l picked up this worn out left in the outdoors machine last week at a garage sale for $25 lets see what it will take to bring it back to life if we can.
Nice shop...you deserve it. Thanks for all your great vids. (yes, yes, we can all be nostalgic over the old garage, but think of all the new memories we are gonna have. Plus I was tired of bumping elbows with all you folks in the small shop.
Given time, you will not remember the home shop. It will be revisited,I'm sure! Mustie1 is still #1! Who knows what 1 will drag in from yardsales. It is only the beginning of summer and yardsales go on now for at least 4-5 months. I am happy for 1's new shop! He will bedazzle us all with new and always entertaining "brought back from the dead" projects! Happy Summer, everyone! Love that Mustie1! Thanxz
Happy for you and the new shop. Can't wait to see a different project in every corner. Shame on you folks for pouting about it. Be happy for the man. He's worked hard and earned an awesome workspace.
great job.. don't ever listen to those people who say "just get another carb", I enjoy watching you adapt or modify to get it working, as not everyone has an inventory or other carbs. It is the first time I ever saw one of those large blowers doing what they do, they would certainly be useful. Thanks !!!
Lilly stealing the show as usual. What a sweet old girl she is. A lot like the machines you work on, still life in them and just wanting a bit of attention. Keep up the good work Mustie1. I like seeing you resurrect old junk back into service. New shop is coming along nicely too. Take care.
Thank you, I learn so much when I watch your videos. I only have one regret: I wish I had a channel like this when I was a young boy. You’re inspiring new small engine mechanics by the hundreds👍
But in a few Weeks all Fans will like your new Playground.!!! Me too Sir!!! We are adult Kids....and its allways so nice to der ans learn from You..!! God bless You ans Your Peoples around!! A very big Fan from Bavaria.
Nice job, back in your element did not really notice the change in workshop. Was so engrossed in the job's progress. Very satisfactory conclusion , thank you.
Mustie, my first comment after watching your channel for over a half a decade. The reason you reached over 305K subs was from your intimate at home, wife in the house and an occasional visit from Lucy while you did your magic in the garage. That’s what made your followers believe they could repair things within their means. Please understand that we are all happy you could get this facility and have the room to spread out the hoard. But, being at home with you, the ambiance and the feel can’t be duplicated. I would have built a big pole barn at the back of your property to store your stuff while keeping the home garage as the main repair shop. It is what defined the Mustie 1 video experience.
The location change is a wierd one, you're still the same awesome @Mustie1 but it doesn't have the same feel as working out of your home garage. Hope that changes as this becomes the norm.
I think it will become the norm quickly. His content and his approach are what for are appealing in his videos. I am very glad for him. It's good to see things are going well for him and I hope he keeps to his roots with videos like his for us !
The lack of ambient sounds is so weird (no sounds of traffic, birds, neighbors, etc) - the quietness, immense space and solitude seems very strange. The new place severely lacks the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the old garage.
I think it is the lack of distant background noise (traffic going by etc) that gave it a feel in the old garage of being a busy place that was a focal point where everyone wanted to be..............the old garage had that feel I remember from the 1960s of the gas station or local mechanics shop where everyone gathered for friendship, a soda pop, and to see what the latest project was, be it the motorcycle racer, the dirt track car racer, or the guy building his pulling tractor or truck. I miss that feel but I’m sure in time it will come back to musties new shop.
That big new shop sure makes your channel look all fancy and high-dollar! When you pointed the air exhaust at us, it blew my hair all over the place. Good thing I had my safety squints on.
I miss the vibe of the old garage the new ones garage doesn't have that warm fuzzy feeling of wrenching on stuff in your own garage congrats on the new garage
Nice find and fix for 25 bucks , those are good machines . The new shop is coming along nicely , I'm looking forward to you being able to work on multiple projects with the new space . Happy hunting this weekend 👍
Loving the new shop! Lots more room to move and work and room for a bigger hoard! Thanks for letting me hang out with you bud and thank you for the tons of work the new shop took to put it together. It's also really awesome that you can bring your sweety with you to👍👍✌
The new space with all the extra room is terrific. I do miss the ambience of the old shop. I know you are moving in. Hope you can cram enough stuff into the new space to give it the right feel. Thanks
It's funny I seem to find quite a lot of random 10mm sockets at flea markets and car boot sales! Maybe that's where they all go! I have a problem with my 13mm socket going missing!
Mustie, I love the new shop and the new look of the channel. It's always great to see tubers expanding there shops as the brand grows...awsome job cant wait to see what's coming in the future👍😁
Still the best videos. I love the new shop, I have the same dream of having a place just like that. So much room. We'll all get used to it, congratulations on the next step in the journey. Can't wait to see more.
I was sort of missing the old garage and then you pulled out the magic body panel hammer (you know the one), and all was right with the world again. Great video.
Truly impressive how quickly you've acclimatized to the new garage! Congrats on keeping the intimacy (did I say that out loud?) of the your old shop vids. Greetings from the UK
Took me 25 years to get my junk drawer back up to scratch after I moved:). Glad you did the run for more parts carbs. Moving takes time; both body and spirit! Take it easy and enjoy!
Yay. New vid from the new workshop. Yes we will all miss the home garage vids. But please stop complaining about it folks and be happy for Mustie that his channel has grown so much that he has been able to move into this location. It can only get better from here on. :)
I really enjoy the videos in your new shop. Gives me hope for my future shop that’s gonna take some time to fix up and put together. Keep the videos coming, always look forward to your next fix especially in the new shop.
Excellent work on that blower Mustie, glad the idle side of it fixed itself. This is your first official will it run video in your new shop, keep up the great work!
Feels weird to bring yard sale finds back to an incredibly large shop in an industrial setting. The old garage made it feel like a guy trying to tinker and save some money. Paying for a huge shop takes away that he is one of us feeling. Still love ya Mustie but the new setting is hard to adjust.
Sure the old garage was cozy, and I get why people felt a kindred spirit with Mustie 'cause he was able to accomplish incredible things in a space maybe not so different than their own. But... Mustie was definitely being held back by the space limitations. Now, he's got an A+ shop to match his A+ talent and skills.
I get hours of enjoyment watching your new and old videos everyday, I hope to see you post more content every week as I leave for basic training in September, can't wait to get back and see the new projects you post!
Your pup looks like an old version of mine. I have a 6 month old female black lab. Thanks for the video. Not going to lie, I miss the garage. The new place has room but it is a bit sterile. I will still watch your videos though because I like you and the content. Thanks
"Sterile" is exactly the word I was looking for. It needs a little warmer ambience. Perhaps some background sounds recorded from the ol' place! That or go the other extreme; throw up some sheetrock walls with plexi windows, epoxy the floors and wear a lab coat, LOL! Will still watch anything he posts, though; Mustie videos are brain food!
i wont read the rest of the comments about musties move so i get a more "honest to myself" response. first, i am very happy mustie has been able to find and move to a place he has wanted for awhile....... good on ya mustie, but its so strange i feel "uncomfortable" watching him work now, its as if it is a different channel. i know mustie does watch comments on his channel, but im writing other subs to see if they feel the same way, i suppose we like like what we are used to, its all i can figure
Feels like Mustie has grown from a guy next door working from his garage to Cable TV 'reality show' status. Same guy though. I have a lot of respect for him and what he does, but it is like watching a different channel. Maybe once he gets the new place filled up it will look more 'normal'.
brian bergman I am happy for him, yes it’s a change and some time to get use to but I have always watched for his personality and humour, it’s still there and will continue to be there. This new space will grow to feel like the home garage in the near future I believe.
he's the same great guy, but the space needs to be modified to not look like a warehouse. easily doable, put up a wood paneled partition or two , add some not flourescent lighting.
I can can see a use there, but people use them on tiny gardens here in the UK and it seems daft burning dinosaurs just to move a rakeful of leaves from one place to another, and then still have to pick them up! 🙄
@@MattBrownbill Back where I lived we would blow the leaves out to the edge of the road, making piles up to 3ft tall and whatever long. The county would come by at regular intervals with a huge vacuum truck to suck up the leaves. What they did with them from there I have no idea.
The new shop is awesome! But honestly, it doesn’t the feel the same as hanging out and wrenching in your garage. Somehow the coziness and the fact that you have spent 1000s of hours in that garage just came thru the screen
Love the new shop and it gets all that stuff and clutter away from your home, which I'm sure makes the female factor happier!! Now you can put your drivers inside a garage!
My earlier years as a masonry instructor I did small engine repair and had one elderly lady who had one of those blower/vacs that was constantly needing attention. She had a huge lot with a lot of trees so fall meant hours of blowing with the thing. Eventually I had to get a short block (had it tore down already so this was the cheapest way to go) and didn't hear from her after putting the monster back together. You wouldn't believe how worn the bore and piston was. Slapped and sounded like a diesel especially when it was cold. Glad your blower wasn't worn that bad, Greg.
At around 40:20 you can see fuel being blown back out of the carb, if it had a stuck intake valve would that explain it not wanting to idle , then eventually clearing up as the valve seated again , hence why it ran nice at the end. Just a theory . Great video! and love the new shop
Honestly you guys complaining need to cut it out. Yes as he was setting up you could tell it was the new shop, but once he was in the thick of things it was just like the old shop only with better lighting. Since most of what he records is up close this is a nice upgrade !!!
The style of muffler is listed as an "acorn" muffler Make a sound closet for the compressor. We wont hear it on the camera. The engine got a richer mixture on idle when you put the air filter on.
I appreciate that you attempt to fix the carburetor and don't just take an easy out. People need to learn how things work in a real world situation. It must be service people who give you the thumbs down. You take their easy money work away.
Give Mustie some time to settle in and the place will get some atmosphere I believe. He's been working hard to set this up and I for one want to give him some support.
Gasoline is a good solvent for gasoline varnish in tanks and carbs. Idle circuit likely cleaned by gas in system. Good to see you back in the saddle of fixing old engines and machines. Thanks for the vid
mustie love your new shop !!! u blow my mind for am upload love please let us know when your goint too the next car show !!!! edbonjovi leak master plumbing in ct
Congrats on the new garage. I will use this fine occasion to share how much I enjoy your videos. I am grateful for the care you take to explain what you're doing/thinking. I also want to thank you for the consideration you give to your viewers with your camera work & editing. It really helps with the learning, and I have learned a lot from you...thanks man! I hope you get 10x good karma in return.
That thing is a beast! I wish I had one. You have tons riding mowers, engines, parts, supplies, a shop and TOOLS. You could make a micro "rider" or rig it such that it could be an "attachment.! Even cobble together a vacuum/leaf shredder.... That would be BADASS! The development would be a intriguing series of video's. Possibly create something REALLY COOL! One of a kind, PATENTED! Artistic and totally functional. There are so many "price--point", mass produced landscape maintenance machines that are junk. It would be cool to see something made with quality, ultra durable, lasts forever, easily operated and maintained. License the production to a few manufacturers and collect $$$$$
