This video was great. As a former tow truck driver, I can tell you we would usually carry bolt cutters. It's more common to see chains on trailers though.
President Brandon: Now I understand everyone's shit's emotional right now. But I've got a 3 point plan that's going to fix everything. President Brandon: Number 1: We've got this guy Not Sure. Number 2: He's got a higher IQ than ANY MAN alive. And Number 3: He's going to fix everything.
Question from the future, if I were to have a car that retracted it's wheels into itself, cover the wheel wells, and had no ground clearance for any kind of strap or bar to fit under it without removing the entire panel, could you tow it?

Genious! Back in soviet Russia you would of been appointed your very own design bureau.... In a gulag of course such free thinking can't go unpunished comrade.
In my country(Serbia) there are Gypsies that specifically aim for the shit car like steeling batteries or the whole car because they think that nobody will press charges against them(who cares about poor man with the shit car 40 yeas old) while they drive even worst shit made from stripped Citroen Dianne equipped with a diesel engine from small tractor(cultivator). Nobody messes with my piece of trash car or I'll take them apart
I know how to hotwire most cars made before 2000's shit cars are easier to steal but crims usaly go for keys/ carjackings cause there dumb and it's easier to steal that way
I was a tow truck driver. If the cops are involved your SOL they will eventually tell the tow opporater to do what ever it takes to get the job done so the damages are on the owner plus the fees and fines. These trucks nowadays have a lot better equipment and more powerful and most of their operators are extremely skilled and quick about their job. so the best advice I can give is to park in a designated area.
@Roger Hamilton -- Search for "In Russia Meme" :: Ukrainian-born American comedian Yakov Smirnoff was popular in the 1980's for his act that used wordplay to satirize the differences between his new life in the US and his old life in what was then part of the Russian led Soviet Union. @@zee3391 No, the moment you turn the steering wheel slightly, the front wheels take a longer arc around a corner than the rear wheels, so they would want to speed up, which would only work so long until the rear wheel didn't want to let it. Now, if you had two bars connected to MAKE the front and rear wheels go the same speed, you would have the situation where the wheel with the most traction forced the wheel with less traction to turn its speed. Other crazy dynamics, such as he found, yanking the steering off of where it is aimed, would also occur.
@@zee3391 if it's two short, you wouldn't be able to connect it; if it's too long, there's slack in the chain, meaning if you could drive the car without the slack, you can still drive with the slack.
what if the thief brings his own set of tires, I mean they do steal wheels after all. so putting two back on wouldn't be much of a problem. also, rather than trying to drive away with tires chained wouldn't they be better off grinding the lock away? that's what the fuckers do to steal motorcycles.
Well... time to start to start saving up pennies and dimes for a new ride then hahaha unless you rig a gps to your car and carry a shotgun you'll end up with your car back and someones life ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ he wont be getting that one back lmao
@@cloud_c5222 not that long actually easily less than 5 minutes but with an impact and pump jack instead of scissor jack it can be done in a minute or less.
He works at the car plant and steals a new wheel every day to drive home, and then drives back to work with only three wheels. Now his apartment is full of wheels.
The gru meme: *no one can take car if car got no wheels* *takes off all wheels* *cannot put back on cause car too heavy* *cannot put back on cause car too heavy*
The. Stuff they do on this channel is hilarious. Keep up the great work! Also, when chaining both wheels, you should have made chain a little but longer. It might have run, with the wheel jerking side to side over and over as the chain got tight and loose.
Yeah, for me it was the "ain't" and other slang that just.. doesn't fit with the accent. If I didn't know, I'd swear it was some Maine dude trying to sound like a country bumpkin from the woods, and failing miserably. :)
You guys should try some anti towing techniques. Like see what method can be used so that your car doesn't get towed. It would be cool if you could find a way to make a car tow proof.
Cant tower will just drag it onto a flatbed then charge extra. My friend works it and he always laughs at possible scenarios when i used to ride with him
A tow truck has plenty of power to drag a car. And beyond that they normally have dollies they can put under the wheels if they won’t roll. Or, can just drag it up onto a rollback. You could try attaching the car to something solid, but at that point they’ll likely either tear something up trying to drag it, or cut the chain. Also in some countries they use tow trucks that have a crane to pick up the car and set it on a flatbed. So, in short. You can make it more of a hassle to tow, but they’re still gonna be able to tow it.
@@jacobmcconeghy7728 it doesn't always work like that. Sometimes for people that live in apartments, they make it impossible to find a safe parking spot.
Here in Britain plenty of people (myself included) still drive manuals. I started driving a manual car when everyone else was driving automatics. The ability to drive a manual is now considered bragging rights. Every car I’ve ever driven on the road is manual. Stick to chaining the wheels as depicted in the video, and maybe consider wrapping the chain around a tree or a lamppost if possible.
I am always wondering what you'll do next. This video was great. If you try to do this to avoid a tow, ... one problem, a lot of tow truck drivers carry bolt cutters.
What's his Russian channels name? I'm guessing it has a Russian name and my phone doesn't have a Russian alphabet keyboard so I'll have to cut and paste it.
Depends on how powerful the engine is. If the engine is weak, it will lock up. Trying harder will probably blow the engine. If the engine is powerful, most probable result is the pinion gear will shatter (likely along with several suspension parts). Then the driveshaft will spin freely, but the car will still go nowhere. Basically a rolling chassis that makes a lot of noise. You'd be surprised how many vital components of your car depend on very small parts.
For some years, tow trucks in my country, had a special forklift which lifts the car and loads it from the side on a platform behind the cabin. The car is driven to a municipal parking lot and the driver receives a call/message as to where the car is the due amount of the fine. Cars may have been damaged in the process. That is why I don't see these tow trucks anymore, but I'm sure the driver still has to pay a fine. That is much cheaper to execute.
Maybe it would create a 75% four wheel drive effect if the chain was at the top of each tire cut to exact lenght so it would pull the rear wheel equally for a bit and if the tires are same size and remain on the ground whilst driving the ratio would stay correct so the chain would pull the rear tire when gets to the top
As a tow truck driver, I promise you that I'll still remove your vehicle. I don't care if the parking brake is on, you cut the wheels, or even if you chain all four wheels together. Either a wrecker or flatbed will work. There's skates, go Jack's, dollies, and different techniques. Might add a few minutes to the task, but one way or another, it's coming with me :)
as a tow truck driver, i also agree with this , i dont care if i have to drag it up the bed in park its still coming with me, the only problem i see is if it was chained to a lightpost or something it would have to be cut.
as students we had an Simca 1100cc as a campervan but the locks where defective, so we took the steering wheel (1 nut, easy to remove) with us going to the beach. That gave us a lot of attention.
A really inventive thief wouldn't steal the car, but he'd dab a little Super Glue on a toothpick and break it off in the lock. Now YOU have to cut the chain off.
samuel rivera , Comprehensive isn’t part of liability insurance... it is part of full coverage (liability, collision, comprehensive). Most people either have liability or full coverage. No one does liability and comp.
Can't stop a tow truck! With or without wheels, tires turned, (they use wood blocks for that). Unless chained to another car or post, they have bolt cutters, or access to one.
Garage 54. For your next video you guys could attach rod from rear wheel to the front to see if you can make this car a 4x4. I suspect this would be a straight line car only. LOL
For some reason that part at 3:00 feels like that ff drive trick in grand turismo sport on ps4 you take a front wheel drive car and you lock up the rear wheels and hit the gas it feels like your drifting even though you end up making a smoke show it's fun
Cool, well I kind of remember from the mr.bean series that his car has detachable steering wheel, uhh i think it is safer rather than breaking the wheels with a chain haha actually lots of thing, some people also remove the batteries from their car when they're away👍
That's a faster way to pull the steering wheel. Overall I got a great laugh out of it. Since you have a good time trying stuff with cars, say you are stuck with a all wheel drive or 4 x 4. You have a couple 2x4x10 boards and some bolts. Could you get unstuck by connecting the front and rear wheels on both sides with the boards and bolts. In the same way that a locomotive turns its wheels?. What would be the outcome? Just curious.
Not sure of that but I think no. if you have 2 poles and the chains. You can dig under the vehicle to get the pole across the drive tires. Chain the pole to the tires through the rim. Drive up on the pole. This will lift your vehicle up out of the mud. Undo the chain. Using the second pole. Put it across the drive tires and chain it to the tires. Pull forward onto the second pole. Remove the first pole and repeat the process until you are free.
I drive a Nissan skyline and it's insurance rate is sky high due to the amount of thefts that model has on it, I love my car but so does everyone else 😞
Repo guys are usually dick heads. I understand some people dont pay their car payment because they are using it in othet stuff. But how do you feel taking a familys only car? The one they use to get to work and get their kids to school. Do you feel good about it?
If I can see that shit it's mine lol just you try and hide from me. Now they're using drones to see if people park stuff behind the house without getting close to it. Fun stuff.
I saw a Dodge 3500 DRW with one of those crab looking car snatchers in the back. On the door it said what recovery firm he worked for. On the bed it said "Another One Rides the Bus" I laughed. An instructor I had in college used to recover cars for his uncle's tote the note lot in Chicago. People would make the down payment and one payment then repaint the car and change the locks and stop paying. He would show up, double check the VIN numbers then blow the passenger window, hot wire it and drive it back to the lot. If you don't want repoed pay your bills. I do think Texas should make it illegal to repo after dark since repo guys get shot every year there. Legally in Texas you can shoot a car thief or trespasser after dark. I suspect most of the shooters know they are behind and it is the repo guy but they usually get off in court.
As a former tow truck operator I can tell you that no, silly antics like that will only delay me a little. It will however make me angry and care even less about your vehicle. And likely charge you more to get it back for your trouble.
Well, chaining the wheels together in any way won't even stop many tow trucks; especially the flat-bed ones! They can just skid the car up onto the bed, and away they go! That way they don't even need wheels! Of course... the drawback of that is that they can't use a quick-pick tow truck... unless they're fine with skidding the car for a while.
My freind has a Lowrider and it has got stollen in the past . So he tied a chain around the differential to a lock and attached it to a chain that was buried about 4 feet and only the last link was visible. He then “slammed”the car all the way down and took the ground for the batteries. No one has been able to steal it again.
I watched the full Russian version of this earlier this week (it was originally posted July 12). Didn't understand a word but with these guys, it didn’t matter. Always lots of automotive fun!
If I was game I would chain the car around the differential to the lowest point on the ground. Interesting to see people actually think some of these methods would work, especially through the door handle part lol.
Depends on where you chain them, if you lock a chain tightly through the spokes closest to the center of the car as shown midway through the video. This was quite apparent before watching the video, I have no clue why anyone would want to chain anything else on or in the car to a wheel, much less post pictures of such an ineffective system...
When I'm down and blue, this is one of my favorite channels for 'lololwtf???lolol', goes great with coffee and a doobie. Hmmm. chain the front wheels together? Lets go see if thats where this goes, okay? (love the translator btw, seriously imparts the spirit of it all, whatever it all is) :P
- van Dalen with all of the artwork and designs on the side? Looks pretty clean to me. They used it to tow the car at the end. They sell for a lot of money and it looked clean
- van Dalen bit more in England. They’re very very rare here. You can get Townace too but the Space Cruiser is even rarer. Saw one for £4,500 recently. About $6000
i can garentee a tow truck could rip either that chain or where the chains attached to right off, it's a large truck meant to pull up to other trucks vs a small car/ chain
Yea I noticed that too. But the chain did still bust the plastic under the wheel though. Steering wheel had to have loosened bolts or only one or so to come off so easily and without much damage. They knew what would happen!
if you use a chain to front wheel and the one on the back you will end up damaging the steering also the springs will need to be repaired the more the try to make it move the worst the damage gets forgot to mention that you are running the danger of adding scacthes on your car. still its a nice video thanks for sharing it.
Holy shit this guy's a genius, now I can go drift my Honda Civic by chaining my rear tires together! No more trays for me, can burn rubber like they do in FD lmfao.
In Germany the local government would call the local fire station to come with some serious bolt cutter, maybe even hydraulic ones. And you have to pay for everything. And even if you come back in time, that means before the fireworkers arrives you get payed, but will get billed for that. And the everything also includes a charge for chaining your car... will is not necessarily forbidden. but chaining your car to a certain place so any officials cant move your car if they have to is. Not right away, but when they have, your not allowed to stop them. but you are allowed to move the car by yourself. So they can call you.
