It's impossible to say what Megumi will come out the other side (if he comes out at all) because he lost just about everything and specifically his sole reason for the majority of his Jujutsu decisions (his sister) while having the strongest character in the series literally bathe his soul in evil and say things like "the scar I carve into his soul will be all the deeper". Like I think the bum meme is funny, but some people are again taking it too seriously and not empathizing with Megumi when Sukuna put in significant effort in putting him down. He could return completely insane, with a warped view of the world similar to Geto, or simply shift his "I've had enough" to "I've had enough of you, Sukuna". Whatever happens, I think people expecting Megumi to have done something different are not really registering his situation.

I still believe that Megumi has a big role to play. And Gogo telling Geto in the afterlife that he asked Shoko to tell Megumi about his dad tells me how much he cares for Megumi 😢 and it also tells me that Megumi will come back.

YES headcannon since january when i caught up on the manga. everything ever since has been only confirmed that fact. I wouldn't say that Yuji ends up as Sukuna but Megumi is 100% set up narratively to fulfill the duty of big bad. Gege consistently subverts expectations and IF Megumi is saved there is no way that this is a happy go lucky ending. MAYBE Megumi turns good in the fight against the merger but there's many signs that Sukuna is a big finale fight but that there is more ahead. I truly feel like the next couple of chapters will show much more on what will happen. But editor notes that the "Sukuna arc" is almost over and that there is close to half a year left in when Gege himself marked the year in which JJK will end. I really feel like Yuji's manifestation of a domain expansion will foreshadow much of what happens after in addition to the fact that Yuji "awakened" then "understood" Choso's instinctual use of both blood manipulation and RCT being used.

Honestly, I disagree with the argument that the sorcerers are holding back to save Megumi. Yes there were several instances where the plan was to defeat Sukuna and save Megumi like Judgeman's punishment and Yuji hitting the barriers of their souls, but that was also the most effective strategy to defeat Sukuna at that point.

Mechamaru had a simple domain capsule so maybe he can put a domain expansion in one. I personally don’t think so mainly because people by themselves control what happens in a domain expansion unless if it’s possible to make it automatic

With the channeling of a domain, I think that if someone repeatedly used a certain area to act as the structure behind an incomplete domain expansion in lue of a barrier like Megumi, that area could possibly be scarred to take on characteristics of that domain

Thoes who are saying megumi can't survive after tanking 5 infinite voids, don't underestimate him, he was the one in million chance potential man to take freaking 15 finger sukuna in one go, still able to reduce sukuna's curse technique output pretty lower unlike yuji who had no control over sukuna after jogo fed him in Shibuya.Megumi was able to talk when yuji approached him in soul realm, so he seemed broken but alright, he has strenght and now that yuji hit those blakflashes marathon, there's hell of chance now he could be saved.

It's certain that the merger has to happen, because even if Sukuna is defeated the story is still left in a place where it can't end - meaning Curses still would exist and in that situation there just wouldn't be any progress to the story from the moment where it started and the merger seems like a perfect excuse for something to happen that would get rid of Curses from the world, similiarly to how things went in Attack on Titan (the fact that merger was even portrayed as something similiar to Founding Titan could be a hint as well)

Yuji is literally from the same blood line as sukana which makes sense as to why he’s able to contain sukana better than anyone he is LITERALLY SUKANAS VESSEL!!! MEGUMI IS NOT!! Why didn’t sukuna use furnace vs gojo? 1st domain clash, sukuna won and was penetrating limitless with dismantle. Could he not have connected with furnace in that moment and ended the fight?

- We know that the Merger will inevitably happen - If the Merger happens, the entire Japanese population dies, which would make any victory meaningless - All participants in the Game have to die for the conditions of the Merger to occur, but I doubt that this will happen for obvious reasons - Sukuna has been shown as a master of Binding Vows this entire arc. *Conclusion:* I think Sukuna will do a Binding Vow at the last second so that the Merger happens without any conditions, but in return the Merger will be much weaker than anticipated and will only absorb a small population of people instead of the entire country which wil make possible for the Anti-Sukuna Squad to beat it.
