I have tmj issue, very painful while talking and eating. My tmj is swollen from outside visibly, cannot chew food, lost 15kg weight. Disc dislocation was from 2020 but had no symptoms and then in 2021, problems aggravated due to teeth grinding. Did physiotherapy in 2021, felt better the whole year. Again in 2022 things went bad after chewing a cucumber accidentally. Since then still have recurring pain and swelling in my left tmj. Did consult every maxillofacial docs in the city. Very hard time, Hopefully everything heals by grace of God. I worked as a software engineer for Google, have resigned recently due to this. Don’t know what treatment plan will benefit me, Yawning is a big problem, can’t even yawn and causes pain. Time will change and get better.

My doctors are suggesting TENS therapy after that they will make a orthodontic . May it help me ?? Please reply

Hi Doctor, i have a deep bite and facing tmj issue for about 4 years now. I have clicking in my left jaw and ringing in the left ear. After completion of orthotic treatment, stopped wearing orthotic.. is there a possibility that it can get reversed.

How much on avg is it to see a tmj specialist, just for the exam to see what the problem. I understand no insurance covers tmj treatment I just really hesitant cs of cost I have ear problems only, that it. I tried adjusting my diet, I'm not too sure of hormones but I highly doubt it effects but I do have a minor overbite and a lip incompetence and I'm just now experiencing pain again the last time I had issues with my ears was a couple of years ago. I'm using golden milk , sleep position adjust, eating and drinking antiflamatory foods and drinks, massages everything. The most I would want to do is orthodontics and massages, I just know I can't afford orthotics.

How about if you have no pain just muscle spams but you have a bad bite can braces fix your tmj issue.

I have a patient that has recently began having minor closed. She has unilateral posterior and anterior crossbite, and clicking on the TMJ. I have written her a referral to you (I’m up in Tacoma) and an orthodontist. If she decides to move forward with ortho without seeing you first, how often do you suggest I follow up with her to ensure her symptoms are not getting worse?
