Amazing. So proud of her. I started using heroin when I was 15 and I continued to stay in that hell for 7 long years. Blessed to say I am 18 months clean and I'm praying for this girl that she can turn it around for herself 🤗

90 days really isn't long. Long-term treatment (therapy) for anorexia AND heroin addiction would be at least 6, if not 12 months long, at least where I live right now.
@jodyhill8332
@jodyhill8332 7 лет назад
Violet Heroine it'll usually be 90 days inpatients and then after that following outpatients support, which for some people isn't enough but that's how it usually is tbh

When I wrote that comment I was working as a social worker in Germany where most inpatient therapy programs for drug addiction are between 6 and 12 months long. Germany has a better health care system than the US, so it makes sense that the treatment there is more extensive.

@@haileeathey7147 I hope everything goes well for you! Really proud that your getting help. As a recovering addict myself (clean 3 years) I personally just feel as if 90 days really isn’t a lot when your extremely addicted. I could of honestly use a year long treatment and I worry that 90 days won’t be enough for the way it wasn’t for me.

I'm 6 months pregnant and something about seeing someone cry makes me cry 😢 I'm pround of her, I know not everyone can do it alone and with just the support of loved ones, however I know some people can.. (My husband and I don't smoke drink do any sort of drug, we keep NO alcohol in our home we aren't partiers at all) that is why I truly believe my little sister came to me, she has been struggling for years and years and she finally reached out to me for help, she refused ANY sort of rehab and or counseling, so we went and got her, moved her in with us it has been 3 months and it HAS been rough but she is doing good she's slowly putting on weight, seems more happy than she has been in YEARS, I'm working with her on quitting smoking BUT one step at a time. I'm just so proud of her and not only her but the many people who are brave enough to seek help regardless how they get it.

Man...addiction is such a terrible thing for a person to go through. Nobody is free of experiencing it. It is hard for an addicted person to recover. I hope Sabrina does well.
@savannahherrera6480
@savannahherrera6480 7 лет назад
The comment you made "nobody is free of experiencing it" is a pretty ignorant thing to say. I grew up with both parents doing all sorts of drugs, I am the only one out of my sisters whom has never touched that crap, I am the only one who has NEVER done anything not even weed! It was MY choice to stay away, it was MY choice to say no, it was MY choice NOT to experience it, it was MY choice to stay free from it.. You might want to choose your words more carefully Js
@carissasypriano8974
@carissasypriano8974 7 лет назад
Savannah Herrera I think he meant by like, the fact that addiction has run soooo rampant in the current years, with first the over-prescribing of pain medication to the switch to heroin addiction amongst (most) addicts when those meds were suddenly cut off... Whether your an addict yourself or not, it's so common that you've surely at least had a friend or loved one that is or has been down that road... And judging by your response, you know that when you someone you love is suffering, well then you too are suffering as well... Hence "nobody is free of experiencing it." I remember when I was incarcerated- really experiencing the lowest of the low in my life- I made a comment to my mother during a visit that went something along the lines of, "oh how would you know anyrhing.? You have NO IDEA what I'm going thru, no idea how hard it is or how much I hurt." To which she replied with, "you think I'm not in there with you.? You think I'm not hurting as well.? As a parent it's my job to protect you, to take care of you. Now I'm visiting you thru glass, I can't even reach out and hug you when you cry. I may not be there in jail with you physically, but mentally I am. To watch you go from the young beautiful confident woman you are, to going thru a severe, long & troublesome addiction, to now being in jail~ with NO idea of when you will be released. I've had to sit by watching hopelessly, not being able to do a damn thing about it.!! Do you have any idea what that's like to a parent.? To watch their baby suffer and not be able to help.?" At the time I sort of just brushed it off, thinking yeah yeah whatever- she really must have a skewed view if she thinks me going thru what I've been thru the past 7 years to now being in jail, possibly looking at 6 years prison time as a sentence... I mean- how cud simply loving someone going thru all that be NEARLY as bad.? Doesn't even come close- right.?? WRONG. A few years down the road and I'm now clean and sober and out of jail, served my time and have not looked back.. Not looked back, that is, until my father hit HIS bottom. His addiction lead him to an attempted suicide followed by an extensive, non-voluntary stay at a mental institution on suicide watch and a '51/50' hold. My father. My hero. The one man I ALWAYS looked up to and adored, the strongest person I have EVER known and someone whom I NEVER thought wud let a substance not only get the best of him, but completely run his entire life into hell-- dragging my mother and myself right down into it with him. I was now faced with the same situation- suffering emotionally at the hands of someone I loved. His addiction and actions were putting my emotions on a wild roller coaster ride, just as my addiction had done to my mother. I was watching someone I love unconditionally suffer and become this person that I recognized physically on the outside, but that was about it. He was in the grips of a heavy addiction and become a completely different person, one whom I'd prefer not to even associate with if I had crossed paths with in life. And I couldn't do a DAMN thing but stand by and watch. Stand by and hope & pray that he wud get help and work, no- FIGHT to get better, to save his life. I remembered what my mom had said to me about her being right there with me (metaphorically) throughout my addiction/incarceration and how surprisingly correct I now realized she was... Funny how you don't realize the ugly truth till it smacks you square in the face. Fast forward to the present day and both my father AND myself are clean & sober... We never have to put ourselves or our loved ones thru anything like that ever again, as long as we stay humble, aware, and continue to keep taking life one day at a time... Now, granted that turned into an essay compared to to the quick reply I had originally intended it to be, but I think you get the point: whether you personally are suffering the heavy weight of an addiction or are helplessly watching someone close to you suffer, nobody is free of experiencing addiction in some way or another... Bless you having to grow up they way you did, and my Hats off to you for never trying anything- that's some serious personal strength you got there, i know most people when faced with your situation unfortunately cud not say the same.

I was in rehab for 18 months for anorexia, heroin addiction, SH and PTSD. I don't live in the US though, treatment here is often longer unless you're at an "addiction only" rehab. Far from everyone get the same chance I did even here. Yet I relapsed first day at home. I took an OD about a month later the day before Christmas and ended up in hospital and then went through detox. I'm now on Subutex and it has helped me stay clean for soon to be a year. I'm still struggling with the ED and my PTSD. I stopped SH at rehab though, but my arms are covered in scar tissue that will never go away. I wish I could go back and make other choices, but I guess you can only move forward the best you can...

On a different note: not only is he sexy as hell, he is so damn kind & compassionate.
