I’m from the downriver and I’ve eaten at burger one it’s a good burger, but they are overpriced. There are better burger places if you’re willing to go to downtown Detroit.
I agree it was a good burger but not the best. But for a gas station it was outstanding! We do have some really great burgers around the city! What places do you recommend?
Red Coat Tavern and Millers are the best burgers in Detroit. I remember when Millers was in the top 10 in the country in GQ magazine. And it was the only burger without fancy stuff like Avocado, etc on it.
I've never tried red coat but I have had Miller's but it's been a decade or more. Thanks for the recommendations and thanks for checking out the video!
I haven't been to the Southgate one yet but the one in Trenton was pretty good! Ill have to swing by there sometime and compare. Thanks for checking out the video!
I have a hard time going to burger spots. I feel like with the right beef, I can get a smash burger at home that rivals most restaurants and costs like 1/4 the price. If I am in the area it might be worth stopping for the fries though!
I feel you there. Sometimes the prices can be high for a burger. It's just a Patty and a bun. The fries were definitely worth the trip though and I don't have all the fancy cheeses and stuff to put on them at home. Thanks for checking out the video!
It was a good burger man! I've heard there's been quite a few things in that gas station. Did you ever have the Mexican food from there? Thanks for checking out the video man ❤️
When I was working in Detroit we would stop at a place called food exchange.. they had some great burgers. Maybe not best In the D but worth the drive.
The one in canton closed. Roy’s is a classic but I went there recently and it wasn’t as good as back in the day. I was kinda let down. My go to use to be, order my big squeeze w/cheese then drive across the street and get a root beer from bill’s. Drive back across the street and my burger should be done. The root beer still killer. Roy’s kinda fell off a bit.
Definitely man! Have you tried the new trolley stop? I'm going to go there and review it one day soon. It's called JP's trolley stop now and it looks like they've got some good grub.
Bubba’s is pretty solid but not top level IMO. Funny, Culver’s is better than a lot of these burger specialty restaurants. I would recommend the side track bar in Ypsilanti. To date it’s both me and my son’s favorite. Plus, their prices are reasonable and very cool historical atmosphere. Must go if you haven’t been. Fries are also very different and delicious
