Limiting corruption. Fighting for children. Ending censorship. Free flow of information. Combating leveraging either the media or judicial system to attack political opposition. I listened to all 45 minutes of his speech and was surprised and moved by the content. My feeling is those on both sides of the aisle should have felt some sense of pride in what he was saying. No one with a Brian thinks corruption or censorship is only on one side of the aisle. How will this impact the election, only God knows. But the quality of the speech in its entirety and not the cnn censored version was something I would have expected both sides of the aisle to appreciate.

Interesting to hear an outsider’s observation. Lichtman is typically thought of as an academic but I’ve noticed this time around he seems to have been infected with a mental malady called TDS. (Trump Derangement Syndrome) I think it may be affecting his analysis this year.

Not only that, he thought the whole Democrat strategy to try to get Biden to drop out after the disastrous debate was stupid to do so, thus giving Trump an easy win. Yet now, after Biden drops out, he is saying that Kamala will win. Lichtman needs to pick a point and stick with it. I don't put much stock on him, especially when he wrote a book making the point that the only way to solve gun violence is to abolish the 2nd Amendment. Any person with a brain and an actual firm understanding of the history of the relationship between the individual and government will probably conclude, "Are you an idiot, sir?" Just because you change shit on a piece of parchment will not magically end gun violence. You will create more gun violence if you try to go after people's guns as a result. Also, if the people do not have the means to defend themselves, the government will, and historically, they will commit mass shootings of their own to take such guns, a la Wounded Knee (1890).

His system is flawed and how he assigns the keys isn’t always consistent. The keys predicted the popular vote but according to the professor in 2020 he changed it to actual winner after the 2000 election but what exactly did he changed in the system ? Nothing is still the same. Seems like a justification because he predicted that Trump would have won the popular vote in 2016 ( he didn’t). In 1992 the recession had already ended so by the rules of keys, short term economy growth was true but since the majority of the population thought the economy economy wasn’t doing so well and was still in recession it turned false. If he had respected the rules that he created , Bush would have won a second term. But if “vibeeconomics “ can changed a key, why doesn’t change now ?
