And there were a lot of bugs in the software. I worked for a manufacturer of building automation equipment. Computer control of HVAC, lighting, door access. There were many issues in the software regarding scheduling and such where things were not handled when the clock rolled over at midnight on Y2K. Equipment would have shut down. So you can act all smug over the Y2K thing, but it was real. It could have been a big problem. But many thousands of people worked long hours to ensure it wasn't a problem and people like you could make jokes about it later.

Economics 101 states that everything is defined from a single standard which is production. Debt influences the standard, production, one way or another depending on buyer and seller confidence. I always like to compare debt like driving a car with broken teeth in the gear system. It does not consistently work right and sometimes shifting gears takes too long and rarely works perfectly. Basically debt is far too sensitive in some respects while too obstinate in other ways. It's all based on buyer/seller confidence and they are constantly changing back and forth and in between. Debt is a confusing mess.

Software engineer here who was getting started back then. Companies were paying an incredible premium for coders back then to fix the problem. I recall there were tools to help identify logic in COBOL and RPG to help locate the two digit dates. The dollar is collapsing, not a lot you can do, just don't take the bait of CBDC. they will try to get you to convert. That is the goal total control. It will come Dave... The answer though isn't worry, it's getting your financial house in order, and having things of real value, not everything in just money.

😅 The thing about foresight is you can change your actions to create a new future which is what usually happens. A reaction to the warnings solves the problem. As bad situations are forewarned about but usually don't come true. This doesn't mean, we should never react to these warnings. It means by reacting to this information we have changed the course of outcome to a more desirable situation, and have avoided the undesirable outcome. Avoiding the undesirable outcome should be the desired result. When the sign in the road tells us there is dangerous curve ahead we react by becoming more observant and reducing our speed making it easy to avoid the problem. But if we ignore the warning signs we fly off the edge of the cliff.

Dave is the best in the world when it comes to the psychology of getting out of debt and building wealth. The mechanism that he uses to grow, his money is the magic of compounding. That compounding only works if some foundational elements are present. People are recognizing that these elements are being destroyed and that there will be serious repurcussions (sp?) when they do.

how i think it's going to affect him: more national debt coupled with more countries going off the dollar system will mean more inflation because your dollar will become worth less and will result in less of an ability for the US to borrow, IE, sell bonds to countries who want to hold them in our currency, so there will come a point to where we cant increase the national debt anymore which will mean major budget cuts. so its even more imperative he and others get ahead of the curve.

No, no collapse, at all. The nat'l debt clock was turned off many years ago because it's meaningless, the U.S. owes interest to the private company: Federal Reserve, which it pays massive interest payments to. The U.S. has very little foreign debt and even those debts have huge interest payments made to them, so, if the U.S. defaulted, those payments would stop, which no investor wants. I say we end the Federal Reserve, asap, and cancel foreign debt payments today and start all over again.
