What does God say in His Word about who will be "Left Behind" to inherit the earth? What is the pattern in God's Word regarding who will be swept away (Matthew 24) and who will be left? Does the Bible teach a secret rapture where the Christians will be taken away to leave the unbelievers behind?
This message was preached by Jeff Durbin, pastor of Apologia Church and host of Apologia Radio, at the God, Governments, and Culture Conference in Arizona.

“Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.” ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭3:10-11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

If I told my daughters I’d keep them from an hour of caos and turbulence that I know that it is coming towards and into our house, would that necessarily mean I would have to remove them from their home, or would it just be enough to keep them safe, if I protected, covered them, or kept them hidden in a certain room where they wouldn’t be harmed? Or even, if I tell you, to keep a spoon or fork from being seen or used, will you have to take them from the kitchen (or house) or is it enough to put them inside a drawer? Remember this is the same Jesus that prayed to the Father so that we wouldn’t be taken from the world but kept from evil.. and also, Jesus promises in that passage to keep that group from the hour of tribulation that is coming upon ALL THE INHABITANTS OF THE EARTH. If He was to rapture, snatch, take these people away from our planet, there would be no point in letting them know there was no reason for being afraid, because they wouldn’t have to be here to watch the whole thing after all.. Am I wrong? 🙃

@@CarolinaRiack, Jesus said he'd keep them away from the time of trial that will come on the whole world to try everyone on earth. So, your example would have to be something like promising to keep your daughters away from the time of harm that's coming on your whole house when everyone in the house is harmed, which is impossible without removing them from the house during that time. Also, Jesus never prayed that the Father not remove us from this world but keep us from evil instead. In John 17, Jesus was talking about his Ascension, and he prayed that they would be as one and that the Father not take those disciples with him but keep them from evil. Then Jesus specifically expanded his prayer to everyone else who would believe because of their ministries, that they also would be as one-without mentioning leaving us behind. In hindsight, Jesus was simply praying for them to remain in harmony and stay behind at his Ascension in order to build the church and write the New Testament, then he prayed for the church to be in harmony, too. Jesus didn't mentioned the rapture at all here.

Because my children arent saved, it upsets me when Christians are wanting the rapture right now . Its terrifying to me, I pray to God for time for the unsaved, hell is literally a horrific place, I pray that noone has to go there, especially not my grown babies. God grant us time for outreach!

Delores M I think most believing Christians know that we are to care about the unsaved. When I think or say, "Come, Lord Jesus!", I also remember the ones who arent ready. If people are listening, I'll usually throw in "and if you (meaning them) aren't ready, get ready. Believe in Jesus the Savior and be saved!" or something like that. I think this world has gone so drastically insane, that it is something God can use to clearly show the superiority of His way. In the hands of wicked people, we can see that we have not been so wise. Your daughters have something precious beyond most people, a praying mom who loves their souls and seeks them. I hope you see the salvation if your girls, Delores, before we leave by the Rapture, or by death. And we shouldn't think we know how long or short a time it is, because we don't. A lot of our signs of the times, are vaguer signs of the birth-pangs, and we do not know how long it would take for the picture to become more definite. And we don't know when the Rapture is, except in reverse, from the culmination of Jesus's return, which we cannot know when it is going to be. What we can know, is that Jesus cares more about the people we love, than we do. He can be trusted to love them, too, and to do right. Becoming strong in trusting Him with those we love, will help us pray for them without doubting Him. Because I'm bad at keeping my own intentions of praying more, I can't honestly promise that I will keep them in prayer, but I will get in praying condition and say a prayer for them. God bless you and your daughters, Delores.

Delores M - If Jesus comes before any children are ready, God still gives them a chance to be saved from Hell (Revelation 7:14-15). All children should get ready because tomorrow is not promised to anyone (car accidents, murders, ect... ). It might better for the rapture to happen soon so your children can see that Jesus is Lord and have the opportunity to be saved while they are still on this side of life. By the way, I also have relatives who are not saved. I pray for suffering to come to their lives soon so that they can open up their hearts and come to Jesus for forgiveness and healing. It sounds harsh but think on that for a bit and I think you will agree with me. I say this in love.

I believe the primary message was don't allow the concept of the rapture hider what God desires you to do. Continue to spread the word to the lost and live your life for God. As well as raising a godly family. I personally do believe in the rapture but it's important to also be prepared to face possible persecution

Prynce NY Jesus said that "in this world, ye HAVE tribulation, but be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world". But He also said that there was a time of "great tribulation, unlike any time ever was before or ever will be again". It is this time that Jesus told us to pray to be counted worthy to escape, those things that are coming on the world, to try them. Do our tribulations have a purifying, "tried as gold" effect? They can help us draw near to God, because we realize we need Him. But the unsaved world will be tried by this special time of wrath, in this way: to see if they will harden in rebellion against Him, taking that mark that is a choice to be His enemy forever, or seek His mercy, becoming the tribulation believers, or "tribulation saints".
@charliejohn1
@charliejohn1 6 лет назад
Prynce NY- I agree with your statement. I too also believe in the pre-tribulation rapture and because Jesus will come for His bride at anytime, we must be about God's business, sharing the Gospels so that people can come to Christ and not face the Great Tribulation. God bless.

There’s a tremendous amount of scripture that supports believers being raptured. A lot of the scriptures have already been pointed out in the comments below. There’s a lot more. I am a pre-tribulation believer. During the seven year tribulation we believers will be celebrating at the marriage feast....at the end of the seven year tribulation we will be with Christ when His feet touch the earth. In the rapture we meet the Lord in the air. I will throw in 2 Thes. 2:7. The only thing holding back the tide of evil is Holy Spirit in-dwelt Christians . Once we are removed, evil will not be restrained. It would be a beautiful thing if we were in alignment on this topic, but really it shouldn’t be an issue for those Christians going about the Lords work. We all need to be ready. God bless.

Jeff I have always enjoyed watching all of your sermons. I have 100% agreed with everything you have ever preached until I have heard this. This I completely disagree on. There is many verses that tells us we will be saved from the wrath to come. Gid always removes his chosen ones before any judgement. Noah and Lots family for example. This is the first I have ever heard of the rapture of the wicked. We leave at the sound of the trumpet and come back with our new glorified bodies to inherit the new Earth.

@@roywhite8504 you say removed as in they were taken out of the world. They were left in the world and died. Noah was the one removed and set in a boat floating above the wreckage of the world. I thought up until the 20 minute mark the presentation was going very well…..When you got to the point of what you were obviously leading up to swapping out the bad with the good and vice versa... I did a double take, I continued for a while and gave the position a chance, but it really is off the wall, and not because it goes against the traditional view. I am not one for tradition, but I am one for scripture and what your pushing could only persuade a person that was not sound where scripture is concerned. At realizing the inevitable path and outcome I paused the video/stopped watching and ventured out into the comments. They can be even more entertaining at times than the position they are critiquing. I found many that were harsh and others calling for kinder gentler chastisements of the position being championed. I also found some that were well presented and well informed. Josh Dub came across as one of those and then naturally there was the inevitable ankle biting, in response to his comment… Here is the motive for my bothering to add to them……does it matter? Does it matter how God saves a man? It may To God…..considering the question myself I did see a consistent pattern on Gods part, but from the mans point of view isn’t he just glad God saved him? Take Lot…the scripture says righteous Lot? Say what!!! I thought all had fallen short that none, no not one was found to be righteous, and then Lot? (then that was by the law)...but Lot!! After being saved the guy got drunk and funky with his daughters……What kind of family issues did this guy have going on? Drunk...I was drunk? That's not an excuse Lot if you were too drunk to know what you were doing you would also be too drunk to do it.... Why is he being called righteous in the first place? Abraham gave his wife to the pharaoh to avoid being ….pushed aside/killed? Is that trusting God? How was he said to be righteous and there is a common theme…… Noah and his family were saved but the guy had to build the ark that carried them all safely through the storm. All of these men heard and paid attention to the voice of God. In fact every person that we hear of in scripture that was saved in any way heard and listened to God either directly or by messenger, and here I am not referring to a minister or priest I am speaking of a messenger. They were not good guys but they were good listeners. God is good, He saves us because He is good, not because we deserve it...... I am also quite interested in eschatology….All of scripture is interesting but nothing catches my interest like end times. That said the point is to be around after to see the outcome…salvation is the point. If you don’t get that far then how or why isn’t going to make any real difference. So I think the question that needs addressing is; if there is a pattern to Gods doing things, and there are examples of salvation in the past; how did it come about. God warned them….provided an escape….. they heard Him, believed Him, and took it. THE END So rather than focusing on the left hand while the right hand is doing something tricky, why don’t people who care just focus on the simple question of.... did you hear God give a warning? what was the plan?, did you believe Him? now get moving…..Two addendums:After leaving this comment I felt that I had failed to make something important as clear as it needed to be and that was to do with hearing God...Many self identifying as Christians take the Scripture to be Gods word period!!! and by reading it they are hearing the word....and by believing it they are saved..... Is that true? NO!While it is true that scripture plays an important role in the life of a Christian it is not true that it was ever intended to bring about faith or by faith salvation....As Paul puts it, All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. Obviously it is meant for the saved not to energize a dead spirit. As what Paul speaks to are the activities of the living....Without the Spirits guiding, scripture can't even be understood and we are told by the same..... the natural man ( as of yet undegenerated or spiritually dead) receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.Yeshua says and this should be taken literally I stand at the door and knock if any hear my voice!!!!A lot of people think hearing voices is a bad thing, and it certainly can be...As a person though that excepts the reasonable nature of the argument for God or in other words excepts at an intellectual level the reason/argument that God exists. Why would you then think it was not crazy for Him, a personal/powerful God who has adopted you as His children to not speak to you? Assuming you are identifying as Christen...In Romans 10:17 we read So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.....Keep in mind this is an English translation of the Greek which reads instead of word/Rhema ( a spoken Word ).That is not to say that every voice we could hear is God or good....some people do suffer from mental illness; and along with God we are told there is a host of angelic beings which are also capable of communicating with us by spiritual means... As a result we are instructed to test every spirit by the light of scripture.....Christianity is all about life.....Spiritual life. Not behavior modification.We are born and alive bodily, we have consciousness, the sole, but we were also created to be spiritually alive.Every person easily understands the physical nature...we get hungry, it hurts when we fall down, and so on.Every person understands the sole, I think therefor I am, we laugh, we cry.But it is much more difficult/not impossible, to comprehend spirit...Unless of course as with the other two you have personally experienced it. The dead often don't know they are dead...they don't see any problem with the way they are and they never will unless something stirs them to a different state of being, how could they? Here Calvin jumps in and says God saves whom He will and casts all the rest into hell....I am not a Calvinist....While we can not understand what it is to be spirit filled without the experience, we can know a thing intellectually and for that reason I don't hold to Calvinism... The natural man can understand at an intellectual level and excepted God as a very real possibility even while they don't know Him they can know of Him, and if so may ask why hasn't this powerful personal God been heard from by me as He is said to have been by all these heroes of the faith? They can seek Him and again scripture says; you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. Many even in churches today need to hear God while there is time!!!Not just for salvation but for the great joy of knowing Him...

About 2009 I was lying awake in my bed facing my open window and could see the woods illuminated by the moonlight. I started drifting off but suddenly there was a low crisp horn sounding that became louder. I saw multiple bright white figures with wings floating slowly down the wooded hill towards my building. One bright figure came directly up close to the window and I became fearful and hid my face. Then it got quiet and everything went back to normal, figures vanished. I heard a soft but strong voice tell me don’t be afraid, prepare and allow for His will to guide you. I was fully awake and this was not a dream. As a child I could see the spiritual aura around people, I could see dark and light figures, I could feel myself being guarded by angels and knowing that something dark wanted to take/hurt me. I have always had a darkness that seems to follow me but I am protected. I have had many premonition/precognitive dreams. I have astral projected as well. I don’t know exactly what God has in store or why I have been given these gifts (even though at times it feels like too much or scary and not sure if they are really gifts) I just want to be useful for his purpose for my life. Since I have strayed and became distant from my relationship with God, I have lost some of those spiritual connections but they always come back when I randomly feel the urge to reconnect but I have never lost the ability of seeing things in my dreams. I have always had a strong feeling since childhood that in the end times, I will be tested and I need to strengthen my connection with him so that I am ready. We are weak and not worthy but through Christ we can be. I am nothing without God. I don’t know when the rapture will happen, but I do know that we all need to be ready for that day. Angels will accompany us to heaven. I have always felt within my soul that I might be left behind to face the tribulation even though I have heard contrary arguments of who will be here and not here during those times. Regardless of what happens, I’m not trying to predict or insert myself as some martyr. I just believe that whatever God has in store, I want to be used for his purpose and not my own. I will do whatever is required, I just need his strength with me. If I don’t allow his presence to be near me, I will fail. Please if you have taken the time to read this, I ask that you pray for me that I receive clarity and strength. God bless you all and stay the course to earn salvation as a child of God.

As for the tribulation situation. I believed in the pre tribulation rapture cause that was the first thing taught to me or that I learned. But after researching about it more, I found really no scriptural evidence to back that claim up. Only false comparisons and false interpretations. Both sides don’t have clear scriptural evidence about it. And that’s what I thought for a while. Then I read the Bible more and realized if only non believers will be here during the tribulation, what is the point of the antichrist and the mark of the beast? And really all the deception to those who r already deceived and going to hell anyway? But that isn’t really scriptural proof just my feelings. But then when I read about Paul emphasizing to the Thessalonians about the end times and everything concerning the return of Jesus. I understood the sense of urgency that we will go through this because y warn people if they don’t have to go through it. Y didn’t he just say repent and believe the gospel? But that wasn’t enough for me. So I took what Paul said in 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 and it was the most clear counter argument to the pre tribulation rapture theory. It says According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. So he says we who r still left after the tribulation will then be raised up after those dead in Christ. Pre tribulation rapture believers agree about the rapture at the end and this is the same event but they believe in 2 raptures one before and one after the tribulation. But the scripture proves at the end if we r still alive we will be raise after the dead in Christ. And it just makes more sense for that to be the case. If a non believer sees people disappearing or getting ascended, u think they won’t blink an eye? But if a one world government, military, religion, etc emerges they won’t blink an eye because it has already started. It makes sense logically and Biblically. And I know it may seem scary and worrisome. But it is better then false hope of not experiencing it. Of course it would be better to not experience it but it will be the ultimate test to reject the mark of the beast. Paul tells u to stand firm because it will be the hardest test ever. But if we r with Jesus and focusing on him at all times, we will be fine. God bless you. Stay strong

I love you Jeff and Apologia ministry. I watch your videos and love the evangelical ministry to the abortionists and cults as well as your sermons. I completely agree with the bold stand on God’s sovereignty in salvation and the doctrines of Grace, so I guess it’s kind of refreshing to find something we may disagree on. I haven’t studied eschatology for several years and am open to all sorts of views on the matter. When I stumbled on this video I thought I would get a good picture of some beliefs I don’t normally hear. However I don’t think the reasoning in this particular sermon is as sound as in most of the other sermons you’ve posted. As Calvinists we are always attacked for allegedly not being interested in reaching the lost. Their argument is that since we believe that God decides who he saves then we won’t want to evangelize because God will save the elect anyway. They thank that is a good argument to discount God’s sovereignty because of the alleged affects it has on the Calvinist, in affect making us all hyper-Calvinists. We argue that their reasoning really pointes to their own misinterpretation on why Christians evangelize in the first place. They thank we should evangelize because we are trying to better the plight of man by somehow convincing him to go to heaven, but we argue that in reality the only reason to evangelize is the glory of God alone. Therefore we will uncompromisingly evangelize even if we think the audience is hostile or absolutely uninterested in listening at all. We do this because He told us to and he receives glory no matter what happens. In reality the Doctrines of Grace have the completely opposite effect on Calvinists then non-Calvinists assert they do. In the same vain, you assert that since premillennialist’s belief, that a rapture happens, followed by a seven year tribulation period, before finally being followed by the millennial reign of Christ, is a damaging Christian doctrine. You allege that premillennialism makes the believer fatalistic or less willing to stand up for their Lord and fight the wickedness of this present age because he/she thinks God has preordained the world to get much worse before God makes it new again. Also that the belief that God will keep his elect from his judgment that he pours out on the earth will make the believer less likely to want to battle the world while he/she is still here. Respectfully, I don’t think you are being consistent in your beliefs. What’s true for Calvinism is just as true for premillennialism, God’s Sovereignty. He does as He pleases weather that means He wants us to evangelize to everyone in order to gather his elect or stand against the events he has preordained to happen. Remember we do both for the Glory of God alone not because we believe that our efforts are needed by God. Our efforts in both cases are done with God as our focus not man or this world. It seems that you use your own past personal imbalanced in eschatology as proof of the errors of premillennialism. As if to say because you applied your beliefs in premillennialism wrongly then it must follow that premillennialism must have caused your erroneous beliefs. Of course you notice this error in thinking when arguing against non-Calvinists (soteriology) but seem to embrace it in making an argument against premillennialism (eschatology). Just because there are professing Calvinist says that they will not evangelize has no more bearing on the accuracy of Calvinism then a professing premillennialist longing by his pool has on the accuracy of premillennialism. Briefly on traditions, I do find it interesting how traditions can affect ones interpretation of texts. Unfortunately in my opinion your interpretation of Matthew 24:34 seems to be the most affected of the two interpretations. The wicked were left behind on the ground to endure God’s judgment in the Flood (tribulation) while Noah and his family where taken away in the Ark (rapture) and preserved above the flood (judgment) before returning to the ground when the waters receded to start anew (millennium). Again in Jerusalem it was the Christians who were taken out of the city (rapture) and the non-Christians who were left behind to endure Gods judgment (tribulation). At times in your sermon it seemed that you think that premillennialists think the wicked well inherit the earth but they don’t think that at all. They believe that the wicked will be judged and the righteous will inherit the earth. They believe that every promise or prophecy ever made will literally come to pass. Thus the necessity of a literal earthly millennial reign of Christ. Please don’t misunderstand me, I’m not one who claims to have all the answers in eschatology and I am defiantly open to being persuaded to your theories on the end times. I look forward to you elaborating on them in the future especially on Matthew 24 because I know you have a high regard for scripture. Sadly most of the people I have heard try to exposit that chapter that are not dispensationalist have to allegorize, spiritualize, or poeticize the chapter to keep from saying that Jesus’s prophecies fell short. Which is something that I am confident you won’t do. Again I love you’ll and sorry for such a long post.

What is wrong with waiting and excitedly being ready for His return? Isn't there a crown in store for those who are ready for Him? Think about the 10 virgins..., only 5 were TRULY ready for the Groom. The other 5 were left behind. When your eyes are on Jesus and Heaven, the things of this world will grow strangely dim. What's wrong with that? Instead of allowing us to be lukewarm, the Rapture motivates us to more fervently share the Gospel since time is short. And why would God pour out His wrath (Rev. 16) on Himself in a TRUE follower of Jesus??? "Christ in you..." (Col.1:27)

VERDE VALLEY You’re absolutely right. It doesn’t say this. However, riding off the assumption that God isn’t able to withhold His wrath from His people isn’t correct either. Rightly divide the word. Shadrach, Meschach and Abednego were standing in flames, and yet untouched. The Israelites were in Egypt when God brought judgement down upon the Egyptians, yet was His mighty hand not with them also? If God is powerful enough to expand the heavens with countless rotating galaxies, yet precise enough to knit the very fabric of our DNA, can we not declare He is sovereign over everything, even in His own judgements against the wicked? It is only a hard message to believe once its antithesis lay before you, so I urge you to reconsider your position looking at the texts themselves, with no other explanation. Jesus is the blessed hope, not escape from the very place God intended to bless His people with.

When has a thief ever given an estimated time he was coming over to rob you? No one knows the day or the hour and He will come like a thief in the night. Well we know that the great tribulation will last 7 years and that the antichrist will be revealed in the middle after 3 1/2 years. If the church is living through the tribulation we would be able to calculate Jesus’ coming and it wouldn’t be like a “thief in the night.”

Brother, although I love the Gospels of Jesus ministry to the JEWS, I am struck by the omission, in your teachings, of the continuing work of the Holy Spirit after Jesus Ascension. He led the preaching work of the early church and calls Paul (who authors two thirds of the New Testament) to be Apostle to the Gentiles. The Church today consists primarily of Gentile believers. The word of God is must be understood in context and that means sequence must be considered. Several mysteries can be found in Paul's epistles that were not revealed at the time of Jesus ministry. They were meant for the Church to understand. Paul wrote of our Blessed Hope and teaches us to yearn for and meditate on the things of Heaven our desire to be united with our Beloved Lord and Savior. He also writes in Romans 11 that God will not forsake the descendants of Abraham forever, but will turn His attention to them again once the "fullness of the Gentiles has come in". Will you address the mysteries taught by Paul?

Gina Phillips, well said. And I believe the scene in Rev 7 is the fulfillment of Paul’s prophesy in Rom 11:25, showing an Israelite revival after the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. It shows angels holding back the great tribulation during an Israelite revival on earth while church saints celebrate their entry into heaven, having just come away from that terrible time of testing that’s coming on everyone who misses the eagles.

I like Jeff Durbin but I kind of disagree with this particular teaching. The meek shall inherit the earth, yes, I agree, but perhaps it's referring to the new earth after the great tribulation? Please correct me if my understanding is wrong though. Thank you!

Its post trib, pre wrath. The rapture takes place at the 1 thousand 300 and 30 and 5 days mark. Its a 7 years event. the first 3.5 years is tribulation for all people on earth(1260 days). Then 3.5 years of wrath poured out on unbelievers(1290-75 days). (the 75 days immediately after the 1260 day mark is the great tribulation for Christians where we all get murdered by the antichrist,(abomination of desolation starts at the 1260 day mark). the rapture takes place(at the 1335 day mark), then there is 3.5 years of wrath on those who are left behind. basically No one can predict the day of the rapture because its impossible to know when day 1 of this 7 year event starts.
@MrWise_Christian
@MrWise_Christian 5 лет назад

(1260+1290= 7 years) because you add 30 days every 7 years to the Jewish calendar. this is why the second half of the 7 years is 1290 days not 1260 days(like it is in the first half).

@Kenzie K all good, if you want the long story short on the book of revelations it is very simple. (day 1 of 7 years starts): then We have: 6 seals, then sun and moon go darkened, then the rapture(Jesus in the clouds), then wrath starts AT(really after) seal 7, then 7 trumpets and 7 vials(bowls) which is Gods wrath are poured out on the wicked, then Armageddon(at 7 year mark)(Jesus on white horse). then the kingdoms of this world become the kingdoms of our lord, then Satan bound 1,000 years, during this 1,000 years we get(and rule) a millennium kingdom under Jesus from Jerusalem, then Satan is released again, (Satan turns fleshly people who we rule over in the millennium against god again after being released)(Jesus does not kill all flesh during Armageddon, they continue into the millennium), this(the people Satan turns against Jesus after he is released from 1,000 years in hell) is Gog and Magog, then great white throne, then new heavens and new earth. I hope that saves you some time on the book of revelation. Again i seriously think you should watch the 22 hours to go through it all in detail. the first 6-7 seals is tribulation and great tribulation, and the 7 trumpets and 7 vials are the wrath of God. Note: Satan spends 1,000 years in Hell, is released, and then after Gog and Magog, Satan is cast into the lake of fire where the beast and the false prophet are. Good luck.

Well I finally really finished it. It started good and I loved the very end but the middle was Rocky! He didn't acknowledge some crucial scripture in 1 Thessalonian and 2 Peter. It may seem to some this was the truth but how about this. In the same way Noah was lifted above the watery wrath of God so will we be lifted above the Firery wrath of God when we meet him in the air until the New Jerusalem. 1 Thessalonians 4:17 KJV Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 2 Peter 3:7,10 KJV But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. [10] But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Revelation 21:10 KJV And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

@Justified By Faith Alone 6 seals, then sun and moon go dark, (THEN THE RAPTURE), then seal 7, then 7 trumpets and 7 vials(bowls). Then the kingdoms of this world become the kingdoms of god, then judgement seat of Christ for rewards, then 1000 years millennium rein with Christ on earth, (then GOG-MAGOG), then white throne judgement(with the father) with the lake of fire, then new heavens and new earth. There is no secret rapture your church is lying to you. It is post trib, pre wrath. The tribulation is the first 6 seals, the wrath of god is the 7 trumpets and 7 vials. Your church lied to you and pretended the trumpets and vials are the tribulation when they are the wrath. We are gone before the wrath, but we endure the entire tribulation(3.5 years approximately)(1,335 days). ps. the final 75 days of the 1,335 days[tribulation] is referred to as the great tribulation. the abomination of desolation takes place 75 days before the 1,335 end. (this is the difference between the tribulation[during 1-1,335] and the great tribulation[during 1,260-1,335 days]).

I am grateful to say that I am a born again Christian and have been since I was 19.......folks these days are getting darker and Christ is coming soon and if you don’t know Christ as your savior then it burdens my soul to think that you are headed for a terrible place called Hell where the Bible says the fire is never quenched and the worm dies not! it is not me but the Holy Spirit that I pray reveals to you the truth of his precious gospel......John 3:16 says for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes on him will not perish but have everlasting life! V 17 says then V 18 says whoever believes on the son is not condemned but whoever does not believe on the son is condemned already because he has not believed on the son whom God has sent! Also Acts 16:30-31 what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house I am not threatening anyone but just warning them what will happen if they reject this precious gift of eternal life! Christ died a horrible criminals death! He was beaten brutally mocked spit upon and endured countless hours of torture pain for all of our sins! Ppl go to hell because they reject that pardon for their sins! And Jesus is saying to them in Matthew 25:41 depart from me you cursed into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels! Hell was only prepared for Satan and his angels! It is not God who threatens anyone it is the craziness of rejecting the free pardon of salvation! It’s like if you’re in court you’ve committed a crime say you murdered someone! Now if you say to that Judge hey I know I’ve done a terrible thing of murdering that person but I hear you’re a good judge and so I know you’ll be fair to me...... the judge is going to reply well yes you’re right about one thing I am a good judge and because I’m a good judge I’m going to see to it that you’re punished and that justice is served! Well then all of a sudden someone you don’t even know comes forward and says you know what I know he’s committed the crime he’s committed and he deserves to go to jail but I really don’t want to see him go to prison so I’ll just go to prison for him so he can go free! So if you accepted that offer you’d be free to leave the courtroom but if you didn’t well you’d be crazy and go to prison yourself! Well that’s exactly how it was 2,000 years ago! He is God in human flesh and he came to this earth lived a perfect sinless life and even though he knew that we had sinned and because of our sins deserved to die miserably but he said no I don’t want to see them suffer so I will go and take their punishment for them! Even though he did absolutely nothing wrong still he chose to take the punishment for our sins so we can be set free from the power bondages and consequences of our disobedience to God! Romans 5:8 says For God commends his love toward us that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us! 1 John 2:2 says he was made to be the propitiation for our sins! And not just for our sins but the sins of the whole world! 2 Corinthians 5:21 He who knew no sin became Sin for us that we would be made his righteousness! The truth is if you had to get to Heaven by your own effort then you cannot do it! Because Romans 3:10 says there is not one that does good! No Not One! Romans 3:23 says For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God! Romans 6:23 says For the wages of sin is death! But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our lord! But the good news is Romans 10:9 If we confess with our mouth and believes in our hearts that Christ died for our sins then was raised from the dead we will be saved! V 10 For it’s with the heart we believe and it’s with the mouth confession is made unto salvation! God gave us 10 commandments to follow and we’ve broken every one of them! And because God is a good God he cannot allow our disobedience to him to go unpunished! Well then like I just mentioned above his son Jesus stepped forward and said no I don’t want to see them punished so I will take their punishment for them! And also like I said he died a terrible substitute criminal’s death for us on a cross so now all we have to do is accept that payment for our sins and we can escape the terrible wrath of God that is to fall on them who do not accept this atonement that was sacrificed for our sins! Praise the lord Romans 10:13 says Whoever calls on the name of the lord shall be saved! And 1 Peter 1:4 you’re an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you! Christ clearly said in John 14:6 I am the way the truth and the life and no one comes to the father but through me! Acts 4:12 clearly states that there is no other name given unto Heaven or earth by which we must be saved as there is salvation in no other! Jesus clearly states that there is clearly only one way to Salvation and it’s him that’s it! There is no other way! God Bless everyone who reads!

You are correct about the pre Trib rapture not being referred to by the 2 in the field and 1 taken, but this does not disprove dispensationalism. At the rapture Christ comes from heaven to the clouds only (not to the earth) to take the good from among the bad (John. 5:28-29; John. 14:1-3; Lk. 21:34-36; 1 Cor. 15:23,51-54; Phil. 3:21; Col. 3:4; 1 Thess. 4:16-18; Jas. 5:7-8), while at the second advent-years later-He comes to the earth with His raptured saints to take the bad from among the good (Mt. 13:30,39-43,49-50;Mt 24:29-31,37-42; Jude 14-15; Ezek. 38- Ezek. 39; Zech. 14; Rev. 19:11-21).

However, I'm trying to figure out your stance on the great tribulation and the millennial kingdom (verses like in Revelation 20 and in Isaiah 65:20)? Could you do a video on the millennial kingdom prophecied in Revelation 20? Your teaching seems to dismiss this 1000 year rule of Christ on earth as well as dismiss Satan as being the current ruler of the earth (John 14:30 and 16:11, Ephesians 6:12, 1 Peter 5:8-10, Matthew 4:8-9, 1 John 5:18-19). I think it's more dangerous to believe in a pre-trib rapture than it is important to figure out who is 'left', 'swept', 'taken', etc....we will be here for tribulation but will not be here for God's Wrath. It's not a salvation issue but imagine those trusting in a pre-trib rapture having to go through tribulation.

Kman all my life I was taught about the rapture. Now people are teaching and believing there will be no rapture. I really need to dig deep. Because the bible does warn of false prophets and false teachings. Could it be a possibility that this could be a false teaching? I'm just getting back to going to church and getting back to the bible. And I am extremely confused about this. Because I was taught about the rapture since I was a child. Every church I went to taught this.

The only way to know for sure is to study the whole bible for yourself, checking the context of each book and chapter and the connection of all the books together. People will present half truths that are very convincing but we must look at the big picture of scripture. For example, the fact that the unrighteous were swept away in Noah's day does not mean that the unrighteous are raptured away in the end times. The imagery of the Noah account was to show that Noah and his family were preserved from destruction, exactly what the rapture does for believers in the end times. Also reference the parable of the 10 virgins. The 5 righteous virgins who were prepared, were taken and the 5 unrighteous virgins who were unprepared were left behind. You have to check all the areas of scripture. All of 2 Thessalonians for example. Look at the chronology of the coming of the lawless one. Who is the restrainer who holds back the coming of the lawless one. I believe that it is the Holy Spirit indwelling believers on earth that restrain the lawless one from being revealed and the day of the Lord can't come until he is revealed. So, to me it makes sense that when believers are raptured out, the presence of the Holy Spirit is effectively gone from the earth in a sense of witnessing to the world in this "time of the gentiles". Once the restrainer is removed (the Holy Spirit) then the lawless one (the antichrist) can be revealed. Some debate whether the restrainer is the Holy Spirit or not but I believe it makes sense that the restrainer is at least in large part, the spirit of God that indwells us believers. God's many blessings!

Jewish custom is two state matters of importance three times... Here's a short answer... Mat 24:40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Mat 24:41 Two women will be grinding with at the mill, one will be taken and the other left. Mat 25:2 Five of them [the virgins] were foolish and five were wise. Jesus used the 50/50 ratio three times to make a point. Each person has to make a choice. We can either choose to follow God or follow after the world. It's a choice every individual has to make. hope this helps. God Bless.

I listened to this whole sermon out of respect, but I couldn't disagree with you more. You're taking several passages out of context and ignoring others, such as the doctrine of the Rapture in Thessalonians. A proper view of dispensationalism (which by your explanation you didn't have) is a motivation to share the gospel, not reason to ignore it.

The historic understanding of the Rapture is the Second Coming at the end of the age, not a secret rapture.
@scottb4509

there are literally two passages that can clear up this entire argument the first is in Matthew 24:21-30 when it says that first there will be many people who claim that Christ is coming or has already come to get His people, and that those who wish to be "His people" will go to the desert or the secret chambers to meet Him there. it also says that these are false teachings and that we should not listen to them. it then goes on to describe the great tribulation and that it will come after these false teachings, but that at the time of the tribulation don't be deceived by those who claim that Christ has come already. Then also in your "rapture doctrine" in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 it says those that are alive at the end days won't see Christ till after the tribulation, when He comes again with those who have died believing in Christ, which will be the official 2nd coming of the Lord, as well as the beginning of the millennial reign of Christ. Matthew 24:29-30 says it the simplest and in the fewest words... "Immediately after the tribulation....then shall appear the sign of the Son of man, and they shall see the Son of man coming..." putting just those two references together it should be plain to see and understand that those who are still alive will not see Christ till after He comes with those who have died believing in Him, marking the beginning of the millennium, which won't be until after the tribulation. So it says clearly don't be deceived if anyone tells you that Christ will come before the tribulation, because it won't happen. I'm afraid this pre-tribulation-rapture idea is quickly becoming a wide spread tradition for Christians and when it doesn't happen or when they aren't raptured and saved before the tribulation there will be millions who will lose faith in Christ all because they believed in a false prophecy. this exact same thing happened during the ministry of Christ, when the tradition was that Christ would come and overthrow the Roman government. when that didn't happen there were many who fell away including some of those who were the most faithful to Christ at the time. history will repeat itself and many souls will be lost due to a pious belief in false prophecies, which they have been warned will not come to pass yet they believe them anyway. Revelation 1:7 even states that when Christ comes every eye shall see Him coming in the clouds. these all say plainly that it won't happen in secret and that the next time Christ comes everyone will know about it, and that He won't be coming until after the tribulation.

I love Pastor Jeff, and I've seen a lot of his videos, and I agree with a lot of what he says in the sermon. But when it comes to Noah, I've always seen it as God warned Noah of a coming flood and told him to build the ark. Noah, while building the ark, warned the people of the coming judgment, but they all laughed at him. When the time came, Noah and his family were taken up above the waters while everyone else was left behind to face judgment as God wiped out the earth. As the waters receded, Noah and his family came down to the new earth that was left for them as an inheritance. So when Christ says, one will be taken and the other left, I think of how Noah and his family were rescued by God and how everyone else was left on the surface to face God's judgment. And after God judges the earth, this time with fire, we will inherent the new earth. Whether he takes us up into the air or into heaven, we won't face the judgment of the earth, just as Noah was taken up in a boat to be rescued from God's judgment on the earth. Let me know if that makes sense or I'm way off

Jeff, if you read this, I would love to ask some key questions for clarification. If anyone KNOWS, what is this saying? Is this 'kingdom theology' or 'dominionism'??? What is he really saying? Is he properly saying that we shouldn't worry about WHEN the end comes or HOW but rather just keep living and preaching GOD and HIS GOSPEL alone.... OR Is he preaching KINGDOM theology that we takeover areas of stuff and we ultimately inherit THIS earth and ...uh....who knows...(there's so many weird things). Yes. Matthew 13 24Jesus told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. 25But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. 26When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared. 27“The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’ 28“ ‘An enemy did this,’ he replied. “The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’ 29“ ‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. 30Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’ ..." 36...His disciples came to him and said, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field.” 37He answered, “The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man. 38The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the people of the kingdom. The weeds are the people of the evil one,39and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels. 40“As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age. 41The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. 42They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 43Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear."

Those who do not believe in the pre-trib rapture can't believe in the doctrine of salvation by grace through faith and faith alone. Why? Because they look forward to rejecting the mark of the beast and enduring to the end in order to receive salvation. Look folks, for the last 2000 years people are saved by grace through faith alone.....so why would the last generation of believers have this additional condition(reject the mark and endure to the end) in order to be saved? You cannot claim to be a saved Christian if you are waiting to reject the mark of the beast later in order to be saved. The only people who will face having to reject the mark of the beast are those who are left behind after the rapture. The above is an IRON CLAD guarantee that there will be a pre-trib rapture otherwise the gospel message is a complete lie. "The apostasia" rendered as "the falling away" is an incorrect translation that was started by KJV translators. The first SEVEN English translations rendered apostasia as DEPARTURE. Nothing in 1 Thessalonians or 2 Thessalonians indicates a falling from the faith or any rebellion against the faith. The fact is, there has always been people falling away from the faith or rebelling against God and His followers. The context of 2 Thessalonians 2:3 is found in 2 Thessalonians 2:1, *Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him* The context also relates back to 1 Thessalonians 4:17 where Paul says: *After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever* Shortly after Paul wrote 1 Thessalonians the Thessalonian believers had been duped into believing the resurrection of the dead in Christ and the catching up of the living saints(rapture) had already taken place. Paul sends them 2 Thessalonians to straighten them out and assure them the rapture has not taken place. THAT IS THE CONTEXT OF 2 THESSALONIANS 2:1-7 That's why the "DEPARTURE" is the correct translation. It's a direct reference to the rapture event Paul described in 1 Thess. 4:17. The use of a definite article makes "the apostasia" a distinct event. "The Apostasia" is "The rapture". It happens quickly, "in a moment or twinkling of an eye". It is not a falling away of people from the faith. The NIV also got this WRONG by translating apostasia as rebellion. The context speaks of no rebellion or falling away from the faith that takes place "in a moment, in the twinking of an eye" which is the wording Paul used to describe how quickly the rapture takes place in (I Cor. 15:51-52). People falling away from the faith is a much slower process and therefore cannot fit into the context of 1 and 2 Thessalonians, let alone into the one verse at 2 Thessalonians 2:3. The next step after the apostasia (the rapture) is the man of lawlessness is revealed. *Don't you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things? And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way*. 2 Thessalonians 2: 5-7 The Body of believers indwelt by the spirit of God and His Son.....that's what is holding the man of lawlessness from being reveled. The church is taken out of the way and then the man of lawlessness is revealed. The Apostasia in 2 Thess. 2:3 is the church being taken out of the way.....the Rapture. That is the ONLY possible interpretation without destroying the whole context of 1 and 2 Thess.

I have never heard of anyone who claims to "look forward to rejecting the mark of the beast and enduring to the end in order to receive salvation." It is always by faith or works. It's a nice straw man and you defeat it quite handily. However, I think your IRON CLAD guarantee rusted. As for "the apostasia", "falling away" is a good translation. The other place it is used is Acts 21:21 where it is translated as "turn away" or "forsake": "They have been informed that you teach all the Jews who live among the Gentiles to turn away from Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children or live according to our customs." I believe the Septuagint uses the word in Joshua 22:22 and it is translated as "rebellion". Let as assume for the moment that "apostasia" means "departure". Departure from what? It doesn't say earth. It could just as well be departure from the faith since that is the way it is used everywhere else. You say that the body of believers is indwelt by the Holy Spirit and that when the church is raptured, the Holy Spirit will be taken with it. That is patently ridiculous. The Holy Spirit was active during the creation, it was active during Old Testament times. It is not bound in the church so that it is removed with the church. If it was, does that mean that the tribulation saints do not have access to the Holy Spirit? Next, the Thessalonians were not being duped into believing the resurrection of the dead in Christ and the catching up of the living saints had already taken place. They thought the Day of the Lord had come that is the Tribulation. Paul assures them it had not and gives two reasons: the falling away and the coming of the Anti-Christ had not happened. If they were not to be on earth during the Tribulation he would have told them. II Thessalonians clearly disproves the pre-tribulation view.

*willamze* Not so fast there slick. You responded the same way on one of my other comments and you ignored my response to you. I don't think my Ironclad guarantee is as rusty as you think, because it is well oiled by the Holy spirit. *_As for The Meaning of "apostasia"_* The Greek noun apostasia is only used twice in the New Testament. In addition to 2 Thessalonians 2:3, it occurs in Acts 21:21(as you stated above) where, speaking of Paul, it is said, "that you are teaching all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to forsake (apostasia) Moses." The word is a Greek compound of apo " from" and istemi "stand." Thus, it has the core meaning of "away from" or "departure." The Liddell and Scott Greek Lexicon defines apostasia first as "defection, revolt;" then secondly as "departure, disappearance." Gordon Lewis explains how the verb from which the noun apostasia is derived supports the basic meaning of departure in the following: *_The verb may mean to remove spatially. There is little reason then to deny that the noun can mean such a spatial removal or departure. Since the noun is used only one other time in the New Testament of apostasy from Moses (Acts _**_21:21_**_), we can hardly conclude that its Biblical meaning is necessarily determined. The verb is used fifteen times in the New Testament. Of these fifteen, only three have anything to do with a departure from the faith (Luke 8;13; 1 Tim. 4:1; Heb _**_3:12_**_). The word is used for departing from iniquity (2 Tim. _**_2:19_**_), from ungodly men (1 Tim. 6:5), from the temple (Luke _**_2:27_**_), from the body (2 Cor. 12:8), and from persons (Acts _**_12:10_**_; Luke _**_4:13_**_)._* *_"It is with full assurance of proper exegetical study and with complete confidence in the original languages," concludes Daniel Davey, "that the word meaning of apostasia is defined as departure."_* Paul Lee Tan adds the following: *_What precisely does Paul mean when he says that "the falling away" (2:3) must come before the tribulation? The definite article "the" denotes that this will be a definite event, an event distinct from the appearance of the Man of Sin. The Greek word for "falling away", taken by itself, does not mean religious apostasy or defection. Neither does the word mean "to fall," as the Greeks have another word for that. [pipto, I fall; TDI] The best translation of the word is "to depart." The apostle Paul refers here to a definite event which he calls "the departure," and which will occur just before the start of the tribulation. This is the rapture of the church._* So the word has the core meaning of departure and it depends upon the context to determine whether it is used to mean physical departure or an abstract departure such as departure from the faith. It's a well oiled ironclad guarantee my friend....and I have much more on the translation history, use of the article, and the restrainer and departure if you are interested. *_Conclusion_* The fact that apostasia most likely has the meaning of physical departure is a clear support for pretribulationism. If this is true, (Dr. Tim LaHaye and I believe that it is), then it means that a clear prophetic sequence is laid out by Paul early in his Apostolic ministry. Paul teaches in 2 Thessalonians 2 that the rapture will occur first, before the Day of the Lord commences. It is not until after the beginning of the Day of the Lord that the Antichrist is released, resulting in the events described by him in chapter 2 of 2 Thessalonians. Believing in the Rapture is not a historically Christian view. It's new and damaging to our mission

Noah and Lot were taken out of judgement. The left behind were swept away. During the flood the wicked were not buying and selling, eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage. When fire fell from heaven the wicked in Sodom were swept away. Where are the taken taken? They are taken (paralambanó in Greek means received) to heaven. I do believe we leave our flesh behind (Luke 17:37). Note also the Son of Man does not come back to earth in Luke 17. Jesus is merciful. Maranatha!

But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. 5 For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake. 6 For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. --- 2 Corinthians 4:3-6

Here’s one more thought, many of the Old Testament prophesies have a local fulfillment and a future fulfillment, namely Isiah 7 I believe in reference to a virgin with child , so what about a fulfillment of Matthew 24 in the same manner Because I’m stuck on the apostles part of the question what is the sign of your coming, he hasn’t come back yet, and they were looking for a literal kingdom which hasn’t happened yet and it seems pretty clear in scripture that there will be a literal future kingdom. Also I don’t know if Pastor Jeff actually reads these comments, but I have the highest respect for him and Dr James White, so the fact that their eschatology may not be in agreement with mine or rather vice versa doesn’t much bother me, in fact I would probably stand with them before I’d stand with most people who call themselves ore millennial

Jesus used an eagle metaphor to teach that one will be taken and another left behind from homes and workplaces, and we find in the details that this happened before the great tribulation and that some who were taken had been dead while others were living. That is a picture of the rapture before the great tribulation. And the fact that Jesus taught this using veiled language before the Holy Spirit revealed this hidden mystery of the Rapture thru Paul using plain language is another clue that this was about the Rapture mystery because God teaches mysteries in veiled language before revealing them thru his servants in plain language.

Why does 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 say caught up with him in the air if we are on the earth. Noah wasn’t on the earth God lifted him Above the destruction he was left alive to repopulate. He says the earth will be destroyed by fire and brimstone stone and a new heaven and new earth will appear, where we will rule and reign. Just giving my opinion after listening to this video.

I appreciate and agree with most of your videos but on this one I must say out of love it is you, brother, who have it backwards. Why would God raise the dead and then have the wicked caught up with them in the air and then made incorruptible? This makes no sense and doesn't align with scripture

Ehh, it's normal. Once you believed something, now you don't. So you become a voice for the opposing side. How unbiased it can possibly be, who knows? But really. I'm part of a Presbyterian Church. I'm a premillenial dispensationalist, personally. No one cares. Absolutely, no one cares. But I'm also reformed. So, balance is key.

Sorry Jeff but this is not what the bible says. If we are left behind, how do you explain the dead in Christ rising first, then us as we meet Jesus Christ in the air????

How can he get this so wrong. Ok so the taken or swept away are the wicked just like Noah's time. So when I say Noah was swept away by the flood and everyone else was drowned so what happens with that contradiction.

I'm not bashing anyone. I feel like I'm learning more and more everyday. I just have questions. I'm just curious because I have always been taught that we will be here with Jesus during the millennial reign. So everyone believes that we will inherit the earth. I was also taught that you will be raptured though because you can't be here when he clears the wicked from the earth because it is suppose to burn or something?

Shelley Younger I have always believed the saints return with Christ at His second coming. If the bride is raptured before the tribulation, the church can return with Him after the tribulation. To rule and rein with Christ in the millennium.
