I looked at Contreras stats and he deserves to be there too. Hitting almost .300 and scored 60 runs. But, what surprised me, is Smith has thrown out 19 of 27 base runners attempting to steal. That's according to ESPN but it says 41% which isn't right. It must be 47 sba.

@@inathoiehohs8551 so throwing out runners is how you measure a catcher defensively? Contreras is hands down a better catcher than Smith….. there is literally zero argument you can make to change that. Smith is a good catcher. Contreras is much better.

I looked it up and, though he had four home runs in a game, Shawn Green didn't homer in four straight at bats. That is crazy. I wonder if any other Dodger has done that? He may be the first. Edit: Shawn Green did it against the Brewers as well.

Let me start off by saying I did not watch the game so I can't say for certain. After the second homer the Dodgers got 2 outs in the third, 3 outs in the fourth, 3 outs in the fifth, 3 outs in the sixth and 2 outs in the seventh while also scoring 2 more runs. 2+3+3+3+2+2=15. This means Smith definitely came to the plate between the second and third homerun. Walks and hit by a pitch do not count as "at bats", only as "plate appearances". It would a total of 18 to get through the order twice so being we were at 15, Smith walked/hit by a pitch is 16 so two additional players got on base but did not score and were not a part of a double play between Smith's second and third homer. I was slightly confused myself for a moment on how it could be four consecutive "at bats" before it dawned on me
