I’d say them being mentioned on the website alone is major reason to assume they’re coming back. Nintendo’s probably aware of how loved they are. The Armored Canon Beetle and Pearly Clamclamp returning makes the Puffstool very likely I say. And caves make Bulbmin super likely as well. Only being allowed 3 Pikmin types would make Bulbmin even more valuable and an even more interesting gameplay mechanic. It would allow caves to have more than 3 hazzards and still expect the player to beat them in one go. I don’t want to get my hopes up, but this Pikmin family reunion definitely seems to be a theme. We even got Olimin already.
I feel like Oatchi serves the purpose of bulbmin once he is sufficiently upgraded (resistance to all hazards and can do Pikmin tasks) so I am not sure whether they will return. Puffmin returning would be really cool though.
@@Topdoggie7 What can I say? The community has cleared a lot of useful information I can use, plus, I don't want people getting excited then being heartbroken. This is a shame, I wanted bulbmin too
I truly hope so bro, mainly Bulbmin since they can co-exist with the Pikmin. Since caves are back it's likely but I'm worried Oatchi pretty much takes their role. Will continue to hope though!
@@VantageEmblem Hmm, true since in Pikmin 2&3 you gained different ability treasures. So there may very well be hope! Let's do our best to hide from the spoilers that'll be coming up in the next few weeks. If they truly do return, I want to be surprised! Will be looking forward to you doing a Pikmin 4 stream!
glow pikmin will more take their role according to the information in the demo it says that they are immune to the main hazzards, and arent allowed in the light.
I could see both returning if we get a puffstool miniboss or full boss in a cave and Bulbmin could return as they are in pikmin 2 but be unable to go to the surface so you might just get them in a specific cave in the end game
@@DARKMK-lj4bx well we haven't seen enough of glow pikmin to make that assumption. If anything glow pikmin seem to be able to stun beasts with that special ability
I hope they are too! Also you may already know, but you're not limited to 3 types all in one day, you can still switch them out in the middle of the day I believe
I'm surprised people are still theorizing that the Disco long legs is using poison, because from Day 1 I've always seen it as a charm effect, similar to the Antenna beetle....oh god antenna beetles are coming back, aren't they?
I would actually wanna see different variations of puffmin where the rocks would have their body shape, whites with their beady eyes, wings with well their wings and beady eyes as well, purples with their little hair things (I still never understood them), and etc.
I think Nintendo is realizing some things, mainly: give the people what they want. There's really no reason not to, people love fan service, even the mere mention of a beloved thing causes uproars in communities. If they don't include something because of game balancing, balance them to fit, even if most of their core identity is somewhat changed we'll still love it, just having it at all is enough.
I hope so, but I don’t mind if neither come back because we are already getting truckloads of content. I enjoyed the vid and liked your analysis, keep up the great work!❤️
Both of these would definitely be a treat for us OG Pikmin players since both of these were so cool but short lived also with this I think both of these should be added to bloom with ice and glow for the ultimate pikmin bloom update
I found a post on Reddit about the website stating that they won’t come back because one, old pictures, and two, the text says something like “These can’t be classified as pikmin.” I don’t read Japanese (there are three Japanese alphabets) but that’s what the poster said.
If they did have bulbmin in it would be a cave that is like strictly only one pikmen type allowed kind like the one cave in 2 where you have the water wraith chasing you
i already made several proposals to rebalance the bulbmin but keep it pretty unique still elsewhere and tldr: I want the bulbmin, that's it, perfect lifeform : P
I feel spoiler prevention is genuinely possible. Sure 1 and 2 just got HD rereleases, but it still feels deliberate to not only call Puffmin and Bulbmin out but also rank Glow Pikmin in their tier of "Pikmin feralness." The mentioning of poison spores also seems like a solid hint that they'll be back to me. If those spores are what's being used by the Arachnorb boss like you suggested, it seems it not only is no longer an instant effect but is also used by more creatures. I also didn't even consider the idea of facing either type in a Dandori Battle or any other potential "Battle Cave" variant, which would be nuts.
I think I'm Pikmin 4, Bulbmin would only work if they're no longer resistant to everything but maybe less prone to getting attacked by Bulborbs. Would make things interesting for caves that have a lot of hazards and Bulborbs as the theme for the cave.
In pikmin 4 demo it says that glow pikmin are resistant to fire, electric, etc. like Bulbmin so I think glow pikmin are the replacements to bulbmin because glow pikmin will be able to be used in caves and night
I look at part of the demo and With Seing a Player Get Blue Pikmin Early on the image showing the Pikmin Shows in oldder title and knowing caves are back (I Bet Bulbmin are Going be in the game and likey will have the same gimick as before for Balancing reasons)
You know, i don't care if bulbmin break the games ballance. I'm still going to do what ialways do. Use them to supplement any small squad i have on hand for scouting.
Light spoilers for pikmin 4 here, just a warning 😅 If you’re ok with that, continue reading. I flipped out when I saw the puff stool in pikmin 4. I was so excited to see puffmin/mushroom pikmin return. What would wing pikmin look like? I threw I wing pikmin at the puff stool and waited for it to be hit with the spores. And it started to dance. I was very disappointed. Honestly this was one enemy I wanted to return the most… I did throw other pikmin at it incase it was just with wing pikmin. But yeah, I wish you’re video was right 🥲 -Zoe
I think Bulmin are likely since from a mechanical viewpoint they serve to replace any pikmin that you lost during in the cave as they are immune to everything they are meant to replace any missing pikmin you may need inside a cave since you can’t get more pikmin in caves EXCEPT for Bulmin
those screenshots have to mean they are in the game, i dont see why else they would even need to mention them at all if they have no relevance in the game. That being said... the other captains are likely going to make a cameo as well.
I was looking to get Pikmin 2 on switch, even though my brother has them on Wii and I was wondering if Pikmin 2 had all of it’s E-Reader content or not?
I don't really think so, every pikmin in the pikmin garden site was presented with images from pikmin 4, and It's very strange that bulbmin are the only ones shown with previous game screen shots.
i kinda see the issue that newer pikmin dont fit the anatomy of puffmin unless they make new model for every new pikmin which i doubt and would look a bit inconsistent
To be fair, look at how they did the ice effect - they could do some sweeping change to their texture to make a major change like this. It’s only 8 Pikmin types or so that probably would be directly in the line of fire for the puffmin, which isn’t too much work overall, but it’s still significant Tbh, I’d just love if they went there as a dev team, but I have my doubts
If the puffmin do return i want the same mechanic that's what the bulbmin got in Pikmin 2 with if you destroy their leader the puffstool then you get the puffmin back and back under your control not as regular Pikmin but as puffmin
Does anyone know about a puffmin glitch in pikmin 1 the puffstoll was at 1 hp but it finished its puff thing it got my blues and they would have died right? No they grabbed the dead puffstoll and now I have blue puffmin I hav ethe footage on my switch from the replay vid
Nintendo made the puffmin Ḋ̤͇̮͙ͥȦ̶̵̗̳N̰̜͉͔ͬ̽͢C̸̣̭͖̤̒̈͊͟E̸̖̪̱͚ͨ̀͜!?!?😮 They made a H̶̪͍̒ͥ͑̓O̵̷̪̰ͩ͆ͅŖ̴̪̈̄͞N̰̜͉͔ͬ̽͢E̸̖̪̱͚ͨ̀͜Ḋ̤͇̮͙ͥ canon beetle so he’s always a Ȧ̶̵̗̳Ḋ̤͇̮͙ͥU̸̫̠̰͈̕L̳͈͉̅̊T̷̫͉̰͕̒́ and the regular are always II̶̴̗̗̦͍ͨͭ̉͢͟N̰̜͉͔ͬ̽͢F̵̦̺͕́̐͟Ȧ̶̵̗̳N̰̜͉͔ͬ̽͢T̷̫͉̰͕̒́S̵̶̮̬͖̄͑͟!?! Oh my B̟̈́̆̐̄̚͜U̸̫̠̰͈̕L̳͈͉̅̊B̟̈́̆̐̄̚͜M̶̷̲̊ͥ͋͟I̶̴̗̗̦͍ͨͭ̉͢͟N̰̜͉͔ͬ̽͢ Nintendo!😢
I always thought a good way to balance bulbmin was to have them be almost completely useless in a fight and being amazing a just hauling back treasure. Most Pikmin have secondary abilities that coincide with their primary resistance (blues swim, yellows throw higher, reds do more damage). Since they don’t have arms, they can’t hang on to do damage. They’d be like rocks without the damage and stun. Where they lack in damage and puzzle solving, they make up for by being able to carry treasure through any hazard without worrying about them walking into something stupid like a fire geyser.
That's always been their gimmick though. immune to fire, but no bonus damage. Immune to electricity, no flight bonus. Survives in water, can't lifeguard (minor but still!). Immune to poison but can't do all the additives whites can. Their resistances are still invaluable, but imagine if they also had ALL the sidegrade bonuses on TOP of it lol.
i hope theyre in the game but i dont think they are i like puffmin more than bulbmin the puffstool is such a cool enemy pikmin 4 looks big but i dont know if theres room for bulbmin
After the piklopedia leak: spoilers btw Bulbmin don’t return but the puffstool does so puffmin do. Bulbmin don’t return because the glow Pikmin are immune to every elemental hazard but can’t be used above ground and can be only used at night or in caves if you have glow seeds which can be obtained after you complete a night and all your glow Pikmin will convert into seeds so you can use them in caves.
The Bulbmin should have just been instead of Oachi (the dog) just one giant Bulbmin Or you could get many but only place one in your party that acts like Oachi. Although Oachi fits the newer art style of the Pikmin franchise
As much as itd be exciting i dont thibk we need these two to return also while the Puffstools use spores calling them poison spores would be a translation error as the spores are not poisonous they sinply infect a pikmin.
For some reason I'm really not optimistic about Bulbmin. I want them to be in the game, and it would make sense to not put them in the marketing, and it brings back all Pikmin, but I really can't think of them being in it for some reason, Oatchi kinda feels like a replacement to them.
yeah unless they significantly change how bulbmin work it isn’t happening but i’d love to have puffmin and bulbmin back even if bulbmin are massively different, having every pikmin variant back would fee like a giant love letter to the series so far
