Never saw swerve as a transitional champion to Opsreay. Honestly, I didn’t think Swerve would lose at Forbidden Door.

Will Ospreay is gonna be gold for AEW because he can actually see the vision. He sees just how dang popular Swerve Strickland is so there’s no point in ruining his momentum.

Makes sense because you're building more stars this way. Will gets it. Swerve deserves to have more opportunities to prove how good he is. Besides, AEW gave Joe a little bit of run. Swerve can go longer. Khan is getting his money's worth and Swerve is finally getting the chance to shine properly.

Your Ospreay title/headline is extremely misleading. Do better guys.

One of the reasons why Dominik is such a great heel. He may not be his father as a wrestler yet but he knows through the use of body language and facial expressions how to feed that heat. Most people know he is happily married but despite kayfabe being dead I see people all over the place who are 100% invested in the Rhea, Liv, Dom storyline and a big part of that still working is Dom's bratty actions and reactions.

This reminds me of 2008 when WWE had a poll "Who's the bigger star?" Between Batista and Cena before their Summerslam match. Batista got like 17% of the vote then went over clean.

Having Swerve Strickland retain the AEW World Championship was the right call. I don't know why some people hate on Strickland. That guy is an amazing wrestler and he proved it once again in this banger of a match with Will Ospreay.

In terms have things that make me want to "jump the barricade". I was at a UK indie last year and there was a but of an inter gender spot where the lass got thrown out hard onto the floor over the top. She looked like she fell hard. No ringside mats and no barrier, I had to check myself as my natural instinct was to jump out of my chair and check on her. Those split seconds when you get drawn in and you get a reaction are one of the most engaging parts of the show. If the performers can elicit an emotion from the crowd, then they've done their job well.

Actual heat is tough bc scorched earth true heat in 2024 is borderline “go away” “xpac” heat. For example, Jericho has the most heel heat in aew but only half the fans. Christian cage is the most consistent heel but his heel work is so good; 25% of the fans want to see him. Heels rarely can get that heat with a world where the fans appreciate the characters. Dominik gets that kind of heat bc of what he’s done but also not being a keen worker does get the fans to hate him. It’s a tough deal and a fine line to play for sure. Jeff Jarrett is the only one in aew imo who has true heel heat and works perfectly within traditional wrestling heel roles.

Don't think Will Ospreay later down the line is the right person to take the belt from swerve. I just didn't feel like forbidden door with the right time. My reasoning for that is that exactly what they were saying it would feel like he's a transitional champ. At the same time, I was worried they make will ospreay look weaker than swear, but they didn't they made each other look good!

THAT is the biggest draw back for me with AEW... booking is like Chess - you dont start out with a board of Queens... you need to use your bishops, knights, and especially pawns wisely, move them strategically across the board and MAKE them work horses and turn your pawns into Queens... Tony has no rhyme or reason, they just book without history, heat, story, or even desire.... it makes all these high profile matches blah - your box of matches feels EXACTLY what Tony does...

When it comes to the AEW Heavyweight Championship, Swerve was/is deserving of the belt but his run just hasn't had the grit that led up to him winning. He needs that back and I feel that he and Hangman put on one of the best programs since Punk/MJF. So... book Swerve/Hangman - Hangman's Revenge.. have Swerve drop the belt to Hangman and then have Hangman/Ospreay feud (with Swerve costing him the title) leading to an Ospreay/MJF feud.
