With 3 SBs, I take him over Brady as GOAT as a Chiefs fan. If he lost this SB (like if he didn't convert 4th and 1), Brady would be my GOAT still but now he has proven time and time again he has Brady's clutchness. With 4 SBs, the overall public will consider him GOAT if he achieves a first ever NFL 3-peat. If he doesn't get the 3-peat, and gets his 4th later, I think most people still take Brady's 7 SBs over Mahomes. With 5 SBs, now its 50/50 and that would be the best for sport. Endless debate such as Jordan vs Lebron all over again. Ring count doesn't matter when we talk Michael Jordan vs Bill Russell or Big Shot Rob. You have to consider the hardware he has, the eye sight test, and the stats and Mahomes would enter GOAT status alongside Brady, you just have the option of who you want.

I 100% agree on Shanahan kicking the field goal in OT. I was baffled at the decision. You're going to let Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes have a chance at a game-winning touchdown? Especially when you don't trust your defensive coordinator? It was a total gaffe by Shanahan. The story of the game wasn't the players claiming they didn't understand the OT rules, or the Niners electing to receive, it was Shanahan's decision to kick the FG, and it got missed by everyone.
I agree. If he either 3peats (Montana got close but ultimately fell short) or goes undefeated (Brady close but no cigar) I think that cements him as the goat in my eyes. Obviously a lot of ways to get there, but either means a 4th ring and doing something that the two previous GOATs couldn’t. Outside of those I think he needs at least a 5th rings to catch Brady.

He did it with every type of team imaginable. Until he doesn’t make it to atleast the championship game, it makes no sense to say 7 is crazy for him. #1 receiver was a 2nd round rookie and last year it was Juju smith schuster 😂 the man is different beyond different. If Andy can start taking his health serious and loses a ton of weight, he can be there for a lot longer, but that’s gonna be key

If he plays as long as Brady it’s reachable. He’s in his 6th year as a starter. That means he just needs to play 16 more years and win 1 every 4. It sounds insane to even type but with rules that protect the quarterback more and that chiefs were a few plays away from six appearances. Reid seems like he will coach another 5 plus years and they have a good front office.

It won’t take 7 for Mahomes to be considered the GOAT at the end of his career. If he says healthy and consistently puts up the numbers he has already. He’s a better QB - he needs some luck like Brady had too.
Mahomes is the ONLY QB that has shown he is CLEARLY worth every penny. These other teams throwing that amount at their guys is absolutely insane 😂 because they had ONE great year? Maybe two? The fact that the standard and the expected rate is what mahomes gets, is gonna make it tough for other teams to compete and keep their stars while paying a guy mahomes level money without mahomes level talent
I don't think 10 titles is off the table for Mahomes. I honestly feel like we have no idea what's coming. We haven't seen his best yet and we still have 5-6 years of his absolute peak. Is everyone just forgetting that his FLOOR so far is an overtime loss in the AFCCG. That's the worst he's ever done. Also Hardman definitely knew he won the game. He said he blacked out when he caught the pass because he KNEW what he just did and was overwhelmed. The Chiefs all knew exactly what was going on. Chris Jones even laid it out explicitly after the game that they had multiple meetings and a full game plan for overtime including kicking off first and going for 2 and the win if the 49ers scored a touchdown first. This was specifically a 49ers "attention to detail" thing and is part of what Kyle needs to clean up if he's going to get over the hump.

@@BenArctic Well, you see, everyone gets older. Athletes age very quickly due to the damage on the body. When you rely on your physicality the makeup of your body matters. As you get older recovery from exertion and injuries takes longer. Even more so if your body is not optimized. So, in order to play to an old age as a physical QB, you need to maximize your body’s performance and minimize those conditions that age you faster. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

No because the argument will be made that Mahomes had more of an impact in his wins compared to Brady. One example of this is the fact that in Brady’s first SB win, he threw for 1TD and 1 Int in the whole postseason run compared to Mahomes who threw for 10 TDs in his first SB playoff run. Or the fact that Brady scored just 13 points in 2 SBs and won both. I’m not saying Brady didn’t have great playoff runs, he absolutely did and it’s why he is the GOAT. But there are several of his wins where you could argue that he isn’t the biggest reason why his team won. I just don’t see that being the case for Mahomes, so that’s why I don’t believe he has to get to 7
