Time to upgrade from a gravity wagon, in true JT style I’ll be reviving a forgotten GMC tandem with a 401 magnum v6. She’s been in the same spot since 2004 so this should be interesting.
I like the square body! Charcoal interior huh? Fck that's hard to find. I just bought an 86 GMC k1500 just for the interior. I Love the 1955-66 style 1-ton and bigger trucks. WOAH 401 V6... now that's rare nowadays!!!
@@jtsbarnngrill6873 You could be right on those TQ numbers. That's the Pros about em and also pretty bulletproof to kill. cons is not much for "Readily" available parts. Most would be NOS stuff. Reasonably priced too. GL on it and looking forward to more.
@@SchnelleKat They’re better truck engines than the latter 454 engines. As long as you don’t rev the snot out of them and add ZDDP to the oil they will outlive the body of the truck.
JT. Just watching this episode now!! Waht happened to that black beat??? Inquiring minds need to know!!! Sidebar: You need that high end creeper!! Cheers.
I grew up a farm kid, always wanted to keep at it after my father sold the farm in the 90s, so with a little hope, lotta hard work and some luck I was able to get back at it about 10 years ago. That is a mr gasket 4-7 psi electric pump
@@jtsbarnngrill6873 I remember well the 478 Toro-flo diesels that were in those rigs around that time. Uncle had a 'G' model Prentice loader mounted on the back of a tandem with a 5x3. Good old trucks. That'll make a good hauler.
I have read that a good mechanic has about the same fund of knowledge and deductive ability as a physician. As a physician, farmer, half assed metal worker and lousy mechanic I disagree. People basically come in 2 flavors, guys and gals, with a few stragglers in between, whereas the variability in old equipment that doesn’t run seems pretty much close to infinity. Don’t know how you do it, but I enjoy your challenges and your humor and might have learned enough from you to become marginally more dangerous.
