Hello! I’m VantageEmblem and I am a Pikmin variety channel!
I'm an active member of the Pikmin community who is particularly well-known for my deep analysis of all facets of the Pikmin series. I try my very best to make this channel the place to go for Pikmin speculation as well, especially when new entries are on the horizon. I will also branch out to Fire Emblem from time to time, but the general focus here is on Pikmin. I'm also a game developer, and you may also know me as one of the guys developing The Distant Planet, a Dandori game of my own!
I have a theory thats a glow pikmin is bulbmin thats die beause in olimar say that parazite pikmin can be green and glow pikmin are green glow pikmin have same traits like bulbmin
they BETTER not make the pikmins into a minion knock-off I swear to god Illumination, Don't you DARE ruin the pikmin Anyways, i think they will make Olimar talk (he talks with speech bubbles which other people can understand and talk/text back) and the Pikmins making cute lil pikmin noises Also if the plot is based on pikmin 1 (without louie), the end credit scene should be Louie in the dark ominously eating a pikmin shaped food (could be a puk puk/carrot when the lights turn on)
I rather embarrassingly had 6 pikmin themed birthday parties in a row (ages 4-10). and each time my mother would reprint pikmin cutouts on paper and line my house's halls with them. Still the greatest birthdays of my life.
theyre like weird... colonial organisms. Like they can all merge into one entity. Like if their weird ghost.... cores?? seeds? idk can all work together Im guessing the photon is like a panic mode nucleus that retreats to the luminol. Like if they're sort of just a weird collection of seeds which are all able to sort of... uh project? some kind of external body and need to recharge if that body is destroyed.
I think the glowmin are actually infected pikmins. I think the Lumiknolls are infected onion. Some species infects the onion and create glow pikmin, thats why it has a different flower. Complete different species. This species that infects the glow pikmin also is the culprit for leafication virus. Infecting humans, dogs, and bulborbs, creating leafings and bulbmin. In pikmin 2 we see both bulborb and bulbmin because the bulborb is infected and creates bulbmins. The same thing with the Lumiknolls and glow pikmin. The flowers of infected beings are different but I think their related. Bulbmin and glow pikmin stay in caves, because juvenile bulborbs are only out at night unlike the humans and dogs they are able to stay outside. The glow pikmin is a species taken over from a virus, the same virus that causes leafication. 2 questions I dont know how the fit into this theory 1) Why do glow pikmin create glowsap? The glowsap is like a vaccine, Yonny at some points says the as long as the glowsap is in someones system it destroy leaves before they can sprout. What im confused is why would glow pikmin create a cure if their a host for the same virus. 2) Why do different beings have different flowers? Why would the same virus create different leaves, it doesnt make sense. The only thing I can think of is their different strands of the virus. Like we have different strands of the flu which has varying strength, maybe strands here makes them able to take over more complex organisms. I forgor, the leafication is caused by the onion. Oops but i still think it's a virus of sorts, maybe it can infect like how the onion does.
They’re not useless, they’re mostly useless. Let’s compare all the original colours of Pikmin with their second perks, Yellows get dig speed and throw height, Reds get bonus damage on every single enemy, and Blues… just a swimming ability, like they weren’t already in the water, they weren’t given an ability to expand their usefulness out of what they specialize in, they were given a ability that really added nothing besides it not being a nightmare to hit water enemies, they could just have this ability to just help with their underwater mobility. Here’s a concept for a REAL blue second perk, if you break down every single type, they kind of specialize in a special class, reds are primary attackers, yellow got utility, where is our medic? What if blues were able to save Pikmin inflicted with hazards? dispatching from your squad to save them, this makes them not only a quicker way to save your Pikmin from a hazard, but also being able to save them while not being there, possibly being able to take down that fire or poison enemy on their own. this is just expanding on their lifeguard, original ability and making it more viable. This is just my overall opinion on blues, MAKE THEM MEDIC FROM TF2.
This area seems far too primitive to be so late in the game. It barely even features any strong enemies, unlike the final areas of Pikmin 2 and 4. I think it makes more sense for it to be the original concept for the Twilight River or the Garden of Hope. Ironically, I think it even feels LESS difficult than those two. I also feel like those Louie-capsules could have been other shipwrecked people you were meant to rescue, much like in Pikmin 4. Maybe that was an idea they scrapped pretty early on and only reused for the next game.
What if it’s like a Mock-umentary, and it’s in the form of like Disney’s Earth. So we get to see all these creatures and Pikmin in a natural environment without having some major plot and it could be like the Pikmin short films, just a bunch of them.
Here would be my Pitch : Laika makes a stop motion Pikmin movie, with Olimar after escaping narrating through the whole story. The movie’s theme is about family. The first 5-15 minutes would be about Olimar life on Hoccatate. He recounts how he loves his family, but things are becoming increasingly more repetitive. His kids asking for things he can’t buy, his wife scolding him for minor things, his boss sending him to the most unpleasant places for deliveries, & his co-worker just generally being a nuisance. One night, Olimar snaps at his family and goes on a midnight drive to cool off, far away from any known planets so he can be as far way from people as possible. Olimar is so caught up in his thoughts that he doesn’t notice he’s about to collide with a meteor until it’s too late. Olimar crashes onto PNF-404, a place that surprises him because of how lush it is, compared to other places like Hoccatate or Kopai, which are either extremely barren or very urban. Here he suddenly feels alone, something he thought he wanted but now he doesn’t enjoy. Here he meets the Pikmin, who remind Olimar of his family back home, even if he doesn’t realize it at first. They help Olimar realize he does care about his family over the course of the movie, all without them saying a word. Throughout this Olimar & the Pikmin encounter terrifying wildlife, while he tries to rebuild his ship. He eventually makes it home to his family, happy even though has has to leave the one he made while on PNF-404. Some scenes would include a chase sequence with the Smokey Progg, a fight sequence against the Goolix where the shot lingers on a drop from it after it’s defeated ;) & maybe even a dream sequence referencing the bad ending.
I still have a tiny bit of hope that DLC will be announced at next month's direct. Very unlikely but possible, especially given how incredibly dry the year is looking right now
My current idea is a game where you're trying to terraform/get resources from a planet, and you control an army of little robots that can build machines or take apart scrap/remnants to slowly begin reworking the planet, there would be dangers, when it hits night strange creatures begin to surround whatever area you're in, and while the bots are recharging you've gotta hope the defenses you set up will last. Pretty much a Dandori/Tower Defense game
Remember Nintendo do has Nintendo Pictures now too. Could be a show or movie I could see them having another tier of NSO for next console with movies, shorts, shows and anime eventually.
A claymation Pikmin film with live action sets would actually be peak. That would be SUCH a great way to emulate the game’s uniqueness into a film. My biggest hope for a Pikmin film though, is that it wouldn’t lose the series’s heart by making it too goofy or two serious. 1 and 2 strike a GLORIOUS middle ground. Goofy characters grappling with realistic struggles, that’s my FAVORITE thing in media and my favorite aspect of Pikmin. I’d want a movie to capture that. I actually think Pikmin 3 has the best plot to adapt to a movie, I just don’t think the game itself does it justice. Show the Koppaites grapple with the pressure and looming threat of starvation, give them a character arc of learning to plan and strategize better. Like, when they actually get to the planet they realize “we have no idea what the heck we’re doing and everyone we love will die if we don’t figure it out” and have them grapple with that. Have them learn from the Pikmin’s teamwork and grow out of being JUST “silly characters”.
Unless I missed it in the video, now I'm just left wondering how this would've fit into the story. Easiest thing I can picture is Louie landing the ship here after you save him. But even so, that means the Blue Pikmin are still way too late to the party. I wonder if it's possible that you were supposed to get something else from Twilight River, come here and save Louie (and find Blues) and then the second half of the Garden of Hope? Not sure. Either way, this does explain why the last portion of the game felt kind of rushed.
