the resistance an edge in the war
Disney putting out xmen 97 Now imagine if WB/DC animations can put out a wildcats movie starring the cast of this show,DC owns wildstorm now I'd say make it a 2 parter,we already got grifter in flashpoint
As a kid I had no idea what this show was...about? Like who they were. I thought they were just X-Men. But he shoe was so talky I'd blank out and just watch. I never learned any of their names except for the big guy who I thought was named Max. Because they said power to the Max so I thought they were making a pun or something. And also I always thought his disguise as a large purple dude in a trench coach looked stupid. Like all he's missing are those back horn things.
