Do u think the hound will kill his brother out of pity instead of anger due to what the mountain has become? That would be a good redemption arc

There's no way his story can end here. If it does, it'll be more disappointing that waiting for WOW.

Catelyn swore she would never command anything of Brienne that would go against her honour. So she literally can’t ask Brienne to kill Jaime.

She isn’t Catelyn anymore
@ratgirl34
@ratgirl34 2 месяца назад
@@TheGreaseGoblins Maybe, but she’s still acting upon Catelyns knowledge and connections. And LSH recognizes the oaths sworn between Catelyn and Brienne and expects Brienne to hold up her end of the deal. So then LSH must likewise recognize the part of Cat’s oath that prevents her from asking Brienne to go against her honour. Otherwise she would be an oathbreaker, which is almost as bad as breaking guest right. And, if LSH is a completely separate entity to Catelyn, that would imply that neither Catelyn nor Briennes oaths are binding anymore. So Brienne is free of the oaths of obedience that she swore, but not the promise to find Sansa and keep her safe.

I think yes! Jamie still has a lot to do. I think Lady Stoneheart will give Jamie the choice of either being hanged or helping her and the Brotherhood into Riverrun so she can take revenge on the Freys in a second Red Wedding!

I hope that is another promise he breaks. He is slowly learning that about the unintended consequences on regular people of war and knightly convention can be pretty bad, and maybe is not moral really. Would you ever have seen Jamie noticing the trauma, the change, the PSTD of poor Pia of Harrenhall, before the last book? No, she would have been beneath his notice.

Og he'll definitely survive. Hopefully bri-enne realizes how bad it was to put her lot into cat and runs off with jaime since pod is in danger. Jaime still has a lot to do and is possibly the only Lannister left that can actually keep the house from crumbling apart further since Kevin is gone and cersie/Tyrion will never be able to do that.

Like killing the king to save the city, Jamie will once again be forced to chose what is more important to his honor and to serving what is Right and Good - keeping his oaths to the last letter or breaking through in some way to save lives or somehow cut short the revenge cycle....he did begin this by sending Edmure into captivity and making a truce instead of laying siege to Riverun, and forcing a peace between the Blackwoods and the Brackens.

I think Jamie is in love with what Brienne represents. She embodies everything he wanted to be as a knight when he was young. She has managed to maintain this nieve deep moral integrity despite hiw cruel people have done to her. In short she, i feel, is beginning to embody hope for him, that the true essence of what it is ment to mean to be a knight can still survive in the world they are in.

I’ve always had this idea that Brienne kills Lady Stoneheart to save Jaime. Being that Stoneheart is part of the dead and she technically isn’t Caitlin who she swore vows to.

I really think she cares about her children, I think she does confuse them with herself to some extent, BUT HER LOVE FOR THEM AND DESIRE TO PROTECT THEM is real - and it is what turns everyone into an enemy in her mind, she thinks that no one else loves them the way she does and therefore, (big leap here, but she's a crazy lady) that means everyone else is against her kids and out to kill them, when only some are.
@tpnv8698

I think the Lady Stoneheart plot is more connected to Brienne's development than Jaime's. She might be forced to make a similar decision as Jaime and to forsake her vow to Catelyn in order to do the right thing. This would bring them closer and it might turn romantic from there on.
@keturahspencer

I don't want Jaime to end with Cersei, he needs to fight the others with Brienne by his side. Also, Jaime imagines Brienne wearing Cersei's clothes in the second paragraph of his first chapter. I feel like that was George telling us something. He hides an eretion in the tub. He dreams of her naked. He's always noting how blue her eyes are. I don't know where they are going, but I definitely think he has romantic feelings about Brienne.
@dropelaves

I like your theory, I've never put those things together like that. It definitely seems like falling in love. Let's hope he goes through with it in the books, or at the very least doesn't run back to Cersei. Everything but Cersei, lol.
@keturahspencer
@keturahspencer 2 месяца назад
@@dropelaves yeah, the running back to Cersei was the worst. 😂 Jaime burning Cersei's letter is one of if not the most satisfying thing in all of ASOIF. Also, the actors had fantastic chemistry, nothing felt forced in the show, and that scene between Brienne and Cersei never happened in the books. Brienne in love with Jaime but not the other way around is absurd considering every chapter with both characters is from Jaime's POV.

I really dislike it that so many people claim that Lady Stoneheart "isn't Catelyn" any more. She wasn't corrupted by her anything supernatural. She was corrupted by having everything that matters to her destroyed, and then she was given the ability to act on that. If she had been taken prisoner and freed after seeing her last son butchered before her eyes, I think she would have done much the same.

I toy with the theory of Hound Ex Maccina: The guy tasked with hanging Pod will be Lem Lemoncloak who took the Hound's Helmet. It is indicated that Sandor having both: Giantblood and frst-Men blood, was warging both: Septon Meribald's dog as well as Littlefingers old Huntingdog in the Little Fingers, where he saw (and kissed) Sansa in Dogshape, Sansa being a warg, too, 'recognized' him in half-sleep. And he knows Brienne is trying to keep Sansa safe and he also saw that Shadrich and Mouser are sinister characters who are moving towards Sansa. I think he's going to fetch Brienne from the Brotherhood for helping him to save Sansa, and just as in the show might hang Lem. If he arrives first or after Brienne and Jaime at the brotherhood depends on the fastness of Stranger. But since Brienne has been sick for about a week, and then went to Stoneheart and to find Jaime he might already have saved arrived and saved Pod, reclaiming the Helmet. Or Lem could be rounded up by the new garrison of Harrenhall, that is led by the religious Knight that was the former admirer of Queen Rhaella, and who will recognize him as Rhaegars Squire, and thinking he commited the crimes of Rorgue in Saltpans will most likely hang him, just as (was it Thoros?) prophecied, the Hound travelling as a 'Monk' might be wellcomed with the religious knights, and do what he did in the show: taking back his helmets and his boots, the four might go downriver to find Sansa for Lady Stoneheart, and come as suprise-guests to Littlerobins Tourney. I expect they will not be able to save Sansa from abduction, but follow her to King's Landing with the next ship. Jaime might need to kill Cersei to save Sansa, who might be one of fAegons two queens.

I think Jamie is disgusted with his sister and a relationship based on physical gratification - he thought it was more, wanted to matter more than power to Cersie... I think he is ready for a relationship based on platonic love of a comrade who shares his ideas - Brienne, who has also had any expectations she had of a relationship with a man crushed repeatedly.. _They will be the best of best friends._

I will be disappointed if The Hound and The Mountain face off. It would ruin The Hound's redemption arc, and face it, the Mountain is no longer his brother, just an animated version of parts of his old body. I think the head he has now belonged to a dwarf brought to Cersei. The Mountain is no longer human, he probably is way past remembering he had a brother, that part of him is dead, only the shell of his body sort of lives. The only way I see Sandor fighting the Mountain is to save Sansa or Arya or some other innocent from being killed by a zombie, not out of revenge. I thought Clegane Bowl was stupid, time wasted on normie fan service that should have been spent giving us a coherent ending to the story.

I don't think it would be stupid, it would be just a human thing for the Hound never to get over his trauma and hate. It would be too perfect for George to have him become this transformed, monk like warrior or a peaceful guy, who forgave Gregor or just had an epiphany how toxic is to be so hateful. I can see him never getting over that and self-destructing in the end. Jaime as well, just like people who use heavy *substances* and can't stop themselves even though they lose everything including their health. Hate and love are chemically addictive as well. Would I like that for S or J. no way, but humans gonna human.

no hate to anyone thinking that brienne and jaime's relationship is only platonic but i think that is largely bc of how theyre described in the books. Brienne is an ugly woman very clearly recognized by her ugliness, while Jaime is one of the most desirable men in Westeros. Imo, a lot of people miss the obvious signs of romance because of this unwillingness to believe Jaime might be attracted to her despite her appearance.. ive always seen them as romantic bc the tropes are all there.. beauty and the beast (famousy loved by grrm), everytime they fight is written as a sex scene, jaime constantly going on about her eyes, his thoughts wandering to her the second people talk about babies close to him.. him giving her a mare that he says "is as ugly as she is" but later in her POV brienne describes the mare as a beautiful animal.. not even mentioning brienne dreaming of him fastening a cloak on her shoulders in reference to Westerosi marriage traditions! i think brienne and jaime will 100% be a thing, even if one/both of them dies at the end. I mean, their romance in the show was so weird that u can explain it away by grrm presenting it as a bullet point D&D had to follow but didnt want to, hence the oddness of the scenes. Tbh my point is that this whole thing of paying more attention to Brienne's appearance is annoying to me, especially bc the trope of "beautiful woman falls in love with ugly man" is soo common in media and widely regarded as extremely cute and romantic, why cant it be treated as such when the roles are reversed! the man got hard at the sight of her naked for God's sake 😭😭

Jamie losing his arm is about his physicality. If Cersei lost a foot nobody would know because she would hide it. Kind of ties into Jamies useless golden hand. He thinks its useless because he cannot attack or defend himself in combat. The rest of the Westeros's nobility see it as a way to maintain a presence and to show off wealth. Cersei will never have the realization Jamie had because it would have to be her tongue that she loses. Even then i believe she would be of less use than mute Ser Payne

This is the summation of Jamie's whole arc. His heart in conflict. They make you swear and swear. This is what is going to tear Jamie apart and probably bring him full circle into the cynical a-hole he was when he pushed Bran out of the window. Cercei is a malignant narcissist who is incapable of caring about anyone except when it affects her. This goes for Jamie and her children. Pushing a seven-year-old out of a tower window is a pretty bad thing, right? I agree on Jamie and Brienne being good friends but not romantic. Neither Jamie or Brienne is fit to fight at this point. Don't forget that Brienne has a broken arm. She is not at her best.

If Stoneheart kept Oathkeeper when she let Brienne lure Jaime out, then Jaime went along knowing it's a trap. Brienne will execute Jaime There will be no trial by combat, Cersei and Jaime will be on trial simultaneously, one or both will die guilty

No offense, but you really should reread A Storm of Swords again. In the bath Jamie got aroused seeing Brienne naked, and he said that only happened with Cersei no other woman. When we went back to save her from the bear pit when she asked why, he thought of a bunch of insults but only said I dreamt of you. Sounds pretty much outside the friend zone to me.

I honestly think that Brienne will kill LS, not Arya. Thematically, with where they are in their stories, it just makes more sense to me. LS is setting up to do something horrific (come on, not everyone at that wedding was involved in the Red Wedding, let's be honest here) just like Aerys was. Brienne had sworn oaths to Catelyn, just like Jaime to Aerys. And in the end, Brienne will be put in the same situation Jaime was during the Sack of King's Landing. And especially since she's heard Jaime's version of events, and after everything she's gone through... she'll make the same decision. I was a big fan of either Arya taking out Stoneheart or Stoneheart reviving Jon, but due to both timing and the setup (Jon's already dead at the Wall and Arya isn't done in Braavos yet, and either way a lot of travelling would need to happen to make either theory work and I don't know if there's *time* to do it well anymore)... I think it's gonna be Brienne. This could dovetail nicely, if the Jeyne being pregnant theory is true (since we know she's in the Prologue)... Brienne and Jaime getting tasked with protecting a Stark child, so in the end still upholding some of their oaths. Just the *important* ones; that being to protect the children.

...The Hound killed Mycah, not Jaime
@ashleyofnaath
@ashleyofnaath 2 месяца назад
@@WestlawnFilms Nah. All we saw, ie Ned, was the Hound bringing Mycah's body back. Nobody actually saw the Hound kill the boy. What's also important here is that we see the Hound bring the body back through Ned's eyes, because we know from his other POVs that he's inclined to think the worst of the Hound (most of which is because of the Mountain's reputation rather than the Hound's, btw). So really all we have is an assumption from a biased source. Further, if we look at the Hound's actions through the story, he doesn't kill children; he saves them (Loras, Arya, Sansa to name a few). This protective instinct likely stems from his inability to protect his younger sister from the Mountain when they were kids and the sister disappeared under mysterious circumstances. Also, consider that the Hound himself was savaged as a child and still carries deep trauma/resentments from his attack. I find it highly unlikely that the Hound would then turn around and savage a child himself. If he did anything, he gave Mycah the gift of mercy because Jaime attacked the boy, left him for dead, and told the Hound to "fetch". Likely knowing of course that the Hound would be blamed were he seen carrying the body back to camp based off his by-proxy sinister reputation. And as to Jaime's motive- well, Cersei wanted blood to answer for the attack on Joffrey; and per Jaime's own admission had he found Arya he would've killed her to placate Cersei. However, he failed to find Arya first, which left him with a problem- an unsatisfied Cersei. So to please her, he killed Mycah (the other child involved in the incident).
