One instinctively knows when something is done well. No gimmicks, no excess banter and no celebrity scandals... Just another quality show from these two.
The way Rory phrases his question about science fiction (that he remembers reading sci-fi in the Victorian period) confirms my hypothesis that he’s in fact a time traveler/possibly Dr Who.
This was great! Tim was intelligent, modest, and inspiring.... as predicted! I forever ask myself why haven't we been back to the moon as so much has advanced since the 60s.
Well, humans are going back. For good this time, to set up space stations to orbit the moon and bases on the moon. And if the UK were still part of the EU, we would be going up there... hopefully we still will be, but the chance has lowered
What a wonderful interview! An amazing guest but also such evocative questions. You guys do a fabulous job. The story about Mrs. Peake seeing an advert is the kind of detail that makes it possible to bridge from these amazing experiences to everyday life.
I look forward to reading this book. I was 8 years old when Armstrong and Aldrin walked on the moon. I hope I get to see us back on the moon in my lifetime.... At 6'3", I would have never had the chance to go myself. LOL Great interview!
Excellent but a minor gripe, if the video and audio could be released at the same time that'd be great. I'm always keen to listen to the podcast but find myself unable to wait for the video!
Please could we have ed miliband or Brian Cox the space professor even gary Oldman the actor or even Ben Kingsley isn McKellen keep up the great work love the interviews and the talks are very informative and sincere
As Rory would say "very good". I've worked on a few projects for ESA in a fairly peripheral role over the years and I can say to any young person out there that might be interested in working in the space industry, do it you'll have the most amazing career and work with the best people. It really is all it's cracked up to be. So get those A levels.
I always expected (as a teen) that there would be bases on the moon after the Apollo missions, and not watching astronauts playing golf on the lunar surface. The Right Stuff was a great film looking at the early days and why certain people were or were not picked.
Excellent interview, I had never heard of Tim Peake before this interview what an interesting and varied career he has had to date. I was amazed to hear they may actually be going back to the moon very soon. I had heard somewhere before that Neil Armstrong was a top class test pilot before he was an astronaut, I remember staying up to watch the moon landing in 1969.
Very odd that there's no full-length video of the Angela Rayner interview. Just a couple of shorts. Why do you think that was? Was someone making hostile faces at someone else?
I would propose that any wannabe Mars coloniser first do a dry run by taking a container ship full of people & stuff to Antarctica and bootstrap a colony for 5 years with no re-supply allowed. More air, more water, more sunlight, more resources, better temperatures - and I still think it would fail disastrously.
Why not ask Tim Peake questions about Tim Peake, rather than commenting on other astronauts or Elon Musk for goodness sake? If you want to find out about Elon Musk’s mind, ask Elon. It may come as a surprise but Elon and Bezos are not special.
